Anyone else having this problem. I can't seem to open the unit at all even for first use. I've tried unscrewing and gently rocking the upper and lower sections but they seem sealed shut. It looks like there may even be some adhesive between the halves.This is the second one I've exchanged somaybe I'm missing something.My standard bialetti unscrews very easily.I've also noticed on bialetti site video that the dolce and gabbana model doesn't appear to have a screw fitting, suggesting that it just fits snugly on the base - though that might just be a video for aesthetics.No-one in the shop could shed any light either - here's hoping it was a bad batch and 3rd time lucky.

I purchased this at Christmas time, having used a Moka Express pot previously.I was drawn to the Carretto Siciliano artwork; I enjoy products with thoughtful details.As with all Moka pots, be very careful to fill the pot with water to just below the pressure knob. Also, I do not use super fine grind and I also don't compact the coffee otherwise you will have trouble with the percolation process.The Dolce & Gabbana Moka Pot is a joy to look at in my kitchen and produces a wonderful coffee for Espresso Martinis!

After testing, I understand why this particular model has developed a cult following—it produces a strong, rich, espresso-like batch of coffee in less than 10 minutes. It is easy to use and more affordable than other moka pots I've tried. Great collaboration with D&G, adding its retro looks more fashionable.

The Bialetti Dolce&Gabbana Moka Machine not only looks great, but it also makes excellent coffee. I'm receiving many compliments for the eye catching pattern and color and wonderful flavor. It is easy to use, just follow the simple directions to get the best flavor. It is a fun piece which will brighten up any kitchen.
A Dolce & Gabbana product I can actually afford, looks amazing in my black and white kitchen - such a great colourful pop of colour. Product works well and is so cool, makes amazing coffee. I love how the coffee comes out of the top due to the pressure of the water boiling underneath. I love my purchase thank you again!
I've used a Bialetti Espresso Maker for years in a variety sizes and styles. This one is the best so far. for whatever reason it is more consistent. Brews with a bit of crema hard to get. This is not only pretty as a statement piece but also does the job --asthetics and function enjoyable before my early moring swim.
I was really disappointed with this coffee maker. I bought it as a present and while it looks beautiful, it has definite drawbacks when used. The handle gets too hot & it's not easy to separate to clean. Not nearly as good as Grønenberg maker previously used & at least twice the price. Such a shame.
Tiny But Mighty!! Beautiful Moka Pot!!Purchased the 3-Cup Bialetti Moka Pot. Read Manual & Followed Instructions. After Use, Only Rinse.Makes a Perfect Latte. Used Lavazza espresso coffee. Heated milk in microwave in pint mason jar & frothed with AeroLatte wand. Enjoyed Process. Savored Yummy Latte.
The Dolce Gabba Bialetti moka pot is a beautiful, long awaited addition to my kitchen. It took me a few a few tries to get the coffee exactly the way I enjoy it. This is not a pot to leave on the heat alone. Reading the instructions is a must. However, it’s a simple process overall, and the pot makes great coffee. When not in use, it’s a pretty pop of color on the kitchen shelf.
Cute coffee maker! I am reviewing both colors: our daughter bought the red version and I the blue. Both make most wonderful cafe. The red is vibrant and bubbly like my daughter. The blue is a little more reserved, like Papa. Buy one each and enjoy! PS blue happens to be my grandson's favorite color. I will be passing it on to him, some day, as it seems to be of quality to become an heirloom and enjoyed for generations.
