Fit is HUGE!
I bought these for my boyfriend who is a UK 8.5. I got the 42/8. They looked like comedy clown shoes. We returned and went to Birkenstock store directly to try on instead, he ended up sizing down twice! The quality is great and they look very good, however be warned to size down once or twice. My only other criticism is the rose gold/copper buckles. I think this is a bit of an odd choice for this shoe. Dark silver or brassy gold would have been better and go with more things!... Show more

Great shoes, great shopping experience
I have chronic plantar fasciitis, which unfortunately lets me know pretty quickly which shoes are going to work for me. I've got theories, but it doesn't really matter why -- Birkenstocks are the one brand that reliably never give me ANY foot pain. I wear the Arizona's all summer, but this year I decided to get the clogs so I could extend my "sandal season" into the fall/winter a bit more. Any worries I had vanished instantly -- the clogs are comfortable and durable -- I'm not gonna lie, I've been wearing them all winter.Bonus points for REI - I bought them one day, and decided to exchange sizes the next. Not only was it super easy, they had a sale going on for members and they applied a 20% off without me even asking for it.... Show more

Great Shoe, Sizes Offered At DSW is Limited
Birkenstock Bostons are extremely comfortable; they mold to your feet over time and have great longevity provided they are cared for. Unfortunately for me, DSW only offers Bostons in the Medium/Narrow width. I was able to order these in the Brown oiled leather (I think they’re Habana Brown on the Birkenstock site) and compared them to a Regular/Wide. For me, the Regular/Wide width was more comfortable (especially with socks), so I ended up returning them for personal fitment issues. The Medium/Narrow length seemed to also be a tad bit smaller than that of the Regular/Wide.... Show more

Looks and feels great; sizes run a little bit big
I bought these clogs for my teenage son,He says that they are extremely comfortable, and they look great, too. I really like the colour. The sizes run a little bit big, compared to "normal" shoes. In particular, they are very "roomy" around the foot. This isn't a problem, because you can tighten the buckle. But, if you are between sizes, I would choose the smaller one.... Show more

LOve my Birkenstocks!
Went to John Lewis to buy a couple of new dresses, which I did successfully. Left the store, then felt something funny with my shoes. I had put on very old, fake Birkenstocks, as I had a blister on my heel. While standing outside John Lewis' they began to disintegrate, with large and small chunks falling off the black sole. I could hardly walk. So I went back inside with my daughter, trailing large and small bits of black sole in my wake. I sat down and asked my daughter and the staff to get me something I could wear and walk around in. They came back with these. Really embarassed about the mess I left behind, and they had two people with brushes and dustpans getting it up. But the staff could not have been nicer and more helpful. Not So Soft
The “new” soft footbed Birks are not very soft compared to the ones I bought about a dozen years ago. Here is a picture side by side, although you will not be able to determine softness from a photo. The footbed is taller, thicker than previous designs. I can still push down on the footbed of my older shoes and the cushion is about a quarter of an inch. The new version has almost no give, maybe a millimeter or two. They still fit well and will conform to my feet but the cushioning is virtually nonexistent and barely more than another pair I have without the “soft footbed”... Show more

The comfiest slippers ever
Initially I resisted buying Birkenstock shoes for years, after having a pair in the early 00's which left me 'crippled' after one wear. My dilemma for the last 20 years has been to find some slippers that are durable and lasting, yet have a hard sole so I can nip outside and aren't fur lined and allow my feet to breathe. I love the look of Birkenstocks, so decided that I needed to do some research as they seem a bit 'Marmite' regarding comfort. What I found was a guide suggesting to start at 30 minutes wearing and increase 15/30 minutes every day. The benefit of 'bedding in' with slippers is that I often sit down many times whilst wearing them, so I decided to give them a go and I'm so glad I did! I now find them so comfortable and I will never look at another brand ... I can't wait to now buy some Birkenstock sandals for my summer holidays...... Show more

They will be amazing once broken in!
If you're expecting a pair of shoes that will feel perfectlt comfortable out of the box or simply want to hop on the Boston trend, you might prefer the soft foodbed/suede version of these. But the oiled leather is GORGEOUS and sturdy in a way that you don't find in many shoes these days. I can tell they are going to last for years to come once they have molded to the shape of my feet. And they look really cute, too. I am a woman with mildly wide feet and I took the same size I take in my trusty Arizonas though I feel like the heel is maybe the slightest touch more narrow. One of the shoes arrived a bit crushed - I was surprised they weren't stuffed with anything. Nothing a little stuffing + patience couldn't solve but it did stall the break in process a bit because ... Very comftable
Firstly when purchasing online, finding the correct size was quite difficult. They seem to skip size 6 and jump from 5.5uk to 7uk. I instead went by the EU sizing and opted for a 39 which I thought in the uk was a 6. They arrived quickly, box was completely battered but shoes were in good condition. The colour on the website is a bit misleading. The website makes them look more brown than they are. I would say the true colour is more of a beige or taupe colour. They are very comfy though. I don't need to break them in like I did my Birkenstock sandals. Overall I'm pleased with them but just a few points to be aware of when purchasing... Show more

Very good but wore a bit small for me
I have worn Arizona sandals for the last 25 years or so, but not previously tried these closed Boston shoes. They're the usual high quality one expects from Birkenstock. Great footbed that's incredibly supportive and comfortable. By only issue is that with other Birkenstock shoes I wear a 7.5 and when 7.5s of Boston arrived they just felt a bit small. I exchanged for a pair of size 8 and while they are perhaps a little big for me, they are more what I find comfortable than the 7.5. Perhaps order your usual size but be prepared to return and replace with once size up if a bit small. Returning through click and collect at Waitrose is very easy.... Show more
