I have researched every luggage line. It was between Monos, July, Away, and Samsonite. In my opinionAway is not made as well as Monos and is heavy & more expensive.Samsonite comes in lighter weight as well as July. However Samsonite has a cheap feel to it. July light carry on 4.9 lbs was huge disappointment! July light 4.9 lb carey on didn’t have compression compartment like Monos. July light doesn’t have a side handle, just top handle which is a hassle when you don’t have a handle to grab onto when trying to navigate overhead compartments. Overall all the luggage I listed are made well but some have cheaper feel to it compared to Monos. Also when Monos has sales you can get better price compared to the other brands I mentioned. Smoothest wheels with no struggle even when I have it packed heavy and dragging it on carpet. It glides smoothly regardless of surface. The materials are top of the line luxury. The zippers, mesh, plastic snaps, & compression material all have a very expensive sturdy well made luxurious feel. I feel as if this luggage could survive anything. I can’t recommend it enough. And I am a picky consumer. This is the best luggage on the market. I also purchased the Monos packing cubes which are also the absolute best packing cubes in the world! Luxury luxury luxury! Pamper yourself to any of their well made items. High quality

I bought the carry-on plus right before leaving on an ambitious 10 stop tour of Europe for work (performances) and I'm thrilled about this purchase; now back home, I'd make this purchase again in a heartbeat. This suitcase is an incredible design feat; it's visually unique & easy to spot in baggage claim, minimalist and sleek. And the wheels just blow me away. I personally don't mind in the slightest that the facade gets banged up and blemished in transit, they feel like battle scars and so far nothing has made me fear for the safety of my belongings or the suitcase itself (tldr; it won't look like it does in the marketing images after your first hour of use but that's fine!). After about a dozen different flights including many low cost carriers (Easyjet, Vueling, Norse, Ryanair to name a few) I was only required to pay and check it once, by Austrian Airways. Your luck may vary with the mood of the employees on that particular morning, regardless of airline (but for regular airlines no one should be batting an eye at all) I'm personally very happy to have gone with the extra space, although watch out for weight requirements in what you do with that space. One design suggestion is that I find myself missing having a handle on the bottom of the suitcase which would really help with maneuvering it quickly. I have had issues 2-3 times with the sliding handle opening and closing properly, particularly when the suitcase is packed tight, but after a few minutes it's always resolved itself with some wiggling. While foreboding, I decided not to deduce from my rating for that reason as I feel pretty reassured by Monos's limited guarantee to handle such issues if they become serious. My deducted star rating is for one reason alone which is the MIND BOGGLING degree of emailing you'll subject yourself to once becoming a Monos customer. I've received no fewer than 35 promotional emails in less than one month since making this purchase. In addition, some are related to their mileage point reward system which feels hollow in light of the wild prices of their accessories, like $45 piece of plastic to cover your suitcase (not even waterproof), $80 water bottle, or, get this, stickers for your suitcase which are $15 *per letter.* For stickers. If I spend $1000 on Monos apparel I will qualify for three stickers, which isn't exactly a meaningful loyalty gesture. Thankfully, I'm quite happy with the suitcase regardless of whether or not I make more purchases with this company.

I don’t normally write reviews but I haven’t stopped telling people about my new Monos bag since I bought it! I decided to purchase the Carry-On Plus in sage green for a 10-day trip to Italy after my old suitcase broke shortly before my trip and wasn’t covered under warranty anymore.I wanted to be able to go carry on only for the trip as we would be touring around and staying in multiple locations and I just didn’t want to lug a big bag. I’m pleased to report I was able to pack for all 10 days and even had room for souvenirs coming home. My parents came on the trip with me and also purchased new suitcases from a different brand for more than 2x the price - and were more impressed with the quality and capacity of the Monos. Might have to buy myself another, smaller Monos carry-on!

The Monos suitcase range makes packing and travelling an absolute dream. This is my second Monos purchase after buying a medium last summer to travel for three weeks across Europe. I love my medium case, but whilst on the trip I was inspired to try travelling lighter. Sixth months later I bought the carry-on plus in the gorgeous sage green colour and haven't looked back. I've travelled twice with the carry-on plus and it's held up really well. Some reviewers comment on the lighter colours being scuff and mark prone. All cases get marked with wear and tear, but I found that spending some time carefully using the cleaning sponge that is provided gets the case back looking as new. I was surprised by how roomy the carry on plus is - both trips I've made have been in the colder months and I've packed more bulky clothing, but it easily holds enough for a week, including a spare pair of boots! You may have to get used to the fact that it's two halves are not so deep as a medium case so the Monos packing cubes and toiletry case which I also bought sit up a bit proud of the sides of the case and need a bit of compression (they did fit better in the medium). All in all, I'm delighted with my purchase and I am sure I will be buying more cases and accessories soon. I think I'm hooked!
I recently purchased the Monos Carry-On Plus, first in the Desert Taupe, then changed my mind for the White one. Exchange process was easy and I received my new white Monos suitcase in time for my week with girlfriends in Cabo San Lucas. I am pleased to say that I was able to fit a week's worth of outfits, (with planning and some packing cubes), into my suitcase so was able to carry on board. This bag fit perfectly in the overhead bin on Alaska Airlines. [I also used my Beis Mini Weekender so was able to fit 3 pairs of shoes, toiletries, makeup, etc, in this personal carry-on.] Have read that if you get scuffs on the Monos bags that baby wipes work well to clean, but so far my bag is still perfect. Having only experience with soft suitcases, I had researched hardshell bags for awhile and I am so happy with my purchase. Wheels maneuvered easily through the airports on both tile and carpet, and the telescoping handle worked very well (I did not use the compression pad that comes with the luggage since I wanted to maximize the packing space.) I plan on using the Monos Carry-On Plus for many years to come!
The carry-on plus is a good piece of luggage for up to a weeks trip based on how you pack. I fit two pairs of chunky shoes, two pairs of jeans, two blazers, a sweater, several shirts, pajamas, underpants/socks, toiletries, an umbrella and some other miscellaneous things. Was my first trip with a hard case. Fits well in the JetBlue overhead compartment . As others have said, the bag scuffs pretty easily and I have the olive green version. The wheels are sturdy and work very well on smooth floors, you may need to pull like a two wheeler on carpet or at an incline. If you’ve got a heavyish tote over the handle with the luggage sleeve, it can get a little tipsy if not on a smooth surface. I appreciate the compression pad but it’s awkward having that flapping around when ... MoreThe carry-on plus is a good piece of luggage for up to a weeks trip based on how you pack. Would also be good to have one more handle on the bag, at the bottom or side to help grab to lift overhead. Bag is definitely lighter than my other soft sided carry on luggage and is a really clean aesthetic.
I bought my original Monos Carry-On Plus in January 2023. It has been amazing in terms of the space that it has on the inside as well as withstanding all kinds of travel scrapes and bumps on the outside. It rolls so well, the adjustable telescoping handle is amazing, and I absolutely adore the compression side of the interior. In July 2024, one of the brackets that held down the compression pad broke. Monos has a lifetime warranty on their products, so I filed a claim hoping to get a new bracket replacement before my next round of travel. Long story short, Monos couldn't replace the bracket in time for my travel and so THEY SENT ME A BRAND NEW SUITCASE FOR FREE. This luggage is everything promised: sleek, thoughtful, stylish. I haven’t flown carry-on in years, and was delighted to find that I could pack for a weeklong trip with this bag and the equally stylish Metro backpack.Given the price and hassle of trying to return large items through the post, I really wanted to make sure I was able to select colors accordingly. I chose the terrazzo pattern for the suitcase and wanted to make sure the metro bag coordinated well. Monos support went through the trouble of sharing photos of every bag color I requested next to the suitcase—which took a ton of time and was so appreciated! I absolutely plan to come back to buy the checked version. In case you’re curious: The green metro bag does not match perfectly, but looks gorgeous ... Black would be the cleanest match, given black details on the suitcase, and both taupe/brown colors in the metro line would match nicely as well. The olive colored luggage tag does not match this bag, unfortunately. I wish I had asked before selecting it, but I’m sure it’ll find another use.
Just used it for a 4-leg, 3-night business casual meeting. Was a little big for Delta’s 717 series (Newark to Atlanta) but it fit sideways. Easily fit in the 757 and 737. Got checked from Atlanta to New Orleans, and took on a few scuffs, during handling but held up fine. Side note, in black it’s not very indistinguishable, I got nervous I wouldn’t recognize it on the carousel, since I had just got it and had to do a few double takes to make sure it was mine. lol. Comes with a whole bunch of little I don’t know what you call them, like pouches, which I used for wires and chargers and stuff. I actually found it to be slightly small, only packed a couple of pants and mostly t shirts, underwear and stuff. Only had room for an extra pair of Nikes, and one heavy flannel. Didn’t know what the weather was going to be but couldn’t fit on an extra heavy flannel or a hoodie. Had to put my toiletries and all my plugs and wires in my back pack. BUT it was not stuffed, if I had to probably could have stuffed in a few more items.I had to make 2 connections so a lot of ground to cover. It moves pretty nicely. It’s a little on the lighter side so tips a little bit but found it easy to move and move fast. All in all I’m happy with the purchase. Was replacing more of a duffel bag with wheels that I have used on similar length trips that i bought from target a few years ago that I thought was too small. I definitely would get the plus as the size below would have been too small at least for me, and trust me I did not take a ton of clothes.
i used to use a medium-sized soft shell suitcase made by another company for international travel. its wheels started to break halfway through a long trip last summer and the size always allowed me to bring with me more than i needed.when i was looking for a replacement this winter, i wanted something durable and smaller. monos came up right away during my search, and i looked carefully for several months at all the luggage they make, finally narrowing down my choice to the carry-on plus as my checked bag (and the metro duffel as my carry-on). i’ve really wanted to scale it back and only bring what i know i will use.everything is well-designed and seems well-made, including the cardboard box it shipped in, and the nice fabric dust bag. it’s a beautiful piece of ...
