When I went to install the air filter the hole in the plastic shield did not line up with the intake hole and there was not enough adjustment on the shield securing screws, so had to cut hole bigger in cover so I could attach air filter.2. No individual isolation/stopcocks on the two air outlets. Maybe I was spoilt with my old unit having these but it would make for easier tool swap outs.

Minimal assembly required, black plastic top cover needed to be loosened right off and the entry point for the air filter had to be trimmed as it impinged on the side of the filter housing. Also the fitting of the wheels is a bit dodgy. However, at this early stage, the machine works well and does what it says on the box.

Had my blackridge for 6 years. Elbow from top of compression shattered on touching after leak. Smart marketing group had 48 on order of this part alone and can't fulfil half. A very inconvenient purpose. Buying another brand.

Only had it for a few weeks, seems to do all that I need it for. Sturdy construction, easy to assemble and use. I'm using it mainly to spray powder for small electrostatic powder coating jobs. More than enough air! Yes I recommend this 2.5HP unit.
bought 2 weeks ago and assembled as per manual and set in place. unable to pull Power switch without long nose pliers. Not knowing stores inventory levels of this product combined with the inconvenience of having to disassemble and repack and drive to a store with one in their inventory ( my local store doesn't ) I have decided to accept what I have and cope with this problem --- it works OK for my uses - previous compressor also from Supercheap 20 + years ago - I hope this one performs as well -I would recommend this ONLY AFTER the switch on the unit to be purchased was tested using finger pressure onlyThe power switch problem impacts on ALL the ratings below
Great little compressor. If you want to use it for sandblasting etc where you need the maximum airflow, consider something with a bigger tank as the compressor struggle to keep up with the flow, which means you stop and wait for it to build up more pressure. Dual outlets are nice to have so you can have two tools ready at the same time.
I recently moved back to Werribee, from Northeast Victoria. All my tools and equipment were hastily packed firstly into storage,and then to my new residence. When I unpacked my gear my compressor was damaged beyond repair. A phone call to the staff at Hoppers is all it took to get the right replacement.
I had a BRC120 that lasted well for 10 years and felt it was time for an upgrade, so I bought this BR2000. It's missing a bolt for a wheel and a bolt for the stopper, so it only has 1 wheel that can be fitted and 1 stopper that can be fitted. What's the point of spending hundreds of dollars on a product when you have to go and buy extra bolts to complete the assembly yourself? Also helps that there are NO individual part numbers. I'm also still waiting for Blackridge to contact my local SCA to let me know they have the bolts to send out! 🤦
I bought my unit several years ago and think it is a great unitHOWEVERwhen the piston connecting rod broke I contacted Blackridge (Smart Marketing Group) to see about spares.You have to buy the whole motor and compression system for $170 plus delivery (essentially everything bar the air tank) for a $15 partLast thing I will buy with anything branded Blackridge or any other SMG items (which is Stanley Tools).
This isn’t too bad for the price particularly when on sale, but I did have to return mine as air was leaking through the welds on the tank which are the poorest welds I’ve ever seen. SCA Dubbo were great to deal with, and handed over a replacement unit with minimal fuss. Just setup the new one and while there are no leaks, the motor sounds very “clangy” making some horrible noises unlike the first one. It will have to do for now. Next time I’ll pay the extra for something more reputable as I don’t feel confident this will last too long. If you have a small budget and happy to mess around with warranty claims through a third party (as it says on the box) I guess it would be ok.
