Betty Crocker Velvety Vanilla Cake Mix 425 G

This is easy to use and tasty if you like the boxed cake taste. Some people dont like the obviously yellow cake taste but I enjoy it and do not mind it. I do bake from scratch but sometimes you just want something fast and to bring back the nostalgic childhood memories. Cake mixes were common in my childhood and every mom used them when classmates brought cupcakes in. The oil makes it stay moist. You can add extra eggs if you like less crumb and more bounce. I will also add in a can of crushed pineapple to make it into a pineapple cake. This is an affordable pantry item that is useful to have around. Not the healthiest but great for an occasional treat.

This brand has always been a good alternative to doing it the old fashioned way but without the hassle of having to buy all the ingredients and this is better than ordering a personalized cake or buying a pre made one. We love this brand however the cake is supposed to take 20 to 30 mins to cook on a lower temperature once you had preheated the oven however I cooked it on the recommended preheat temperature of 325 and preheated the oven at 475 instead but yet even though it was preheated and then I cooked it at 325 instead of 300 like it said, it still took over an hour to just cook one. Which honestly would take the same amount of time to prep and bake one if youd want to make it the old fashioned way from scratch. Best boxed cake ever!

We usually make cakes ourselves from scratch, but decided to give this a go. I like that it gives you alternatives on what to add - oil or melted butter and milk or water. We used melted butter and water. This is honestly the best boxed cake mix I've ever used. The cake was incredibly light and fluffy inside and it turned out just like the picture on the box. We will definitely be buying this again.

Does what it says

it's a good mix to have for anyone nervous about making a vanilla cake, however I think its too expensive for what it is considering that eggs and butter are still needed. also the sugar content seems to be on the high side. would recommend as it's already measured out and following the Instructions would help achieve a perfect sponge cake

The title says it all. Shockingly sweet, disgustingly cloy & no other flavour. Buy Waitrose or Sainsbury?s own brand sponge cake mix ,far superior. I have just had a slice & feel the need to brush my teeth - achingly cloy! I should have checked the ingredients list for percentage of sugar. This used to be a decent cake mix, not anymore, now 46% if the ingredient is Sugar, meaning almost have of this mix is pure white refined Sugar! There is absolutely no flavour, no vanilla essence , nothing. All you taste is Sugar! My my 6 year old said ? it tasted like ?Sugar on white bread mummy,did you accidentally put too much sugar on bread and just calling it a cake? - her words! Overpowering Vanilla Flavour

The cake was easy to make and looked very moist and rose well. My only issue was the overpowering vanilla flavouring. For me it was too much and spoilt the cake. Would I recommend it? Yes if you love a strong vanilla flavoured cake.

Ready mix Betty Crockers cake mix

Betty Crockers vanilla cake mix, it's so easy to use and yummy. I baked it with carrots and orange juice and also added some cinnamon with a bit of raisens as my granddaughter loves baking with these ingredients. wow, cake turned out really yummy tasty. Everyone enjoyed it throughly. I definitely recommend it.

I love these cake mixes, they make baking so easy and especially with young kids. The instructions are so easy to follow for all and always comes out perfect. I always buy the icing to go ontop by betty crocker so i dont have anything to stress about. Its a shopping must
