I have 4 different dash cams in my cars. I bought this 750S after using Street Guardian and needing a parking mode. While many manufacturers claim on how sharp or high-quality the image is, that actually doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is this: can you see the license plate or image of the driver if you're involved in a hit and run or car accident? Even if your dash cam is 4k but you can't make out the license plate of another car, what's the point? Also, footage from dash cams are not as admissible into court as you may think. The real issue with this camera is the app. I have a Samsung S7 using an 256gb external memory card. The app is slow on android. It cuts off or disconnects sometimes. On my Samsung S7 , the only way to properly connect to the app is to have the phone (which tricks your phone into thinking it's an internet connection) completely lose internet capability while connected to the dash cam via wifi. The loading times and viewing times are extremely slow over the connection.Retrieving footage or looking back at files isn't as easy as they make it seem on youtube and I would rate the app that goes with the camera as a 2 out of 10.Good camera hardware but terrible software, giving this camera a pass. One last thing, blackboxmycar is offering financial incentives to individuals who write a high review on their products. Reviews are actually the next form of advertising. Be careful of what you read and believe.

We have been installing dash cams from various manufacturers from the Orient for the last four years in our two VWs with varying degrees of satisfaction in terms of performance, ease of installation and adaptability with our Mac eco-system (iPhones, laptops, work stations, iPads, iPods). We have even attempted to live with the shortcomings of the GoPro Hero 3 Silver as a dash cam in favour of its image quality and software editing application; however, after working with the DR650-2ch WiFi, we will be looking no further! Image quality, even after dark, is equal to and in most cases, better than the high end competition for this type of video application (files are editable for image quality in other video apps). Image quality, even after dark, is equal to and in most cases, better than the high end competition for this type of video application (files are editable for image quality in other video apps). What sets this camera apart from the rest is the WiFi connectivity for live view on a smart phone or tablet and to quickly edit camera parameters in a 'Settings' menu via WiFi. Connection is quick and the range is adequate for a vehicle application. Android OS users have an advantage here in that their smart phones can store files in a folder of their choosing and are able to (model dependent) access the micro SD cards directly by inserting them into the micro SD port--Apple products do not support these features so that users will have to insert their SD cards (64GB micro SDXC not supported here, yet) into a iPad or MacBook carried onboard if remote viewing is required. We understand that Blackvue is attempting to resolve some of these remote viewing issues for the Mac market in North America. Apple issues aside, we would purchase this dual-camera setup again (for our hard top convertible, where mounting the second camera beside the primary camera behind the rear-view mirror is easily accomplished without obstructing the driver's view). These cameras have a small form factor which makes them ideal in terms of mounting locations. We especially like the voice-over feature over a menu system: you know exactly, without your eyes leaving the road, what the camera is doing! The shipping container is well though out and the product comes with a satisfying array of protective sleeves, mounting pads and 'what-nots' that say: "This camera is high-end and offered with pride".The Canadian distributor, as opposed to other makers' customer support systems, is absolutely first rate. Their team is eager to resolve any issue from ordering, shipping, returns and especially technical support. This type of customer support is paramount when it comes to new technology where product maturity and development often times do not proceed in tandem. We feel fortunate to be Canadian users and have this kind of homeland support for a leading-edge product.

Everything arrived - as anticipated - so excellent service from your company.I have barely had time to install the unit in my car as I only received it Thursday evening. I was going to use the simple method of installation - namely powering the B-124 off the cigarette lighter. However, when I read the directions and it specifically said do NOT use a cigarette lighter 'splitter' I knew I had to do a 'hard wire' installation. This is the first time I have ever undertaken such a project - tho' I am 74 years old, I am at least a 'car guy' - so I figured it out (over time, and a trip to the auto parts store to pick up a circuit tester - as I was unsuccessful in 'guessing' which fuse holder to tap into. What I didn't realize is that the factory did not make that outlet 'live' - even tho' there was no fuse in that location. Anyhow, I got it figured out.I am having a devil of a time trying to figure out how to 'communicate' between the camera and my I-phone. We leave Tuesday to head to a HPDE event at the Mid-Ohio race track - and I live in Florida. I HOPE to figure out the notification system - so I can be alerted if someone 'messes' with my car while I am in a motel - or restaurant during the trip. I carry a LOT of valuable tools and equipment in the car so I hope I will be able to have peace of mind. I have a lot of things to do in the interim - so I do not know how much longer I can spend on the project.I also cannot figure out how to 'communicate' between the camera and the Internet - to update the firmware. I am pretty sure I have to accomplish that on my laptop and insert the MicroSD card into the laptop.

The exterior Rear Camera has no External Mounting Bracket mount spent the day running cables around the truck with no way to mount the camera. Like to see more options to connect to the fuse box I have open spots for Accessories and batteries I found fuses with a lead coming from. Installing the Blackvue Power Magic Ultra Battery Pack was a little bit of a challenge to wire in my 2018 Dodge Durango since most of not all Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep fuse boxes are located in the engine bay. After wiring and setting up my Blackvue DR750S-2CH I found it to work great, although I had some trouble connecting my dashcam to my in-car Hot-Spot (Uconnect/AT&T) to utilize the Cloud services. I could connect my phones and laptop just fine, but my dashcam would not. Finally, I set-up a Wifi Analyzer and learned that my in-car Hot-Spot is only 5Ghz compatible and my dashcam is only 2.4GHz. I've seen either 2.4GHz or both, but I've never seen a WiFi with ONLY 5GHz available. In a way, it makes sense because 5GHz has way more channels reducing interference with a smaller coverage than 2.4GHz since you're in a vehicle at close proximity.I contacted BlackBoxMyCar customer support and they said that the Blackvue 4K DR900S-2CH (2.4GHz/5GHz compatible) is interchangeable with existing wiring. Although, I offered to pay return shipping/restocking fee/perfect original packaging I could not exchange it for the DR900-2CH (twice the price) because I purchased a refurbished product.I only give this 4-Stars because I was unable to utilize the Cloud services to share my opinion -- besides that, the camera system itself works nicely and the customer service is helpful. Although, I wish they would make an exception to help me draw on Blackvue's dashcams full potential.

I had to use my wife's phone with Android 8 (Oreo) for the initial setup of the camera and have to borrow it if I ever want to make any settings changes. Hopefully, that phone does not auto-update to v9 any time soon.I did find a 3rd party app some guy on Reddit made (presumably out of the same frustration), which works fine on Android 9 for accessing video, but has no configuration functionality.Even though this is a great camera, if you have a newer Android phone you may want to look into other brands, or at least be aware of the issue so you don't waste hours trying to make an incompatible phone connect.

I almost needed to use the included additional stickem when I thought that I could install it upside down. Also, included SD card is adequate, but upgraded SD cards seem priced a little high. OTOH, they guarantee their SD cards to work. Generic cards may not work because of the speed requirements of streaming video.Overall, the camera system is top of line, though you feel the pinch of the outlay of cash. But when the camera is installed for safety of your wife, it is money well spent for a camera that you can depend on.
The cigarette hardwire kit and add-a-fuse are must have accessories if you want a clean install without using your car's existing 12V power outlet and having the annoying socket sticking out of your car's existing 12V power outlet. Now, everything is hidden, battery pack gets charge when my car is running while also supplying power to my front and rear cameras. When my car is off, front and rear cameras are still recording and using power from the battery pack. The BlackVue Power Magic Battery Pack is also a must have if you want to save your car's battery while providing peace of mind when you're parked. On a fully charge battery pack, it can provide approximately 8 hours of recording. That's impressive for a battery pack which only requires 1 hour to fully charge. I'm very happy with my purchase of my BlackVue DR650S 2CH with BlackVue Power Magic B-112 Battery Pack from Alex and Justin at www.blackboxmycar.comI will be looking forward to purchase my second set of dashcam from www.blackboxmycar.com for my other car in the near future. The aftersale support for setting up your dashcam and cloud service from www.blackboxmycar.com is unheard of in this industry. With other sellers, you have to call or email the manufacturer and wait for a respond. Good luck with that. Thank you Alex and Justin for carrying such great products to provide motorists with peace of mind while on the road or parked. It's not a matter of "If" something happens, but "When". Now, go get yourself and your car protected with Alex and Justin at www.blackboxmycar.comYou'll be glad you did.
Let me start with a brief background, while parked my car was hit so I purchased a $100 Wi-Fi dashcam with parking mode and a Cellink battery to be able to record while car is parked, this configuration worked except when starting the car it would take 10 to 15 minutes sometime longer for dashcam to come out of parking mode.Since I had purchased the Cellink battery from BlackBoxMyCar I contacted them for advice they recommended to purchase a better dashcam so I purchased Blackvue DR750S, following is my review comparison with the $100 dashcam (not sure if I can name the brand)Cons• DR750S daylight image quality is bad, the $100 dashcam has better daylight image quality.• DR750S no option to turn off GPS.• DR750S live video streaming to smart phone is choppy ... MoreLet me start with a brief background, while parked my car was hit so I purchased a $100 Wi-Fi dashcam with parking mode and a Cellink battery to be able to record while car is parked, this configuration worked except when starting the car it would take 10 to 15 minutes sometime longer for dashcam to come out of parking mode.Since I had purchased the Cellink battery from BlackBoxMyCar I contacted them for advice they recommended to purchase a better dashcam so I purchased Blackvue DR750S, following is my review comparison with the $100 dashcam (not sure if I can name the brand)Cons• DR750S daylight image quality is bad, the $100 dashcam has better daylight image quality.• DR750S no option to turn off GPS.• DR750S live video streaming to smart phone is choppy and constantly freezes, where as the $100 camera’s live video stream is smooth.• DR750S recorded video playback buffers every few seconds it is almost unwatchable have to download to local storage to watch.• DR750S Wi-Fi annoying it auto connects to phone, have to manually disconnect and reconnect, whereas the $100 dashcam only connect to Wi-Fi when the app is started and disconnected when exiting the app.• Power connection is outdated jack instead of micro USB like other cameras so after proper wire installation can’t move the camera to different car (example rental car) have to buy another power connector.• Rear camera connection uses coaxial cable instead of USB the jack is so small that can’t remove it without damaging.• Does not have left/right option, I wanted to use the camera as rear camera but image orientation was wrong.ProsDR750S parking mode works perfectColor coding of recorded images.Night image quality.Feature request.Replace power jack and camera connection with micro USBHotspot option within the camera.Overpriced, the camera doesn’t worth the $399 price, DR750S-1CH should be $150 and DR750S-2Ch $200.
For years I've been using the KDLINKS X1, a rather cheap, featureless dash cam. It recorded footage in 1080p, and lacked options like parking mode, GPS, etc. I never cared much. Recently, having seen feature-rich dash-cams like the Blackvue DR750S piqued my interest. It boasted of a fancy Sony sensor, 60FPS recording (coupled with convincing marketing material that seemed to portray clear and easy license plate definition). Ultimately, I saved up the cash and bought the 2-channel DR750S along with the B-112 battery. A pretty chunk of change spent, when you add the 128Gb microSD card.Unfortunately, my dreams of an upgrade to my X1 went south soon thereafter. Ultimately, I saved up the cash and bought the 2-channel DR750S along with the B-112 battery. A pretty chunk of change spent, when you add the 128Gb microSD card.Unfortunately, my dreams of an upgrade to my X1 went south soon thereafter. After spending three hours snaking the wires behind the trim, I finally booted my new DR750S, configured it, and took the car for a test drive. While the features (Wifi, rear camera, 60fps, etc.) seem inviting, the camera fails miserably at capturing any detail whatsoever. Its 1080p resolution is eclipsed by its extremely low bit rate. As I soon found out, it records at mere 13Mbps. Nevermind trying to resolve other license plates, the whole video looks like a heavily compressed JPG.To give you a better idea of the quality, I've compared the quality of my old X1 vs the top-of-the-line Blackvue DR750Shttps://i.imgur.com/6KAEHhx.jpgWhat I later found even more concerning is the deceptive marketing. In this image, the Blackvue is marketed as clearly resolving license plates thanks to its 60fps rate:https://i.imgur.com/1miSYlk.jpgAs you'll see, the actual resolving power is magnitudes off vs. what they market it as.Now don't get me wrong, if it was just the money I wouldn't mind so much. I'm sending this unit back in for a full refund, as it does not improve nor upgrade my old dash cam in any way. What I won't get back is the three hours I've spent installing it.For a top-rated and reviewed product such as this, I was in disbelief at the poor quality. However, if you browse the web for forums, and read Amazon reviews, you'll soon realize that Blackvue is good on marketing, and very poor on quality. I don't see how a dashcam that can't identify vehicles can be used for any legal reference or record. Just my 2 cents.
