We had a moms night out at my house with friends and we all shared something that happened to us that week. I shared that I dropped off my daughter at a sleep away camp. We all decided to send her postcards and letters. I mentioned to my friends that I just received these amazing pens to try out for free. I pulled out the BICr Gelocityr Quick Dry Gel Pens, cardstock and envelopes. We all had fun using the pens. The colors were vibrant, it was really easy writing with the pens, the lines were smooth, the writing dried faster than I expected. I think we were really surprised at the quality of these BIC pens. I would highly recommend them to everyone.

I have been using these pens now for a few years. I absolutely the way they right and the colors they offer except green, which is too light, so I get the competitive brand. My biggest problem is that if I have removed the little ball and use the pen, then stop using the pen for a while summer break, for example, then when I am ready to use it again, they are all blocked up. I end up throwing them away because I can never get them to work again, despite being full of ink. Other pens do this too, but these seem to jam up much sooner. Ive thrown away 3 Gelocity pens in the past month and now have 3 more that I cant get to work. I love this ink pen I have had such a hard time finding anything bigger than a 0.7mm and I do NOT like the 0.7mm at all because they write so thin you can hardly read your own writing where as with this BOLD 1.6mm you dont have to wonder, you know I work in Healthcare and I prefer the 1.6mm for charting, and for writing communication with the different shifts and other staff members. The BIC Atlantis Velocity Bold Retractable Ballpoint Pen feels comfortable in my hand when using my hands are small for any length of time. The pen glides smoothly across the paper when writing. I have never had an issue with globby ink or smearing with The Bic Atlantis Velocity 1.6mm. I didnt have very high expectations for these because Ive been loyal to one brand for years and theyve never disappointed but... these are beautiful and my new favorite. They glide like a gel ink without the mess. I have loved using these for everything and theyre so affordable. I will definitely be stocking up.
This pen glides very easily on paper but within seconds of writing it was already stopping writing. Its very large in the hand and I imagine after long period of use, if the pen continues to work that it might cause problems with the hand. This pen actually writes bigger than I was expecting but with it being called Velocity Bold, with bold vivid lines that is 100 on point.
Im generally a gel ink pen snob, because they always seem to write and glide better than ballpoint pens. I dont know how they created these pens to work identically, but they do They glide effortlessly and smoothly with a silky ink. Normally ballpoint pens are stiff and the ink gets coarse and dried up but these work just like gel ink.
I've been using this model of pen, Atlantis made by Bic, for many years. I tried the "new" Atlantis called Glide but it's not for me, the grip is smaller. The original had a bigger grayish grip and my hand is just used to it. I've been searching around for the originals and when I found them here, I was super happy! It's the small comforts that can mean the most!
These used to be my favorite pens. They lasted forever and wrote darkly and smoothly. I recommended them to so many people. But I’m sorry to say the last three packages I’ve purchased have been disappointing. I thought that maybe I’d just gotten a bad package so bought the second from a different store and the third from yet another store. The pens start out great but after a very short time the ink becomes faint and they don’t write well. I won’t be buying these again.
Bic Atlantis pens are the best pens on the market, excluding higher-end pens such as Scrivener and Cross. I never leave the house without two or more of them in my purse. Smooth writing, no "skips," and the medium point is ideal for all kinds of writing. I have tried the fine-point Atlantis pens, but the point is too fine for everyday use.
These pens are actually nicer than I expected. I can't seem to get my two videos to upload (opening the package/writing with the blue pen). But, I used all three colors for different tasks today & used them right out of the package with no issues! The ink came out instantly with no pre scribbling like other pens require. They are very light weight, but still sturdy. The metal clip is strong & slides on paper etc for a strong hold. There is a form feeling grip on each pen, that is soft & comfortable, it also prevents slipping. To me, they feel like a gel style ink ball point pen I had & loved in the past! My neighbor borrowed one today to write a phone number down & tried to steal it because it wrote so nicely LOL.
