I've had these Mayaris for a year now and absolutely love them! The break in period was rough with the regular footbed, but that's expected. And once I got them broke in, they are just heaven in my feet. I loved the footbed so much, I bought a pair of Bostons for winter. I like the Mayari style because it's a little more feminine than most with the toe strap, and the stone color goes with everything. I actually just got them out today to clean and seal the cork for the summer, and did find two small cracks in the cork that I'm concerned with though....that shouldnt be happening after just a year. I sealed them though and I think they'll be ok. All in all, I love everything about them!... Show more

Comfortable
This is my first pair of Birkenstocks, and I wanted to try them because of the arch support with benefits to plantar fasciitis. I found them rather firm and stiff at first, with the strap around the big toe digging in on occasion. I continued to wear them in my house for a few more days to see how they felt over time. After a couple weeks, I notice they don't feel as firm and the strap around the toe no longer digs in, so I guess they needed a little break-in period. I do like the arch support, and my feet don't hurt as much after wearing them. I am curious about the Birkenstock soft footbed and may try a pair of those next.... Show more

Don’t buy in store! Price sticker ruined shoe
Do not purchase these or ANY birks in store. For some reason, they all have the price sticker on the cork footbed. Their price stickers have small security tags under. When I bought these and went to remove the sticker, slowly and carefully, all the cork under got peeled up by the sticker and the security tag was fully embedded in the cork. Who on earths idea was this??? For a $100+ shoe, they really need to reconsider this. Many of their other shoes have the sale sticker on the bottom of the sole. Why Nordstrom why!? When I returned the shoes later in the day, they offered an exchange which I said I would be willing if I got a shoe from the back without a sticker on the cork. Well they only had shoes in the back with stickers already on somehow. Very very ... MoreDo not purchase these or ANY birks in store. They don’t even have these shoes for discount ever. Not worth it at all from here especially in store. Save yourself and your money!!! Love birks though, so sad they’re doing theirs like this.... Flattering with a caveat
Flattering and covers a bunion on the side of the big toe. This is my favorite Birkenstock. It's easier for me to wear because I prefer the thong/slipper style over the slide. I worry less about whether it will slide off my feet when I'm walking or running around. The only caveat is that there is a weak spot in the design. After much wear, the toe strap simply pops out of the footbed! I had another color in this style that broke like that after 4 years of wear, and I saw other information online that others had experienced the same problem. It seems that repairing it would cost almost as much or more than buying a new pair. I still liked it enough that I bought a second pair to replace my broken one.... Show more

Footbed cracks
I bought these because I have narrower feet and these fit great. I got my usual birkenstock size. They are comfortable at first and fit very nicely. I wear these almost daily all year round being in a warm state. After a year (even when taking care of the footed and cork) they crack on the side and under the pad of your foot making these unbearable and not repairable. I ordered a replacement thinking it was me not taking care of them but my second pair did the same thing at the same length of time. Don't expect this style to last you. Google this style w the crack it is very common.i won't be buying a third pair at this point, going back to the old style.... Show more

Glad I got them!
After suffering for months from plantar fasciitis, I now have to be super careful about wearing shoes with good arch support. Once the hot weather came, I got out my Tevas and flip flops and soon discovered I can't wear them anymore for the pain starts to return! Nooooo! But I needed sandals. A friend who also had plantar fasciitis told me she wear these Birkenstocks all the time so I decided to give them a try. Couldn't be happier! The only thing I wish is I could wear them in the water as on super hot days me and my dog like to walk in the creek. But I know I can't so I won't! At this price don't want to risk ruining them.... Just bought my third pair
I just bought my third pair of these. I’ve owned 2 pairs before, and I wore each one until they broke. I live in Texas where it’s sandal season 7-8 months of the year, and I wear Mayaris at least 5 days a week during all of sandal season. One pair lasted me from spring 2018-fall 2020, the second pair from fall 2020 until last week (April 2024). So I just bought my third pair. The first 2 pairs were the vegan variety, and they both eventually failed at the same place—the toe strap snapped. This time I bought the real leather ones, so I’m curious to see if the toe strap will hold out better. Even though it’s annoying that the toe straps have always eventually failed, when I consider that I’ve gotten probably at least 600 wears out of each pair, I’m still thoroughly ... I am generally a women’s 7.5, but birkestock 37s fit me perfectly (and a 37, according to Birkenstock, should be equivalent to a women’s 6.)... Show more

Really Comfortable
I have been holding off on buying these for years, despite the advice of friends who swear by them. They just seemed like they would be uncomfortable because of the hard footbed. I finally gave in after returning a sandal from another pricy brand, which was very uncomfortable. I just couldn’t leave the store empty handed. I tried them on and walked around a bit, still feeling skeptical, I purchased them anyway. I’m a teacher and on my feet all day. I didn’t allow breaking in time, I just wore them all day at school. I have no regrets, they were extremely comfortable for the entire day! I have worn them practically every day ever since. Yes, they are expensive, but totally worth it. I never regret spending money on a good pair of shoes, which these definitely are. I ... MoreI have been holding off on buying these for years, despite the advice of friends who swear by them. I did find that they stretched out a bit after constant wear and have had to tighten the straps. No big deal. Also, this particular style is very cute, in my opinion.... Show more

Very fashionable and comfortable
This was my first pair of Birkenstocks. My sister LOVES hers and highly recommended them. I really like the metallic ones and they go very well with everything in my summer wardrobe, from casual jeans to something a little dressier. The bottom isn't super cushiony, but after wearing them for a while it forms to the bottom of your foot. I have a lot of foot problems, but these are very comfortable for extended periods of wear. I will definitely be getting another pair for next spring/summer!... Show more

Weird Color, Perfect Shoes
I have several pair of the Mayari sandal and really love them. I needed a Fall color, not a dark brown and not a light tan. The color I purchased is weird: not white, not light tan not patent, not oiled leather. It’s kind of a shiny seashell, sugar sand. It’s a perfect dark enough shade for a Fall and not don’t wear white after Labor Day white. Depending on what style Birkenstocks I buy I have to get different sizes. I bought my usual size, 38 regular width and it fits perfect.... Show more
