Amazing vestibule!

Definitely a car camping tent. But it is compact enough when stored to not take up too much room.6. My only real complaint is the vestibule has about a 6" gap around the bottom edges. So you don't get a real feeling of 100% privacy. I also use the separate footprint and I kept kicking dirt into the vestibule area that required me to constantly sweep out. On the other hand, didn't have any problem with bugs.7. Love the amount of doors, including the front and side door.Bottom line: This will be my go-to tent for solo car camping, especially on wet/rainy weekends.

I added this one to my roster as a car camping tent. Loved the idea of a big vestibule without having to zip/unzip and track dirt into the tent just to get at gear. This tent was awesome for that! Keep the gear "outside", keep the sleeping compartment clean. The head room in the sleeping section is totally great, very tall for a two person tent, and under the vestibule I can fully stand up near the center (I'm 5'6"). It's a bit pricey, but if you're looking to keep bikes etc under it, or just like a little room to spread out your goods, this tent is for you. I did notice there is a bit of a gap between the edges of the vestibule and the ground, so it might not be totally dry if you put things right near the edge of the vestibule, but it wasn't a problem for me. Interesting design - too heavy for bikepacking
18 October 2022

I was really intrigued by not only the design of this tent with the large covered vestibule, but also that it was described as being for bikepacking. The first thing I noticed was the size and weight of the tent…it’s really heavy (12 lbs.). Our current bike packing tent weighs 2 lbs. I tried putting it on a bike handlebars as described. The stuff sack is designed so that the poles/stakes are in a separate bag that attaches securely to the tent stuff sack. So you can carry both together or split the two components between two bikes. I still think it’s too heavy. At first, I found the instructions to be a bit confusing, but once I figured which pole went where and the order of operations, set up was easier but still time consuming. I still think it’s too heavy. At first, I found the instructions to be a bit confusing, but once I figured which pole went where and the order of operations, set up was easier but still time consuming. The second time around it took me about 30 minutes to set up working alone. The poles are really long and the fly is pretty large and a bit unwieldy and may be a challenge in a confined space. The tent portion is compact and can accommodate two people snugly and would be spacious for one. It has internal pockets for storage, two of which are fairly large. I could stand fairly comfortably in the tent (but I’m only 5’6”). The door keeper feature was useful to easily keep the flap out of the way when moving stuff or people in and out.The highlight of this whole tent is the vestibule. It would be great as a sun shelter or for rain protection. I found it challenging to roll up the vestibule doors solo because the flap is wider that my functional wingspan, but I was able to work it out. I also received a footprint that spans the entire footprint (tent and vestibule) which wasn’t really practical unless you’re ok with putting your gear (chairs, bike, etc.) on top of the foot print. I folded up the excess foot print so that it was only under the tent and that seemed to work out ok.I was hoping to be able to use the vestibule as a standalone structure without the tent, but the vestibule clips into straps that are attached to the tent. Breakdown of the tent is fairly simple, though did get frustrating at times because the fly is large and hard to manage and I found it difficult to wrangle the four arms of the main pole back together. I’d let go of one arm to break down the other, and the first would unfold itself. The rubber bands that came on the pole was helpful to keep each arm folded up as I worked on the next. It took me about 30 minutes to get it all packed up and the two stuff sacks lashed together again.Overall, I liked this tent but I wouldn’t recommend it for self-supported bikepacking where you carry everything you need on your bike. It’s just too heavy and cumbersome. I think it could be great for car camping, or using at a basecamp for bike/moto adventures and especially good in open spaces where there’s no shade or in seasons when rain might be an issue. Since the most likely use is car camping, where space is less of an issue, Big Agnes might consider making the tent itself a bit more spacious to add more comfort.

Looove it - "with a garage!"
3 October 2015

Absolutely love this tent.Quite easy to erect solo, nothing complicated. Bought it to bicycle tour with while aiming at heading out with a second person. Did not materialize so I bought Big Agnes Super Scout UL2 because the wyoming is 9 lbs, the only drawback for me. I've left it set up in the bush for nearly a month in winter and at 4+/- " of snow on top and 10" up the sides it, it showed no signs of strain at all which I wondered about. In summer, same thing, by a mountain lake, but once came back to it finding it semi-rolled over - longer pegs then helped. I use a mix of MSR cyclone and carbon-core and Easton Gold pegs with no problem anymore. Space: not the widest for 2 pax sleeping but adequate enough, with little gear inside. My 29er touring bike gets zipped in & out of sight. I may have had a 2nd bike in there, can't remember. It would fit for sure just not sure about ease of passage then but excellent for overnight security. Height in garage for my 5'8'' totally works, inside height not cramped. Have not had it exposed to winds, always been somewhat sheltered so can't say how it'll handle but I'm more confident about that than when I first bought it. In use 70 days. Buy it, enjoy it.

Unique design
29 September 2022

Saw this tent while browsing through Moosejaw website and the unique design caught my attention. After jamming myself into a one man tent in Alaska (in the rain) I was looking for something roomier. While this is still a two man, it has a extremely large covered area to store equipment or to allow two people to sit in chairs out of rain. It is almost tall enough for me to stand (6' 1") making it easy to change. There is also a generous vestibule on the back side. It is rather large and heavy for backpacking for one person, but the storage bag can be split between two people. The instruction recommend a trial assembly, good idea as it's quite different than any other tent I've set up. Easy once you've done it.

Very Functional Tent - Great for Car Camping!
21 October 2022

The Big Agnes Wyoming Trail 2 is a great tent for car camping! The main tent is perfect for 2 people and a dog, and the vestibule is very spacious and great for hanging out while it's raining and storing gear. Set up was pretty standard - I tested it in my backyard before camping so I'd know how to set it up. It's a little clunky at first compared to my backpacking tent, but once you set it up once, you'll have it down. The only downside is that the tent is pretty heavy, so I personally wouldn't take it backpacking. But for the size and functionality, it's become my go-to for car camping!

great bike trip tent!

The assembly directions that come attached to the tent are not helpful at all. Pictures with the directions would have been extremely helpful and saved me loads of frustration. I couldn’t even locate a video online of how to assemble the tent. It was difficult to determine what the front of the tent was versus the back (labels would help!). Same with the vestibule. It took me an hour by myself to the tent situated and set-up. We often camp in our local state parks which feature packed gravel sites – there is no way to easily set up this tent without staking it. The stakes that come with the tent are useless as they don’t have hook and you need hooked stakes in order to secure the tent loops – this is a surprising oversight on the part of Big Agnes. The tent itself ... MoreThe assembly directions that come attached to the tent are not helpful at all. It’s big enough for two good sized camp chairs or two bikes. I am disappointed that there are no attachment points at all in the shelter for gear such as a helmet, etc. Also some type of mesh screen door would have been handy to not only increase the ventilation in the tent but to keep out bugs if you are hanging out in the porch area. The head room was a bonus as I had no problem standing up in the middle of the vestibule that way I could change clothes there instead of inside the tent.Overall a great tent for those who bike and camp as the tent is easy to transport and the vestibule is handy to store your bike out of the elements. Not sure I would use this tent for our weekend state park camping though as not being able to set up the tent without stakes on hard packed gravel doesn’t make this a good option for that set up.
