Overall the harness is very comfortable. Super light! Slides on easily and I love not having to adjust 3+ strap buckles. The construction of the harness is robust and I can see it lasting me a long time. I do find the adjustment strap on the rear of the harness a little difficult to adjust but once you have it set, there's no need to adjust it again. Leg loops differ from one size harness to another, I would take this into account when purchasing. If you fluctuate in weight or wear thicker clothing in cold seasons, that's important to consider before purchase.

As a beginner climber, I was looking for a harness that would not only be safe and secure, but also comfortable during long climbing sessions. The Black Diamond Solution harness exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort. The lightweight design and breathable material kept me cool and comfortable, while the innovative waist belt and leg loop construction provided a snug and secure fit. I was also impressed with the adjustable rise feature, which allowed me to customize the fit for my body. Overall, the Black Diamond Solution harness is a great investment for anyone looking for a comfortable and reliable harness for their climbing adventures.

This is by far the most comfortable harness I have ever used. I have only used in the climbing gym so far, but it has far outperformed my expectations. I really appreciate the wide leg loops that distribute the load so evenly. Coming down off of the 40 foot wall is totally comfortable even if I don't have it cinched down completely tight. This harness is also the easiest I have ever used to get on and off! There is only one buckle at the waist that is both easy to tighten/loosen and extremely secure while climbing; the leg loops have elastic closures instead of buckles (which at first I didn't think I'd like, but now I love the range of motion!).My recommendation is to go to Black Diamonds website for sizing info. Check your waist and leg measurements closely ... MoreThis is by far the most comfortable harness I have ever used. I'm a brand new climber with less than two months of experience. I purchased this harness after a recommendation from a friend who is very skilled. I love this harness! It's so lightweight and comfortable. I used rented gear for the first few sessions and had no idea that harnesses could be so thin and at the same time feel sturdy enough to keep me safe. The leg loops are a little tight but it's only noticeable when I put it on. After I start climbing I barely notice the harness anymore. I haven't used any of the gear loops on this yet but they feel well-made and seem like they'd serve their purpose well. Definitely going to stick with this brand unless I find something that's way better, which I think is unlikely.
I loved my Petzl Sama harness, but when it wore out, I tried upgrading to the BD Solution harness, because reviews seemed to indicate it was even more comfortable.Things I liked:Very comfortable for walking aroundVery comfortable for climbing/hangingCrotch loop attach point seems reinforced with metal-- very strong and durableDidn't like:The inner side of the leg loops pinched and scraped me when I was belaying...much less comfortable than the Sama in this function. The whole harness feels rubbery-- some may like this- I found it harder to pack away.No weight-bearing gear loopNo convenient and easy to use stretchy loop to tuck extra waist belt inches into.
I bought this harness on recommendation from my partner, who is also a climbing guide. He found the material to be way more durable with heavy use, so I was excited to try it after my current harness got shredded pretty quickly in Joshua Tree. I was frustrated to find after opening it that the gear loops on the Women's Solution Guide harness that I ordered are significantly smaller than his Men's version. There is no reason that a female guide or trad climber would need to carry less gear than a male guide / climber. There is nowhere near the space I'd need for long routes with a double rack, slings, and all the other tools I need while guiding / climbing. Super disappointed and will be returning this harness.
While these were made for moving in the mountains, I bought them for use at work as a high rise window washer. A lot of people will use regular bulky rubber style rain pants to stay dry but I have always hated how those feel and the lack of stretch that comes with them. In the few days that I have used these, I like how mobile and stretchy they are and I have always been a fan of integrated belts as they are much more comfortable under a harness than wearing a separate belt.I was expecting them to be slightly thicker than they are but that's what comes with buying online and in reality they will work well for winter months with a pair of long underwear underneath. In the spring and fall they should be the perfect weight. My long underwear also stayed dry despite having plenty of water get on these while working so so far the claimed water treatment on them seems legitimate. I am curious to see how it holds up through a few more months of work. I would be plenty confident wearing these in the mountains with the possibility of rain.I got these in a size medium, I'm 5'11 175lbs and normally wear a 32"32" and they fit very well on me.
I was having issues with my old harness. It was pinching my thighs when I hung the rope (especially while belaying) and had gotten a touch small in the waist. (It's fault, certainly not mine...) After all of the hype about this harness I decided to go for it despite being a bit concerned about the non-adjustable leg loops. I got a size medium and I'm 5'3"/132 lbs. I've been lining in it a few times a week for about 6 weeks top roping and sport climbing and it completely lives up to the hype. My former harness was never as comfortable as this one is (even when it fit me well). I can't explain why, but the leg loops are comfortable (and the non-adjustable factor ahant at all been an issue for me.) I’ve had many harnesses over the years and this one is by far my favorite for sport or gym climbing. Very comfortable and quick on/off with the fixed leg loops and single buckle. I have larger/athletic thighs - harnesses tend to cause pain on my inner thigh - not this one. I’m 5’11, 190, low body fat and have a size Large. The waist couldn’t be much larger or it wouldn’t fit - I could probably wear a Medium on the waist but the leg loops on the Large fit perfectly. Highly recommend.
This is my 2nd harness. My first was that yellowish/green momentum that I still see many ppl with. That one was great and I had it for 10 years (though I had a 3 year hiatus from climbing). I wanted to try this bc of the fixed leg loops- a plastic piece on one my old ones buckles broke so it was always hanging loose. It surprised me that there is a break in period, maybe 5-10 sessions, where the waist buckle now makes it to the 2nd loop, and the fixed leg loops are no longer uncomfortable- And they really were! I would not say that I have disproportionate thigh girth.2 gripes: occasionally I feel a painful thigh pinch that I can’t quite figure out, I messed around with the elastic cord in the back and it hasn’t happened as often but it was painful (and infuriating) ... MoreThis is my 2nd harness. This will be noticeable if this isn’t your first harness. Visually it’s easy to tell and I’ve seen other ppl with older versions of this harness where the loops are deeper and turned out, looking the same as my old harness. It’s not a huge difference, but when you reach to it, it’s like a small pocket on pants that requires attention to get the carabiner just right so you can remove it. Sure, we can get used to this- but why?Final points: durability seems bulletproof, I can still use the bag to keep it organized. Get this when on sale. I have used this in gym extensively and outdoors on only 2 trips thus far.
