The noise levels are similar to other robot vacuums on the market, perhaps a little quieter at times. This falls inline with other “bagless” robots, having a dust bin. The advantage is the Ecovac is self-emptying via its docking station. I have found this as a plus; it removes the need to clean the main bin on the robot after each cleaning or when notified the bin is full without delaying cleaning of your home. The anti-tangle technology seems to work fairly well with eliminating hair buildup during cleaning around the brushes and edges as found in other models using an older known “brush” style as this utilizes the newer cleaning rubber style brush and rake to prevent the hair build-up. There’s a number of things to consider when choosing a robot vacuum and Ecovac seems to meet the cleaning power, ease of use, functionality, and suction.Mobile App.The Ecovac is easy to setup, user-friendly app design and intro to the robot and all of its included features. Within the Ecovac App, there’s ways to set and prioritize the cleaning processes for areas of mapped throughout your home. The app does have similar scheduling features for scheduling times the robot should start and run your homes dedicated cleaning process and area specific cleaning processes. You can have various schedules set, this includes floor cleaning plans. For those of us with children/pets, there is a “Child-Lock” setting to prevent accidental touch starts via the robot. It is more of a lockout to the Ecovac. One feature I have found to like is the “Real-Time Location” of the vacuum while in use and movements. This enables you to see where your vacuum is actually at during it cleaning process as I have not seen this feature in other available robot vacuums. In-app settings include specialized options not found like the “Do Not Disturb” feature when the robot is set to auto resume during its cleaning process for your home. There are times where the robot will adjust its cleaning based on the determined remaining battery life and return home to charge enough to continue cleaning or reach the end of its cleaning cycle.Home/Floor Mapping.Initial use does require home mapping to create an initial floor map to your home. The home areas mapping is clear and accurate after complete and you may run multiple floor mappings for different areas and level to your home.Bagless Self-Emptying Station.Removes the need to constantly empty and check the dustbin is not full or for the robot to stop it cleaning cycle due to a full dust bin awaiting human interaction to empty its dust bin. The dustbin and charge station is around the size of a small office bin. The dust bin does hold more than you would think as I have yet to empty it after almost a month of daily cleaning. Mileage on the bin empty cycle would vary widely depending on the size of your home, ages of children, and number of pets. Our household is a standard family of five with elementary to high school children with no pets if this helps to gauge.Mopping.The Ecovac mopping feature works fairly-well when using it as daily spot and mop option. It does keep the floors clean and looking good, but I do not feel the mop is truly designed for heavy cleaning. While the mop is in use, the Ecovac tends to avoid carpeted areas; to clean carpeted areas the mop module should be removed as it is not required to be attached for normal use.Overall, the Ecovac does meet the worry free, hands-off, and family friendly solution to a busy home.

Then I went to the app to command Deebot to go to its base and started charge. Setting up the app was relatively straightforward, it walks you step-by-step on how to connect Deebot to the Internet using Wi-Fi.At this point, the app said I had 60% battery, But it’s a good idea to fully charge it before getting started.I’m very impressed with my Deebot. It cleans up surprisingly well and even though it won’t clean your whole house in 10 minutes, it will eventually get there if you give it enough time. After 25 minutes of operating in the vacuum only mode, The battery was down to 85%. That’s not bad if you ask me. At that rate, it will last several hours without needing a recharge. When it is done, or when you commend, Deebot will go back to its charging station and empty out its contents, or you can just empty it out manually. Very easy to empty it out manually. Just popped the lid, take out the trash container by pulling on the handle, open the latch in the back and that’s it!Deebot is not a toy even though it feels like it, it’s my favorite electronic right now. But it should be properly cared for and don’t let kids or pets disturb it. Be very careful if you are using it upstairs so that it doesn’t fall down the stairs, the instruction manual recommends you block any access to the stairs because of this.As soon as I started for the first time, I noticed that Deb goes around your house to “map” it. After that, it works itself from the outside in. And then it doesn’t cross patterns to fully cover every single inch. So far, it has not gotten stuck anywhere, I’m impressed on how well it’s able to navigate every obstacle, it’s biggest enemy that I have our extension cords on the floor because he’s got tangled a couple times but both times it managed to get free. I have an area rug and it went over that as well with no problems. When you at the mop attachment, it also does a very nice job at cleaning your floors, as well as sweeping it. Overall, I am very impressed with Deebot. It looks and feels very premium in quality. It is made well, it is designed well and overall I am very happy with it.

Ecovacs has a lot of advertising on their website about how this needs less replaceable parts than others, and I'm inclined to agree. The parts that the app tracks and suggests replacing are all parts that can eventually get worn down, as opposed to the Roomba model equivalent which has a vacuum bag that needs replacing when it decides it's full. Here are some of its features and my thoughts on each:Auto-empty station:This is where the Deebot gets it right. Having a vortex model to empty the robot and not requiring a replaceable bag is ideal. Thus far, in my home with two cats (and a lot of hair), this does not get full during a week of daily use. It's really easy to detach from the base and empty as needed, and as mentioned - the capacity is great."Advanced cleaning mastery" - compared to the Roomba's method of cleaning and mapping a room, this seems far more efficient when working on carpet. It seems to move faster but I don't notice that it's somehow missing dirt or dust. That said, I wouldn't call its mopping ability "advanced" - I had a pet stain near a corner that it wasn't able to mop up. When I used my Swiffer Wet, it came up with one spray and wipe (meaning it was a light stain). I'm sure the vibrating mop concept works well, but it seems to miss the edges."Intelligent Cleaning Unleashed" - this is where I was most disappointed. This is a combination vacuum and mop. It has interchangeable modules, one that handles the mopping (fluid and pad) and another that seems to increase its capacity. The increased capacity module works as you'd expect. When the mopping module is installed - if your base station is on carpet (as mine is), the Deebot will refuse to come off of its base because it doesn't want to "activate the mop on carpet." However, if I manually place it on the tile part of our floor, and tell it to continue, it will happily mop that floor and then return to its base (by going over carpet). I'm reasonably certain this is something that can be updated via software at some point, and I really hope it does. This way I'd be able to leave the mop module in and have it cleaning daily - and maybe I'd only have to touch it on weekends to empty the bin and add more cleaning fluid.Ecovac Home App: the app is semi-intuitive, and you can find most common features easily. However, there's no link to any sort of guide or manual to follow. The videos it links are more about features and less about how to use the Deebot itself. Further, there are a number of confusing language choices which seem like mistranslations from another language. In summary, while this is more affordable than a similarly featured Roomba, it's lacking in features and support quality make it difficult to recommend. I think much of this could be improved with software updates, which the website claims happens every two weeks, but in its current state I wouldn't want to use it.

I don’t get some placement I have seen in other houses but that's another story.I have had an Ecovascs before and I know it creates precise maps of your home, enabling efficient and intelligent cleaning paths. In its first run or mapping I didn’t get what it was doing, it quickly and accurately mapped our home, identifying obstacles and furniture with precision. It efficiently navigate through different rooms, avoiding collisions and maneuvering around furniture with ease. That was next level cool. What I like the most is that if something pops up on the map it automatically knows to go around it. I've not seen all robot vacuums be this smart. The mapping feature is accessible through the Ecovacs Home app, which provides a visual representation of your home's layout. You can use the app to define virtual boundaries, no-go zones, and specific cleaning areas, giving you granular control over the robot's cleaning path when it is done. With my previous vacuum I also labeled areas and things so it was easy to understand. The vacuum effectively picked up dust, debris. I will have to take its word that it can handle pet hair on both hard floors and carpets. I only have carpets and a small tile surface in my kitchen and no pets. But for my layout it definitely gets the job done. I do not use the mop feature so that's another thing. I'm going to have to take it to work on but it definitely looks cool. If I ever move I'm excited to try it.The auto-empty station is a convenient feature that automatically empties the robot's dustbin after each cleaning cycle. The station uses a powerful suction system to transfer the debris from the robot's dustbin to a larger dust bag within the station. This eliminates the need for frequent manual emptying, making the cleaning process more hands-off, as well as making cleanup of the auto empty station easy as well because you only empty it once. I found that it holds maybe 10 days worth of vacuuming for me. But I also didn't let it fill up too much because I don't want to push it till the limit. It says it works with voice control integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, allowing you to control the robot with voice commands. I can only attest to Google because I don't have an Alexa and my Google understands. I added it via the home app on my phone and now it knows that I have a vacuum in the house. It is a connected brand that Google is familiar with and integrates with seamlessly. I highly recommend this product to everybody regardless of home, size, layout, pets and non pet owner. Everyone!!!

[Rewarded Review] Efficient and Effortless

The Ecovac vacuum has changed how we cleaned our house. I have had robotic vacuums since the 20/10 from low models to high-end models, and this has been a delight to use. It’s easy - i’m not joking, nor am I lying from unboxing to cleaning the start button, the Eco vac has made it seamless and easy. When the box was first delivered, I couldn’t believe that what I thought was a large vacuum is a large vacuum fit in this box. It was perfectly packaged with extra foam and disassembled to be easily put back together after five minutes, maybe less of setting it up physically and through the app step-by-step process we were ready to roll. The app allowed me to map my house first before cleaning and it actually cleaned it while it was mapping the house I live in a rancher ... MoreThe Ecovac vacuum has changed how we cleaned our house. The app allowed me to map my house first before cleaning and it actually cleaned it while it was mapping the house I live in a rancher so I only need one floor to be scanned, but the vac allows you to save up to three rooms in case you live on multiple floors and would like to bring the vacuum around. Since set up, I literally have had to put zero effort in managing this system. The Eco that goes around cleans my house. It’s able to jump up on and over small thresholds, cords, and other small obstacles. Now I can’t jump over like a toy, but I can fix over something like a doorway, threshold, jam, or power, cord, and things of that size and nature. The vacuum relies on lidar technology to map your home understand it surroundings and improve its performance. As I mentioned with the set up after one time of map in the house, it essentially knew everything. I’ve only needed to improve the map one time through the app which allows you to combine rooms if the vacuum accidentally thinks one room is multiple rooms or if you need to make boundaries or other adjustments. It was honestly at once and done process however I think because the lidar technology is so well done, including with the app that this vacuum is amazing and one of the best in the market. The lidar technology if you do not know what is 3-D mapping of your home. On top of the vacuum, there is circular cover, which sticks out and houses the lidar system. It’s design was also thought of as it has not got caught on any of my pieces of furniture or items around the house. The housing was put low enough that I can go under almost every single cabinet that I have.I never used any mop system that came with a robotic vacuum until now. From unboxing I knew this one was built different. It comes with two removal, washable pads, and a tank that swaps out from your typical and normal vacuum system, but what’s nice is that it doesn’t lose the vacuum functionality so it’s still vacuums and then mop your floors. Once you fill the tank up, I used warm water and put a clean pad on. I said it in my kitchen floor and began cleaning my kitchen. It shakes the pad vigorously which you can adjust from low to high. I leave it on high and it does a great job While only using water. Once it was done cleaning my floor it was better than if I mopped it, which I just did a few days ago.The vacuum also knows not to use the mopping system on carpets at first mine had it struggled with that as it was trying to mop the floor of my dining room, which is carpet, but it has not done this again and has avoided mopping the carpet since. As I previously noted, the app is amazing from Ecovac. Downloadable on the App Store and Google play store this is a well made application that you will enjoy using while keeping your house clean. The app allows you to see your full mapping of your home and different floors. It allows you to set up schedules and within the schedule section you can select a variety of options like which areas you want the home cleaned at one time and you can set a variety of these or you could just set up a general cleaning schedule and put auto and it will go and clean everything for you without any more thought. As I said prior, you can save up to three different maps, which helps with different floors or different levels of your home. There’s a variety of different settings and options. You can change a lot of which have an auto function to again make things easy. The most important feature with this app is that you can access it from anywhere you do not have to be connected to the same Wi-Fi system. I can be at work and realize oh I forgot to vacuum the living room and click start from my car, work or anywhere. The final highlight is how the system recharges empties itself and the bagless station. There is a setting in the app called auto empty which allows the vacuum to continuously go back to the station empty and go back to cleaning and resume exactly where it left off. Note that when I was setting up my vacuum, I noticed that this feature was off. Maybe it was just me, but I would highly recommend making sure this feature is turned on. The device will also go back to the Station if it needs to charge and resume cleaning, but I have noticed that this vacuum has cleaned my entire house and has gone back to the station. I checked the app and my vacuum is still in the 70 to 80% battery range. The station is great one click button and you remove the backless container covered over a trash bin click another button. It empties close it up and put it back in the Station. You’re done no more bags on a smart robotic vacuum. After many days of use, I can say that this is hands-down, one of the best smart and bagless robotic vacuums on the market. The Ecovac is efficient, easy and effortless, which I can say in confidence.

[Rewarded Review] Full featured entry level self-emptying robot

I was looking for a self-emptying robot vacuum, but didn't want to pay too much since I already have an expensive unit for the larger downstairs area. This Deebot N20 Pro Plus by Ecovacs came below my budget and is not only self-emptying, but bagless, meaning you don't have to spend extra on bags every year. This is my first robot from Ecovacs and I was a little cautious about what corners were cut to get the price down. I'm happy to report, I didn't notice anything left out; this is full featured.Setup was simple once you get the app; pop off the top cover and push the Wi-Fi button, connect with the robot to connect with your 2.4/5ghz home Wi-Fi and you're done. I was impressed with how quickly the N20 mapped the house, it was 15 minutes and done. It basically went to about the center of each room, then came out. It uses laser radar mapping which doesn't need to enter every crevice to map an area. I had a hard time figuring out what the robot labelled as rooms that didn't seem to exist. It was only after the first cleaning run, did I figure out how to make corrections to the map by either combining or splitting rooms until it made sense. So, maybe the radar is too strong and sees through some interior walls, small price for quick measurements. Going over thick area rugs and thresholds was tackled by the unit detecting, backing a bit, then speeding up to overcome them. The base unit is bagless and employs a cyclonic extraction method which pulls debris more effectively and visually, letting you see how much particulate was cleaned. When filled, pop it off and empty the bin using the gravity release latch; some debris gets stuck in the tight space where the cone and outer walls are. When switching to the mop, I noticed that the dust bin is not located in back where you would expect, but in the middle of the unit. The back piece serves as a pass-thru that is also found on the mop attachment. Mopping is quite different than my other unit in that it vibrates in a forward/backward motion rather than side to side. It gets the job done just as good as my more expensive unit, and thanks to the pass-thru, empties the dust bin for you.Only a few minor things for possible improvement: making the laser radar mapping weaker so it doesn't see thru walls and combine rooms, obstacle avoidance is great for solid objects, but not semi-solid things like shoes or clothes. It wouldn't hurt to add a sample bottle of cleaning solution for the mopping attachment. It's a great entry-level self-emptying bagless robot vacuum and I'm happy with it.

[Rewarded Review] Great for open layout but works with all spaces.

The Ecovacs DEEBOT N20 PRO PLUS has been an interesting addition to my house. I have tile in the kitchen, hardwood floors in the hallway, and my mancave (where I test most of my review products). The robovac works best in the kitchen since there’s more space for it to move around, but it also makes quick work of my small mancave. I’ll admit, while a great product, I still rely on a traditional broom to get into those tighter areas. If this could hit corners better, it might replace my Swiffer jet entirely. The mopping feature is decent for light upkeep, keeping the floors looking good as long as you’re not expecting deep cleaning. On hardwood and tile, I would say it’s pretty reliable. The app has this great feature that allows you to use schedule cleanings, uses lidar to map out the home, and sets up zones. I will mention that the app worked equally well on both my Android and iPhone.I wouldn’t say it’s fully part of my routine yet but that's only due to the floorplan in my home. If you have a larger/ more open layout, it’s definitely worth considering. In smaller, more cluttered areas, it might struggle a little, but for high-traffic spots like the kitchen, it’s a good option to have around.4/5

[Rewarded Review] Solid with Great Features

I recently had the opportunity to own the new Deebot N20 Pro Plus robot vacuum and decided to pull the trigger after being somewhat hesitant given I already own robot vacs from Irobot, Neato & Shark. Soo far I am glad I decided to add another robot and it has far exceeded any expectations that I had in the beginning. Since arriving & I first started using it, I have been really pleased by its performance and especially the mopping feature. The associated app from Ecovacs that comes with it is simple to install and fairly straightforward & in line with apps from most other brands with all of the functionality controls that you would expect. Having the mopping ability in combination with the vacuuming is an absolute must for me from this point forward. The N20 Pro handles all of your standard flooring surfaces, including carpet, hardwood, vinyl and tile floors with ease. I have consistently been able to average at least about 40 mins of runtime on each cycle which I have setup for every other day as I live alone, however when its battery does run low, it has automatically returned to its charging base and has never been found "dead" and alone in the middle of some room or under a bed.Overall, I have been highly impressed with the Deebot N20 Pro Plus robot vacuum and will recommend it to anyone that is in the market!

Hello,So I have owned a few robot vacuums and I am pretty impressed with this version and I will list the why below:Information: I live in an apartment both carpeted and tile floors. Around 820 square feet of spacePositives: this is an incredible change! I had a previous ECOVACS that I liked but hated having to order dust bags, this huge compartment that dirt and cat hair etc goes into is fantastic! Great design and perfect size. Also can’t say enough about the app. It helps my vacuum avoid eating my curtains that hang too low to the ground. I set up boundaries and the N20 does a great job avoiding those areas. Now quality, It’s new and maybe that is the reason but man… This cleans better then my more expensive versions from other companies and even my older ... MoreHello,So I have owned a few robot vacuums and I am pretty impressed with this version and I will list the why below:Information: I live in an apartment both carpeted and tile floors. You can see the path it takes on the carpet and it does not leave any area unclean.Negatives: Some users say it is quieter? I have not noticed it being quieter if it is it’s barely less then my other ECOVACS.I had some issues with setting it up on my WiFi but that was user error and ECOVACS support was great (this isn’t a negative per say but it took longer to get app working for me due to my WiFi having too many hide this or hide that features)Overall: Sorry, but other brands need to catch up ECOVACS is just so much better. It is recommended big time.

[Rewarded Review] What a great helper!!!
15 November 2024

I want to start this review by saying that I look at "robot vacuums" in the same light as AI. I think that if you look at a robot vac as a helper and not a panacea for all of the cleaning that your space may need, then it's much easier to appreciate them! I have two kids and a dog and there are crevices that no automatic device will probably ever be able to reach BUT the additional features that this little buddy has make a HUGE difference when I compare it to other devices that I've tried in the past! One of my biggest gripes, previously, is that our downstairs is substantial in size, about 1,000 square feet, and thanks to the aforementioned children and dog, a decent amount of hair, crumbs, etc can be seen at any time. When I previously tried a device, I would have to manually empty the thing no less than twice, every time that it would run and that really defeated the purpose of "letting it work for me". The fact that this buddy empties itself is a game-changer! I can actually set it an forget it and go about my other tasks! The mopping feature is HUGE for our family too because we have wood-like flooring that's great looking and low maintenance but as spills and life happen, it gets a bit dull in places and one of the last things that I want to do at the end of the day or on my precious weekend's is pull out a mop and bucket. The mopping function on this vacuum is plenty enough for us as it'll help clean up any missed small messes and it adds back some shine to make every look and feel cleaner and brighter!
