We’ve been using BlackHawk Working dog for a few months now and it’s honestly fantastic! I have a 2 year old Husky with and I’ve struggled to keep weight on her for her whole life! We’ve had all sorts of testing done to see why she won’t eat with no avail! I set out in search of a dog food that was high in calories so she didn’t have to eat much to keep weight on. It was hard to find a good food because I didn’t want to compromise quality for calories! Luckily I cane across BlackHawk and we’ve never gone back! Amazing quality and a high calorie count was so perfect for us! Do keep in mind that a hush calorie food doesn’t suit every dog! You don’t want your dog to put on too much weight!

Purchased 20 kg bag in April 2022 based on advertising, reviews and being very satisfied with a similar product from meals for mutts. Despite trying to introduce to our 19 month old male Kelpie over a period of 4 months, I've found the product isn't right for him and have to give up. Although he's eaten all the biscuits offered, the results have been softer, runnier and smellier stools, resolved by switch back to previous product. My mistake. I should have bought a smaller bag first up.

My dogs prefer this kibble to the other Black Hawk varieties, and it's the best quality of the BH range. Even my 18.5 year old does well on this.

Black hawk has good ingredients lists, it seems to have all the proteins and nutrients I look for in a dog food, without excessive grain fillers. It also has the oils and vitamins a dog needs. I like the fat and protein percentages of the working dog food, great for my greyhound. My greyhound adores the taste too, it’s the only time I’ve seen her try to open a dog food bag. The only reason it’s not 5 star for me is the pellets are very small. I know that it’s probably because they make this for ALL working dogs including those smaller breeds. But I think bigger pellets are important for the dogs dental health. The breaking down of pellets is vital to teeth and gum health. Have been using this food for few years now since my malinois got off the black hawk puppy, he loves and never had a issue. First time ordering on pet circle was very impressed with the shipping came the following day
I got this for my Doxie as he was about 1.5 years and would not put on weight. He is wormed and was in good health according to his checks but despite feeding twice daily he still had his ribs sticking out. After speaking with some specialists they recommended a working dog breed feed to help with higher fat and protein content. This has worked wonders!! Truly he seems so much healthier whilst maintaining that sleek waistline and he has enough energy to play with the dalmatian all day. Not only this, I have tried all types of dog food and he loves this despite being very fussy. 10/10 totally worth paying the price
The product is really good but now costs nearly double to a couple of years ago. So I have to buy a cheaper brand and mix them together as pricing is out of lower to middle income range. Soon won’t be able to afford Blackhawk at all.
For the Border Collie/kelpies that are difficult to maintain the condition on, when working hard, this is the best product.It keeps them healthy as well as providing them with plenty of energy.
Really happy with this product, after looking at a lot of dry food this product has high fat and protein that I could not find in other brands. Because my Malinois requires high fat and high protein to maintain acceptable body condition this was the only product I could find that works.
Actually, this product is not the right choice for my dog. She is not a working dog, but i wanted to try it due to the lack of grains / carbs. she has been very happy with other food from Black Hawk. Even though she is part labrador, she didn't relish it at all; she is happier now that she gets a smaller serving. But we will return to previous varieties in next order
