I did. my research before purchasing and settled on this product due to many positive reviews. I honestly don't know how I have survived 35 years of pet ownership and accidents without one of these. It did an amazing job of removing all traces of several pet accidents. I liked it so much that I continued to clean the carpeted stairs and an area rug. The set-up was easy and the clean up of the machine was a breeze. I liked it so much that I will soon be shopping for a full size Bissell to takele larger areas.My only very minor complaint is that there is no on-board storage for the two included cleaning nozzles. It was able to life stains off the side of my couch that were left there no thanks to a toddler who found a box of markers. (The traditional method of getting them off just seemed to make it worse. This was marker that was set into the fabric.) It is very easy to assemble, and to disassemble after use. Internally the suction hose goes through a number of bends that collect carpet remnants and over time, ie a month or so, they collect to a point that the entire suction hose is clogged. Yes we do follow the instructions to rinse out the hose with a bucket full of water, but to no avail the carpet fibers still get stuck in the series of bends. There is no way to disconnect the suction hose and clean it out, so one must disassemble the machine to deal with the problem. It does have great suction and is quite loud. Which is to be expected. For me, my experience has been great with this cleaner.

I LOVE this thing. If I were banished from civilization and could bring only three things with me, this might be item #3. I bought my first Bissell Spot Cleaner many years and it saw a great deal of use. With time, though, it suction power decreased (not completely, but noticeably) and the hose began to tear a little bit. There was never a question in my mind that I would buy another one. The impetus for replacement came along with a puppy we got a few months ago. Clean ups, when necessary, are so easy. The machine is virtually ready to go with a plug in. Just add water and cleaner. And what comes out of the carpet...you don't want to know. Highly recommend.
