The carpet was a bit 'crunchy' after it dried but honestly can't blame the machine... I had spot cleaned so many areas before buying this that I know there was plenty of cleaner residue in the carpets already. Next time I'll go over it again with clean water to pull out any remaining residue. Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised! If you've got pets and/or grandkids like me, this is a definite YES

This model of the Bissell Pro Heat 2X Revolution works well. This is my third Bissell carpet cleaner over the past 20 years. Here are some things to note about this model.1) The motor is the same as the others of this style so paying more will not make it a better or more powerful cleaner.2) This one does not have the pre-treat cleanshot sprayer that the (1986) purple model has.3) This brush roll is not removable for cleaning but the top cover snaps into place and can be removed for cleaning. Comes with a plastic clean out wand.4) You can purchase a brush roll clean out tray separately from Bissell or vacuum supply sites to help wash the rollers.5) If you leave the door open where the hose connects to the cleaner, it will not have proper suction so make sure ... Do not push and pull too fast. It will not pull the dirt and water efficiently. With the exception of the cleanshot sprayer and not being able to remove the brushroll this model has all the features of the more expensive purple (1986) model. You would have to decide if the extra expense is worth it for those features.I have removed the carpet from the main floor of my home due to having 3 dogs so I won't use this cleaner as much as the others I have owned. But this one is definitely an upgrade being easier to use and clean from previous models. The supply of cleaning solution provided in the Sam's Club bundle is a great value as well. I purchased the Bissell after reading many reviews ranking it higher than the Hoover Power Scrub that I previously owned. Out of the box, it seemed lightweight and cheaply made compared to the Hoover. This turned out to be a bonus as it made for easy maneuvering compared to the heavy and bulky Hoover that always left me with sore arms and back for days.We had the trifecta of stains - pet, heavy foot traffic and food/drink spills. The carpet is over 20 years old, so no miracles were performed, but the Bissell made a very significant and noticeable difference. The biggest con of the Bissell is that the dirty water tank doesn't hold as much as it looks capable of and requires emptying more frequently than is convenient. The biggest plus to this unit is that it comes ... There is a tool included that cleans out any grime or pet hair that becomes trapped and also has teeth to run over the roller brush to remove anything trapped in the bristles. Everything is fresh and clean for the next use.I think there are better units out there for heavy duty use but for removing surface stains and general refreshing, I have no regrets purchasing this unit.

Great carpet cleaner. I have two cats and a dog that go in and out all day. A carpet cleaner in my house is a must. I have now used this cleaner on the floors and the attachment on the couch. The best thing about it is it comes apart so much to clean after use to really rinse everything and get all the pet hair out. I read a lot of reviews that said you could only drain the dirty water from a small hole and therefore couldn't really clean out the dirty water tank. Whoever writes that hasn't read the directions on cleaning and storing. Yes, while you are in the middle of cleaning and need to just dump the dirty water so you can continue on it is a small hole that you use to do that. But when you are done and ready to really rinse the machine out for storage the other end opens up and you pull out the piece on the inside and can completely and easily clean out the dirty water tank. The piece does come out all the way. Some reviewers say it doesn't but it does. I also like the storage tray that it has slots for some of the attachments so everything stores into one place. I do not like that clean water and soap have to be mixed together in the clean water tank. The measure lines are helpful but when I have a very small mess that needs taking care of even the lowest marked level is too much soap and water. So I ended up just eyeballing it when I needed to clean a small spot on my couch. I hate to pour in more to the measure lines and waste the soap. Also because of this you cannot switch between a soap rinse and a water only rinse. I like to rinse with clean water after using soap to make sure there is no soap residue left behind to attract more dirt. To do that with this machine I have to empty the clean container and refill with just water. Doable but my previous machine had the water and soap separate so you could switch between the two. Not a deal breaker but a nice feature when it does that. Overall the pros outweigh the cons and I am happy with my purchase.
I cannot stress how amazing the ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Carper Cleaner is. We have two kids under age 5 and two dogs over 13 years old. Our older dog is nearing the end of her life. She has serious skin cancers that bleed and ooze (sorry to be gross). The ProHeat 2X successfully pulled out all of the stains from our dogs and kids. I ran two deep clean cycles on 2 of our area rugs and when I was shocked at the amount of dirt that came out of the carpet. Really, I was shocked and grossed out by what the ProHeat 2X pulled out of the carpets. This cleaner is my first ever, so I don't have a benchmark to compare it to. But the evidence I can share that has cemented my belief that having a carpet cleaner is as important as having a good vacuum. Especially if you ... But the evidence I can share that has cemented my belief that having a carpet cleaner is as important as having a good vacuum. Especially if you have kids and/or pets. Filling the reservoir is easy. Emptying the drain tank is easy. Removing the vacuum cowl and brush housing is very easy. Cleaning the brush housing is effortless with the included self-clean base. The cord has a great swivel catch so it's easy to unravel the cord. I've used the pre-treat spray nozzle much more than I thought and have found that it works very well to loosen tough stains and any dried crud/debris for easier extraction. The unit has large wheels which is great. It is very easy to roll onto and off of carpets/rugs that have a height difference from rest of the floor. You don't have to fight with it to get it to cross over thresholds or obstacles, the large wheels provide plenty of range of motion to make moving around very easy. Bottom-line I definitely recommend the ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Carpet Cleaner.

I feel like I made a huge mistake purchasing this product. I took in a dog in my home that had house training issues. I'm used to female dogs, and this is a make. Things were fine for a while but now he is marking his spots in my house. I bought this carpet cleaner to quickly remove urine stains and smells hoping to have a fresh smelling home. No, this vacuum is absolutely terrible and do yourself a favor and do not spend $300 some dollars on this useless cleaner. It uses so much water and doesn't collect a lot back in return leaving the carpets quite wet after cleaning and now I'm wondering if it's even soaking up the urine at all. I can see it soaking up the urine marks since the bottom part is clear, but then the vacuum itself begins to leave behind a gross ... MoreI feel like I made a huge mistake purchasing this product. I can see it soaking up the urine marks since the bottom part is clear, but then the vacuum itself begins to leave behind a gross smell. I clean out the dirt tank and take apart all components before and after each clean but the vacuum stinks literally and it's effectiveness. When I'm done with the vacuum, it leaves dirty residue water all over while I roll it toward the back room to clean it out. This product does not even come close to standing up to what it is supposed to be doing. It's big, heavy, and bulky, and not fun to maneuver around especially since it leaks dirty water. The soap squirt thing on the handle stopped working relatively quick, and the soap squirt nozzle on the base shoots out almost pointlessly leaving too much water all over that's not all being sucked back up. I feel like since I've been using this vacuum it has been so ineffective that I felt like my situation is worse than it was before I began using this steamer. I do not at all recommend this for removing pet stains, whatsoever. This thing cost way too much money for it not to have much effectiveness.

After having rented and used Bissell's commercial Big Green Machine I decided to buy this unit for my own home use... mainly on the basis of cost levels. I've used the unit once today for a total of about 3 hours and found that, unless you rush your use of the unit and treat it like a common vacuum cleaner, it works well enough... but there are a couple of qualifications. First, in filling the clean-water tank the markings on the outside of the tank are in WHITE in which can make it rather tough to read the volume levels in the tank. Switching to a black ink for the printing on the tank would alleviate this problem. Second, the unit is rather LOUD... especially in the upper sound register. While the unit overall is loud (as is to be expected) the suction motor emits sound in the high frequency range (1000-2000hz) that makes it suspect for long period use without adequate hearing protection... something that isn't mentioned anywhere in the printed material supplied with the unit. A pair of standard hearing protectors or at least a set of foam ear plugs will go a long way towards reducing this. Third, after rather prolonged use - a total of 3 hours the first day, I noticed that the motor/pump housing (near the on/off switch) was quite warm to the touch... well above human body temperature... around 140˚F as measured with an infrared thermometer. Not having any other unit(s) to test, I don't know whether or not this is the normal operating temperature for this model. Lastly, for those who claim that this model leaves the carpet extremely wet, I can only offer that this isn't a standard vacuum cleaner... the user needs to go much, much slower on both the push and pull strokes in order to get sufficient suction to remove as much moisture as possible.
After having rented and used Bissell's commercial Big Green Machine I decided to buy this unit for my own home use... mainly on the basis of cost levels. The rental unit cost me about $98 for a two-day rental (including a $30 deposit) so.a three-times-year rental worked out to about the same as buying this unit (including solution costs).I've used the unit once today for a total of about 3 hours and found that, unless you rush your use of the unit and treat it like a common vacuum cleaner, it works well enough... but there are a couple of qualifications.First, in filling the clean-water tank the markings on the outside of the tank are in WHITE in which can make it rather tough to read the volume levels in the tank. Switching to a black ink for the printing on the tank would alleviate this problem.Second, the unit is rather LOUD... especially in the upper sound register.
