Don't be fooled. These are NOTHING like the original Betty Crocker blueberry muffins. They are not even edible. Do yourself a favour and don't even try them out of morbid curiosity or because you have a, "Well, how bad can they be?" mentality. Just don't. They are gluey, taste of artificial sweetener and will ruin any nostalgic feelings you have for the brand.

I do like these, it's hard to find low fat options, particularly for baked goods. I've never had them when they had tins of blueberries, only the sachet. The thing I don't like is the level of salt, 1g per muffin is a lot! That's why the 3 stars, if the salt was lower they'd be 4 to 5 stars as they're useful and low fat.

Nice designed packaging. Easy to follow instructions, extras you will need the addition of water and 1 medium egg. My mixture made 5, guide is for 6, probably my cases a little bigger. Plenty of blueberry mixture. No issues with cooking. The overall cooked look a little light in colour and almost plasticy, if I'd cooked longer they would have burnt. They do have a nice taste, it's the texture I have a problem with. I think when your only adding water and an egg to the flour it affects the overall look and texture. Great fun to make with the kids, I wouldn't buy again though. Bought on promotion.

These used to come with a little tin of blueberries, now you get a foil bag of super sweet jam. Also, the mix itself seems much sweeter than before. Not in any way like they used to be. Such a shame, we're big Betty Crocker fans but this is by far their worse product now. So hope they don't make the same changes to their other products. This pack makes 6 small to medium-sized muffins which makes them very poor value for money.
Pleased to see this mix only requires 1 egg & some water as some similar mixes require multiple additional ingredients. Only makes 6 regular muffins (though I used cupcake cases and made 9). Found the tops a bit crusty when freshly cooked but had a better texture the next day after being kept in an airtight tub. Would recommend if you don't tend to keep cake ingredients in the house but personally like the outcome of baking from scratch better. I purchased this product as part of a cashback promotion.
Used to love the little tin of blueberries that came with these muffin mix. A truly lovely blueberry muffin. Now the small sachet you get is more like jam and the muffin mix itself was really salty. Will be adding extra fresh blueberries next time. More like bluberry jam muffins than whole fruit muffins.
item bought as part of promotion to review. I was amazed at the quality of these muffins as not usually a buyer of this type of product. So easy to make and the blueberry mix was the most delicious taste and consistency. I actually was able to make 12 muffins with a tablespoon of mixture to get a bit more out of the box. Perfect for a nice afternoon treat or party.
these are really convenient to make for those who like baking but don't have much time or can't buy all ingredients. the blueberrys are a compote, which were surprisingly good. it says it makes 6 but I made 7 with this pack and should have really made 8 as they over flowed
I added frozen blueberries to the batter, which were certainly the best part of the muffin. The texture was nice, but the cake itself had no flavour at all. If I had got this in a cafe I wouldn't have gone back to the cafe. Expensive for only 6 muffins, it's a really small batter. Disappointed- usually Betty Crocker is much better. I suspect it's because they tried to make it low-fat, but all they did was make it a tiny amount of something with no taste. Also it's not very good the next day. Dry and soggy at the same time.
Not sure what all the bad reviews are about! These were delicious and easy to make. Didnt come with cupcake cases but I put in a cupcake tin and they came out lovely. Gooey in the middle and crispy on the outside.
