Just got back from 5 days of hiking in the bob marshal wilderness. Finally had the chance to use my Big Agnes Zoom UL pad. I've used at least 5 different pads over the last ten years, this pad is by far the best I've ever used. Size, thickness, weight, durability all fantastic. My only negative is just a tiny piece of constructive commentary in terms of the size the bag that the pad fits into. Nobody seems to realize that outside the factory and in the real world, that pad is tough to repeatedly fit back in the bag. A bigger carrying bag would be nice.

I've been searching for a pad that was all 4 of these: light, comfortable, warm enough, and quiet! I've tried for so long that I'd almost given up. So many pads can do 1 or 2 or maybe even 3 of these but this is the first I've found that crushes all 4! BA hit a home run with this pad. No balloon animal sound of the s2s, more comfort than even the Nemo, way quieter and more comfortable than Thermarest, and my long wide only weighs a hair over 19oz on my scale without the pump sack. Use the flextail pump instead. So pumped, no pun intended, to use this from now on as part my go to sleep system. Oh and it packs smaller than my other pads too, bonus!

Super comfortable, much more than my last sleeping pad. Seems to be quite insulating as I did not notice any cold air seeping through when my pad was on the tent floorprint. The inflating bag is simple, yet efficient. The valve cap has a tab that you slip underneath the red flap to let out air without having to hold or press anything, which is nice. I'm glad I got the 25x72, because IMO the extra width is worth the few extra oz for comfort, even though I'm slim enough to fit the regular pad. The 25x72 is only 18oz anyway. Overall, I think this is a well designed UL pad and I'm glad I chose this over a Thermarest.

Pad is very warm and comfortable. I'm 167 5'10 and move a lot in sleep. I tend to sleep on my side and belly and found this pad incredibly comfortable, very packable and at a great weight. The only reccomendation for the future would be to add a release valve for air that stays open while you roll it up. Currently, you have to fold the pad four time and try to roll and let air out or lay on it snd let air out. It makes the packing take a little more time because you must depress the air relief and roll at the same time. Many other pads have a an easy two-way valve or two separate valves to remedy this. Not a criticism of the pad, but a v2 change. Would purchase this pad again as is though.
Recently bought this pad due to it being lightweight, compact, comfort and a decent R-value. I got the 25 x78inch pad. This has been one of the most comfortable sleeping pads I have slept on and would take it over most pads. Given the lightweight and compact packing of the pad, this has become my go to backpacking pad.A few downsides are compared to other pads are that it takes about 9-12 pumps with the pump sac to inflate. The pump sac also feels quite heavy. I think I will be replacing it with a pump at some point. Other downside is the R-value is not what it seems. I am comfortable taking it down to 30F, but wouldn't go much below that. I have a 20 degree sleeping bag. For my camping this temperature is perfect for me.Overall pros outgain the slight cons seen ... MoreRecently bought this pad due to it being lightweight, compact, comfort and a decent R-value. I would take this over the nemo tensor, big agnes rapide SL, and the thermarest neoair NXT(I would take the NXT if going to lower tempertures).
Love the Zoom UL! After several nights of use so far it's proving to be one of the most comfortable pads I've used. I've had the pad in temperatures down to about 17° F and unfortunately was pretty cold at those temps. I could feel cold coming through the pad against my back, but in 30° and warmer overnight temps the pad has been great! The weight and pack size are awesome and like I said, it's incredibly comfortable. I like the single valve opening more than the two valve on other BA pads. If choosing this or the Rapide SL, I'd go for the zoom for the weight savings and if I am going to be in mild temperatures. Awesome pad!
I just returned from a trip to the Cascades where I used this pad 4 night camping in the snow on ski traverses. This pad is lightweight, and compact which made it awesome for fitting into a small pack I could still ski with. I paired it with a twister can closed cell foam I had cut to 3/4 length and a 35 degree bag. I was in the Shield 2 tent with another person with overnight low temps around 20 and was warm and cozy.I really like how comfortable this pad is. I have had lightweight insulated pads that are noisy and not that comfortable and this one was a welcomed change to have a small pack size, lightweight and warm pad that is also very comfortable to sleep on.
I bought this pad for an upcoming bikepacking trip through France and Spain, and for all future endeavors, of course. It's a replacement for a lightweight pad from another company. I chose this one because of the high R-value, whereas the other pad is R0 and I have suffered too many cold nights with it. I haven't had an opportunity to use this properly, but tried it at home. It's a perfect size for me (I'm 6'0 175lbs), packs small, was quick and easy to inflate and instantly comfortable. I'm very excited to try this out on the bike in the coming months!
I have other BA pads and love the comfort they provide. The Zoom UL didn't disappoint! It's just as comfortable as my other BA pads at a fraction of the weight. I've heard stories of it not living up to it's R-value. I have yet to test it in colder temps. Not a deal breaker for me as I still have my qcore deluxe ready to go. I also have ways of raising the R-value if needed. I got the 20 inch pad. I'm used to 25 wide pads so may get the wider one instead. Probably worth it for the extra ounce. Haven't used this one outside the house yet. That will be the deciding factor as to weather I need the wider pad. All in all, great pad. Super lightweight and packs ridiculously small!
This pad, at first, seems flimsy and "garbage bag" like. I was a little nervous when I first pulled it out of the stuff sack. After inflating the pad and sleeping in the garage on the cold, concrete floor, I have to say, this pad is amazing. It weighs next to nothing and is extremely warm. It is very loud when deflated, but, once inflated, it is fairly quiet. I traded in my Rapide for this pad due to a faulty inflate valve. The only thing I don't like about this pad is it is a pain to deflate. You have to push out all of the air while holding down the valve button. Other than that, I am pleased so far.
