After several months ownership of the Bialetti Brikka (2 cup) I feel qualified to write a review, the Review Title is a fair summary of my opinion. Because of my experience with coffee plungers ( an all metal single cup plunger delivering a better taste than a multi-cup plunger regardless of the material it's are made of - at least in my opinion) I ordered the Bialetti Brikka 2 cup. This will give a 60 ml shot of excellence that fits nicely in an Expresso Cup. As long as the instructions are followed carefully there is really nothing between you and coffee bliss. Just start with cold water, make sure the element on your stove is already heated before placing the Bialetti on it (the ideal temperature of element on my stove is heated to half way, your stove may ... My favourite method of drinking this is to place a dob of whipped cream in a preheated expresso cup, pour the coffee in, then another dob of whipped cream (smaller than the first) and a very light sprinkling with Cinnamon powder. Absolutely delish. In closing I would like to thank the team at 'Alternative Brewing' for their excellent service

This coffee maker is beautiful and makes good, decent coffee. As a native Italian I have a few Bialetti coffee makers at home. However, it is quite deceitful to claim "it is the only Bialetti coffee maker capable of producing the cream of an espresso. " It does not. You might get a little bit of bubbles, like most Bialetti though it is not nothing like an espresso.A special top circular valve is needed to create crema similar to an espresso.

Wow! I was really surprised how nice my coffee tasted. I've had percolators in the past. But none have made such a sweet coffee. The valve on the Brikka produces delicious creamy coffee. Normally I have latte's from my espresso machine but I wanted a coffee maker I could use on the go. It's a quality built Italian product. You will not be disappointed.

When my expensive espresso machine broke I pulled out the French press and used that until I found a replacement. I ended up getting another espresso machine but it didn't work out. So, after a ton of research I got this Moka pot. Long story short this moka pot brews better coffee than both espresso machines and the French press could ever do. I love that I can take it camping and that it lasts 10 years or longer with proper care. It's also easy to use and clean.
It Arrived Too Tightly Twusted Together Which Isnt A Good Way To Store These Because The Seal Will Wear Out. Secondly It Had Some Kind Of Thick Grease On It, After I Cleaned It And Filled It With Premium Coffee...it Started To Brew And Then Slide All Over The Stove...it Has A Tiny Crack In The Very Bottom. Underneath The Unit It Drips The Tinest Amount Of Water As Soon As It Atarts To Boil. I Jave Bought Bialetti Pots Online In The Past From Other Retailers, They Arrived Without Grease, Over Tightening, Or Cracks. Sending This Back And Paying A Lottle More Through The Other Site.
- Great quality product- Makes a great cup of coffee- Easy to clean- Easy to store- Great for one person- Even with supermarket ground coffee produces a coffee that in my opinion rivals barista coffees- Economically a great product- Only con is that if water if filled above internal line you will highly risk the coffee bubbling over
Brewing is easy. 1. Fill the lower chamber with warm water, below the safety Valve. 2. Fill the coffee basket with fresh ground coffee, I find medium roasted gives great results. 3. Assemble the moka pot, use a towel as the lower chamber will be hot to a touch. 4. Put the Moka pot on low to medium heat. Let it brew. 5. Once the coffee comes through on to the chamber, keep an eye until the coffee starts to splutter. Remove the Moka pot from the heat rest the Moka pot on a wet towel or run the lower chamber under cold running water. This is to stop the extraction. 6. Pour and enjoy.
The Italian Bialetti 'Brikka' has always been my choice to get the best espresso coffee with 'crema' from a home use stovetop. This new model is even better than their previous patented 'pressure release valve' version.I highly recommend this upgrade and prefer the smaller 2 cup size for making a 'proper' 1 cup at a time coffee.Make it your go to when comparing and looking to buy a stovetop coffee maker.
After having used the first style of Brikka (with the weighted poppet in the middle of the funnel) for well over 10 years, I was a bit skeptical of the new "improved" version without this moving part. However, the latest version of the Brikka also makes the same great coffee with crema, unlike the more traditional percolators. The new version is also a LOT easier to clean than the old one and so far is holding up nicely. I do suspect that after using it for quiet a while, an in depth clean of the internal stack/funnel will be required and that I can't comment on yet. At the moment a good rinse with clean water is all that's required. Make sure you run at least 3 brews through this unit, before actually drinking a coffee. At the moment a good rinse with clean water is all that's required. Make sure you run at least 3 brews through this unit, before actually drinking a coffee. Mine took at least that to season, before making beautiful coffee. Think it might have something to do with the new Brikka using an aluminium filter basket and that is really the only gripe I can find with this. The old ones had a stainless basket, but suppose in the end, they do the same. It's very easy to make espresso, long/short black/white coffee with this and maybe even a latte by pouring some milk into the top before putting it on the boil,... something I might try out myself. This is not your average percolator, this gives you many options to enjoy your coffee in styles you like.
over the years, i’ve tried almost every coffee brewing method there is, and i recently came full circle with a new bialetti brikka after 30 years of espresso machines, french presses, v60s, a moccamaster, aeropress, the vietnamese caphe drip, indonesian kopi tubruk…. you name it!i’m delighted with the simplicity of the bialetti brikka….i get 4 shots of delicious espresso with plenty of crema, with a minute of prep and a minute or two on a preheated stovetop.the bialetti is very quick and easy to clean, it’s built for durability, and finally, it’s a classic that looks great in my kitchen.
