As a mom with a little one in orthotics, this company is a godsend to us!! My son just recently graduated into SMO orthotics, and the Billy shoe is perfect for these! He has a super rare foot condition, Vertical Talus, and has had a long journey to walking - but we are almost to that finish line! We love Billy shoes and they are the only ones we buy anymore. They always fit over his braces. The laces are functional and we love the short wrap zipper because he crawls a lot to get around and he doesn’t ruin the zipper because of how high it is on the shoe. I absolutely recommend these shoesb

The shoes are cute and daughters favorite. However, I will say the opening is not quite as wide as the more traditional styled Billy shoes. Yet, the shoes come in wide and the SMO and AFO fit okay. Only other issue is loop at back to help put the shoe on broke off on one after a couple weeks of wear.

First time we bought the wider Billy high tops and they are great! They work well with my daughter's SMOs from Cascade Dafo. In the usual high tops we had to remove the insole and her brace would wear a hole in the inside bottom of the shoe, now that we switched to the wide shoe we can keep the insole and haven't had this problem. My only very slight concern
We are faithful Billy customers for my son with ankle foot braces! Due to the placement of the zipper, this style is slightly less easy to put on as compared to the other high top style, but they’re still great. I love that they are also stylish and not “medical” looking.
These shoes were great for my sons AFOs. The short wrap works better than the regular zipper position for AFOs. The AFOs put a lot of stress on the zipper when it is lower on the shoe.I was really happy with these until they started to develop holes on the bottom after only two months. Usually we get wear and tear on the top from foot dragging but these holes are on the bottom. I imagine these holes are from some sort of dragging, but I’ve never had a shoe wear out so fast. I would hope to get at least six montages or more out of a shoe that cost $50.
Have been so happy with all the shoes we have purchased that make putting on over AFOs for the granddaughter so much less stressful. Also this company really and I mean really cares about what their customers think and they will continue to have us as customers, because of that . The picture is not of the blue ans grey shoes but we just got a pink pair and she loves those and wears them so much.
Compared to the original Billy’s these were not made as nice. They seem like a generic off brand of the many other Billy’s we’ve previously ordered. The insides are no where near as soft, and they feel like they were made extremely cheap.Hoping Billy’s goes back to the “old” ways that we loved for our daughter… SOFT, COMFY & HIGH QUALITY. These were not it!
We do like the look of these shoes, as it’s a different option from the high tops. However I wish they were lighter, they are a bit heavier than the high tops. Im curious to see if these zippers higher up away from the toes will last longer.
We have searched for easy, appropriate shoes for our residents who wear AFOs and Billys are our go-to shoes! We pre-set the laces of the high tops so staff are able to apply the shoes without having to make adjustments and then zip them up. Never hurts that they are super cute, too. . .
