I am a big fan of onions, so I was glad for the chance to try this onion-flavoured gravy that, even better, takes very little time and effort to make. It’s great for someone like me especially who not only struggles sometimes with feeling a bit worn out after a long and/or busy day, but also with simply not being very interested in spending very much time in the kitchen due to poor mental health and stress, some of it physical too (Having a bad back is the worst.). This gravy requires only that you mix 20 grams of the granules with half a pint of boiling water (though you can alter the amount of water to change the gravy’s consistency to something thicker or the opposite), meaning that a wide range of people can prepare it, and easily. It’s also devoid of any animal ... MoreI am a big fan of onions, so I was glad for the chance to try this onion-flavoured gravy that, even better, takes very little time and effort to make. It’s also devoid of any animal product, meaning that vegetarians can enjoy it as well. I tend to use Bisto’s gravies every so often on nights where I have pre-made chilled mashed potatoes for dinner. This gravy is quite savoury, so I would very likely enjoy them with some sausage (which are usually vegetarian style) on the side as well. Its nutrition label is quite green (ie, reasonable for one’s health), but watch out for that salt! I can’t wait to see how many different things I can get away with having this with, but I do hope that Bisto will look into substituting palm soon somehow.

Bistos gravy granule range has become a bit of a staple in my kitchen for the past year or so, and for a few reasons. Firstly, theyre super convenient youre just some freshly boiled water and a few seconds of mixing the 2 together away from having tasty gravy literally whenever youd like and, likewise, for whatever youd like. Because of the format being in granule form you can even use less or more water to alter the consistency of the resulting gravy, making it either thicker or more runny. Whats great also is that these gravy granules, though meatflavoured, are not made with any meat whatsoever, but manage quite nicely to make one believe otherwise. Though Im not a vegan or even a vegetarian, I typically dont tend to eat as much meat as Id like for related ... MoreBistos gravy granule range has become a bit of a staple in my kitchen for the past year or so, and for a few reasons. Bistos gravies allow me to make fake sausages and the like almost like the real savoury thing. For example, I love using this meatless but convincingly beefflavoured gravy to make what would typically be some pretty uninteresting vegan sausages into a much more exciting meal, with both the sausages and accompanying mashed potatoes covered with the stuff. Though the recipe could admittedly use some tweaking, these granules are thankfully generally healthy. Even better, they also have a reduced salt version, which is worth trying as well.

I have been buying Bisto Gravy Granules for years. Switching between this, this regular and the reduced salt. Then I looked closer and was shocked to see if you want to reduce the salt content, you more than double the sugar content! So let's break this down per 100g. SALT: Reduced Salt version is 10.3g, Normal Bisto Gravy Granules 14.33g. (that's 40% more). SUGAR: Reduced salt version 25.2g of sugar. Normal Bisto Gravy 12.2g. (thats over 106% more sugar!). Unless I were to do a side by side. I genuinely can't tell the different between them. I don't use this on its own, granules alone just don't have the depth I like, so I use this exclusively as a thickening agent, adding it to my veggie water and roasting juices, dollop of dijon and glob of redcurrant jelly and ... MoreI have been buying Bisto Gravy Granules for years. I shall only buy this regular version now as I'd rather have a little extra salt than a quarter of the tub being sugar!!!

Really nice gravy and so quick and easy to prepare. Good with a surprising number of different foods & dishes. Good flavour. Add some extra falvour with onion granules when serving with chicken. Also like to stir in some garlic when our sausages are a bit spicier than the usual kind. As a vegetarian it is hard to find gravies but this is excellent. Made thick and poured over mashed potatoes.
I lived in England during the 1980s. To my delight I discovered traditional Sunday Lunch, always a roastedmeat, Chicken, Beef, Pork, adorned with potatoes and gravy and a vegetable. It seemed every little pub and roadhouse excelled in gravy...then I discovered Bisto. I prefer granules to powder, beef being my favorite. There are so many varieties to choose from. My post office lady was very curious when the package arrived and when I said "Its gravy!" she had to hear all about it. I wouldn't be surprised if she's ordered Bisto to make extra gravy for her holiday meals. Never stop offering!
