Received a Blackvue camera for Christmas two years ago, in May I was involved in a crash with a 4 time repeat DUI driver. May Blackvue camera captured the entire event.Sent video to both my insurance and the drunks insurance. My vehicle was totaled and my claim settled in less than two weeks. So I bought 5 of this new version, very happy and Will Never again be without my Witness. The 770x fits in the same mounts as the 750 which is a bonus.Happy with the customer service as well.

I've run this cam in my new car for about 3 days now and I'll keep it simple and state that:The Pros:1. The camera's 60 fps capture rate really does help with capturing more detail than the standard 30 FPS of lesser cams.2. The low light performance of the Sony Starvis sensor is apparent and is noticeably better than the Sony Exmor sensor of previous generations.3. The GPS is precise and boot up time of the cam is very reasonable (less than 15 seconds to start recording).4. The memory management/auto format is great. I don't have to worry about having to periodically format my card anymore b/c it does it on it's own (assuming you have constant power to the cam - ie using Power pro magic.5. The dash cam app makes you switch back and forth between the dash cam's wifi and your home wifi. This is 2017... allow the dash cam to operate as it's own wifi hot spot and also have the ability to connect to your home wifi so that you don't have to flip back and forth between your home wifi and the cam's wifi to perform firmware upgrades and footage downloads!.2. The cam should have included the port for the 2nd camera so that it gives consumers the option to buy a 2nd cam at a later date to attach to their dash cam. I guess that is why they have the 2CH version but the upfront cost was what held me back from buying the 2CH version.3. The dash cam should include a hardwiring kit. Although power pro magic allows you to hardwire things in that you still have that clunky cigarette lighter adapter. I'd rather just wire the cam into the fuse block and NOT have to cut my factory cord so that I can switch cams from my summer to winter cars with ease.

I just had my new DR650S-1CH installed yesterday and am thrilled with its performance. Thanks to Alex I have had an opportunity to test the latest dash cams however I keep going back to BlackVue. All the dash cams have certain features on top of driving mode and parking mode which are nice to have items. What I like about all the BlackVue dash cams is the dash cam's ability in parking mode. Living in a building where my car is always kept underground parking mode is very important to me. BlackVue' s parking mode is the best and here is why. The DR650S-1CH that I'm using now picks up the slightest vibration triggering recording before the car or person comes into view. Some other dash cams didn't record a person getting into their car but did record the car driving away. BlackVue never misses any car or person movement. I also found the color of the recordings more realistic than other dash cams under fluorescent lighting. Something important if an unauthorized vehicle entered the parking garage and did some damage to another vehicle. Some dash cams don't show the true color of vehicles its recording. Finally the BlackVue dahs cams when recording activity in Parking mode continue to record until the activity stops. You cam expect to see the activity recorded from the time the person or vehicle is picked up by the BlackVue until the person or vehicle is gone or parked. I feel BlackVue is the best dash cam on the market for the Parking feature and has one of the best viewers as well. Thanks, Brian

I recently purchased the BlackVue DR650S-2CH WIFI Cloud and I was extremely happy with how slim the overall profile was. In regards to the design, I give it 5 stars as it tucks quite neatly behind my mirror without much obstruction. I opted to hardwire the dashcam and also purchased a Cellink B and I can say it's the perfect set up for someone wanting to add security without compromising the look of your vehicle (or car battery life). That being said there were a couple of things that I wished the DR650S had.1) A 1080P rear camera. I knew the Thinkware F770 but I just preferred the BlackVue front camera styling over the bulkier F770.2) The wifi link is relatively slow when trying to watch videos or download them. I knew the Thinkware F770 but I just preferred the BlackVue front camera styling over the bulkier F770.2) The wifi link is relatively slow when trying to watch videos or download them. Also Over the Cloud is quite useless for me as I don't have a dedicated wifi hot spot for my dash cam.3) A bit more troubleshooting than I had expected after switching out the provided SD card for a Lexar 633x 128 gig card, I ran into a number of issues even after formatting the card where the camera would randomly restart every few minutes.4) The guys at Blackboxmycar did warn me about the software not being as good in parking mode where it doesnt automatically partition "events" into a separate folder which I originally didn't think would make much of a difference. But when you have to scroll through multiple videos and each of them load relatively slowly it can get a bit annoying.Don't get me wrong though, despite these cons, overall I am extremely satisfied with the BlackVue DR650S-2CH WIFI Cloud. It's not perfect but I really did feel like the pros far outweighed the cons. While I did strongly consider the F770 after the shops recommendation, I couldn't get over the form factor of the front camera and went with the Blackvue.
After a couple of weeks of use on my first ever dash cam I am quite happy with the video capture resolution and the design and build quality. This unit has more features than I need but the front & rear dual setup with 60/30 fps was paramount. I use a basic install without the parking mode power option enabled and can easily and inexpensively upgrade. The install was very straightforward and the pry tool was easy and effective.I download to my iPad as my phone is older vintage but this works very well and is surprisingly faster than I expected. I have yet to try direct card reading or laptop viewing and I understand the full resolution would be available in that mode.I don't use the cloud function and will never use it due to cautionary privacy concerns in ... I have yet to try direct card reading or laptop viewing and I understand the full resolution would be available in that mode.I don't use the cloud function and will never use it due to cautionary privacy concerns in general. I use this camera system now because I've experienced far too many dangerous driving events around me consistently for too long. If the municipal government will not fund police to adequately patrol then I want self preservation as well as the ability to assist in the form of reporting risky and dangerous drivers. In one single commute yesterday I captured and reported 3 alarming incidents, illegal turn, red light runner & wrong way on a one way street in downtown Ottawa. Two were reported to the police, the wrong way event was a tad too far to get the plate number.I'm hoping for traction in increased police patrols by adding confirmed, recorded infractions to the database.
First one came DOA, so had to RMA and exchange it.Take note that any pre-existing wiring will need to be redone because they've changed the barrel plug for a TRS barrel plug (3 wire, red, yellow, & black).I had a DR650GW-2CH and had it wired up to my OBDII port. That harness has a barrel plug with only 2 wires (red & black). So if you've hard wired it to your car you'll need to redo it with the new wiring kit they supply, or splice the new plug with your old wiring. In my case, I spliced the red and yellow wires of the new plug to the red of my existing wire harness, and the black of the new plug with the black of the harness. This behaves the same as being plugged into the 12v accessory plug 24x7.The bracket that mounts the front camera to the windshield is ... This behaves the same as being plugged into the 12v accessory plug 24x7.The bracket that mounts the front camera to the windshield is also slightly different. The new camera doesn't sit properly in the old mount, but the old camera sits fine in the new mount, which is strange also. I haven't replaced the mount yet cause I don't have anything that can peel off the old mount's double sided tape. So I'll live with a non-fitting mount for now till I get something.Minus 1 star for those stupid issues. The rear camera cable is the same, so I didn't have to re-run that cable which is nice.Besides the issues stated above, camera works good so far.
Works great! I think my only issues are user error. I’ll list my observations below but overall I really like this dashcam so don’t get me wrong there. Not a top of the line product but really good nonetheless, like an entry-level Porsche… Not the 911 but still better than most other cars out there.Installation was relatively easy, after redoing one part so the cable wasn’t wrapped in front of my curtain airbags.I got lazy and bought some fuse taps so I could crimp the bare leads into them because I’m not a pro installer. That made it really easy. It was neat that the actual BlackVue install video used my exact car (WRX).I like that it goes into parking mode automatically once the car power is off. Every time I come back in my car though I hear “an impact was detected while in parking mode” then when I review the video it’s just me walking up to and entering the car. I haven’t gotten around to adjusting the sensitivity, which is a handy option to have since I apparently slam my doors. Now I feel shame. Thanks dashcam.I tested out the video and it had a really seamless transition to direct sun to a dark tunnel then back to sun and I could see details they whole way.Another trick of the app is showing a lot of alerts for “high acceleration events”. Thanks dashcam, but those are called “fun”. Neat scrolling GPS map on the side when you’re using the desktop viewer. The WiFi does randomly turn on by itself. Not sure if that’s a feature because my phone then connects to it and a minute later gives me a pop-up that the network has no internet connection. Duh. Now stop it. I just push the WiFi button on the side of the cam and it’s good. For a time. I’ll see if there’s a fix. I did already update the firmware. Minor quirk. Still a great dashcam.
Need to pay for subscription to get maximum access to the camera playback and live view. If you have wifi at home you can link up with your phone to the camera only at your home wifi area. The moment you leave then doesn’t work so pretty useless feature if you want to use gps cos it will stop working. Other than that it’s a good design camera hardly noticeable . Playback of Timelapse is really great and excellent recording of driving.
I've only had the dash cam for a week and it's too early to review the product. It's fine. If it doesn't record a collision in park mode or starts draining the battery despite advertising battery protection it won't be fine. But so far it hasn't. Too early to tell. The review is of the purchase process since I received this email prompting me to post a review. This was one of 8 (EIGHT!) emails that I consider to be complete and utter spam that I received during my purchase of 1 product. I don't appreciate the spam. Other businesses manage to conduct day to day without spamming.Otherwise price was competitive with, say amazon, and product arrived new with unbroken packaging seal.3 stars for you.
I've purchased from here before so nothing new to add really. I've always been pleased with the service. Live chat is great and any questions were always answered promptly with clear answers. Shipping was immediate. As for the camera, in case anybody wants to know, I like Blackvue cams and have had them for years. I use a dual cam on the motorcycle. It's certainly not built for nor intended to be used in the outdoors but it's performed very well for about three years. Lately, I've noticed some of the segments haven't been recorded and are coming up as a white screen. Sometimes the rear camera fails to record. This isn't a complaint. I figured I'd just replace it and perhaps experiment with this one to see if I can figure out what's up with it. Yes, I know there's a ... Yes, I know there's a dual cam made for motorcycles and 4x4s but I wasn't convinced I wanted it after reading other reviews. Blackvues have amazing sound and video quality...which is exactly what you want to have when it matters most. Pic shows rear cam under tour pack. Front is behind the windscreen
