Best Camera System I Could Ask For

I had a local shop hardwired them to my vehicle. The front camera was installed just below the driver’s side sun visor, rear camera was installed to the middle of the headliner. Both front and rear cameras are easy to use, they provides great play back and clear images. I also most recently picked up the LTE Module to accompany the dash cam, as well as the cloud services. The LET Module assists with the ease of operation and playback. I’m still learning how to use the app so the jury is still out on this aspect of the whole set up. Simple fix was just to apply a small piece of tape over the light while I'm out in the wild.I am very thankful I found The Dashcam Store and value their assistance. I purchased the DR970X Plus when my old BlackVue stopped working. This was an easy upgrade as the power cable, rear camera cable, and rear camera were all the same. I’ve chosen to stick with BlackVue because of their cloud integration, and I’m activating LTE in my dash cam for the first time to be able to get alerts wherever I am. I had a bit of concern once my dash cam was installed due to the GPS not working. Luke and Michael at BlackBoxMyCar walked me through various troubleshooting steps, and ultimately BlackVue updated their firmware that solved the issue. My next step is to purchase a BlackVue B-130X battery in the coming days so I can complete the package.

Bought a DR970X for my wife's car quite an improvement over my DR650GW with pairing and viewing videos directly from the camera. It seems to work well with the Blackvue mobile app compared to the DR650. I bought both from Blackbox and it was a seamless process. I would not buy from any other retailer, they know their products and it shows with them being in business for so long. As for Blackvue, solid product I have had my DR650 for at least 8 years in two different cars and it still works well.

Great dashcam setup but only works with T-Mobile SIM cards
27 June 2024

Overall the dashcam is a great setup. The app is easy to use. Sometimes doesn't connect to the cloud but just give it time. I subtracted one star because you can only use T-Mobile SIM cards. I had a Mint Mobile card that I wanted to use and come to find out it's not supported. The quality is good and I like the parking mode, as I've hardwired mine. I ended up adding Blackvue's accessory battery as well. Originally, I was using the car's battery and letting the Blackvue low voltage setting shut it off. But I didn't want to strain the battery in the long term so I added Blackvue's battery, which can be monitored in the app as well. I'd suggest getting the battery as it simplifies hardwire install. Great dashcam! Unsure of reliability with this brand however.

I had a 750S-2Ch with a B-124X battery pack before this and the cam died within 4 years. The rear cam gave out first 3 months ago, eventually the main unit died starting 2024. New SD card and new firmware couldn’t save it either. I have a 900S -2Ch in a different car with a B-124X as well and the rear cam is already showing artifacts with 2 years of use. Negative notes aside, I do love how sleek these dashcams look and the app isn’t too bad but there is definitely a learning curve on both Android and IOS. Can be a bit buggy too. Time will tell how the 970X-2CH holds up but hope I can get 5+ years of use, if not I will finally switch brands and hope for the best. 970X camera quality is awesome and noticeably better than the 750S. My B-124X is still going strong on both cars and no issues pairing it with the 970X. If you plan on upgrading from an older BlackVue cam, the power cable may need to swapped to the one provided with the 970X. The rear cam cable didn’t need to be changed either.

(Thanks Liza)If all customer services this good the world would be a better placeMy car has a 48 V battery that's been giving me problems and I was nervous about tapping into the fuse box. It's a 2021 Mercedes station wagon. I ran the wires up under the top of the windshield, over the a pillar and then under the door rubber to the B pillar and then above the back door rubber and down the side into my station wagon back. There is a cigarette lighter adapter there.I bought an eight cell battery from the same company and I plugged the cigarette lighter into the eight cell battery and then the eight cell battery into the cigarette lighter in the back of my car.It works great under parking mode but if I'm going to leave the car a long time I have to remember to turn off the battery so it doesn't go dead. I'm starting to wonder if it matters if it goes dead and I think I'm going to experiment with letting it go dad to see what happens. It would be much easier if the camera had an on-off switch but that's not for me to say.The new way of connecting your phone to the camera is really easy. It's easy to walk through you can follow the video that BPM C sends you. There's all sorts of ways to configure the camera. I had to play with a while but I figured it out and it really helped to watch all of the videos. The cloud is a whole different issue. Part of the reason I bought the BlackVue is because of the cloud feature that I still have available to get the cloud feature to work correctly. I admit that I'm using a wireless hotspot and the black view company sells their own wireless hotspot but I already have one.I think I finally figured out (with the help of Andrew and BlackVue) that if you turn off the car and turn off the battery and then turn on the wireless hotspot and then turn the car on and the battery on that it will connect to the cloud. However if you turn on the car and then turn on the wireless hotspot it doesn't seem to work or at least it hasn't for me.The cloud thing has been very frustrating for me.I bought the camera in case of an accident so I imagine if I have an accident I will pull the SD card out and have video to show the police or insurance company and even though I can't get the cloud to work I'm confident that the images will be there.A colleague of mine saw that I had this camera and said to me I wish I'd had this camera because somebody ran into me the other day and drove off and I have no idea who they are.

Peace of Mind
3 October 2023

Since I've started to commute again, I really wanted to have a Dash Cam installed. Their website was helpful to evaluate what kind of models/setup would make sense for our needs. I was super impressed with how streamlined the installation is in our vehicle too; the cables aren't visible whatsoever and each camera is mounted sturdily both front and rear. The BlackVue app has a lot of the same features and functionality as our smart home security (detection events are broadcast, recording logs, plus easy to use and understand).Within the first month we had a few close calls in traffic and I immediately felt reassured by our purchasing decision. Inevitably things happen, to us or other motorists, and I have more peace of mind knowing that whatever might happen out ... MoreSince I've started to commute again, I really wanted to have a Dash Cam installed. Pretty good, but...
20 July 2024

Overall the camera functions as expected, the original file (once downloaded which takes far too long) is very crisp and functions well in daylight. Night performance is ok, but not amazing. Form factor is pretty good, it's a pretty large device, not bad in a truck, but I suspect it looks huge in a smaller car. Compared to its previous versions the original video (downloaded video) is great, but the downside for this model is the preview video quality. It seems to be lower quality than then 1080p camera for sure. In fact the rear camera preview quality is better than the 4k front. That's disappointing. I'm using AT&T prepaid annual card in the US and it works very well. Really bad customer support experience
10 June 2024

My new 970x Plus 2 Channel was never able to get a GPS signal since day one. The first interaction was pretty good, gave suggestions on what to try: flash firmware on PC, and outside of the car under clear sky to make sure it gets the best chance. And told me to report back if it didn't work, so I can get a replacement unit. The second support agent (Luke) was a whole different story. He just kept telling me that I need to try cloud connections to get the GPS working, even though I mentioned that GPS isn't related to the cloud features. But I went with it just to get things moving. So I registered a free trial, connected the dashcam to the cloud, and of course it didn't fix the GPS issue. I purchased this to replace my previous 7-year-old BlackVue camera. The construction feels rugged and well built, and I was able to reuse most of my old hardwire set-up for this camera so installation was quick and easy. It actually took me far longer to loosen the adhesive enough to remove the old camera from the glass than the time it took me to install and set up the new one.Once running, I'm impressed by the image quality and clarity of this new model. Plates and details are fairly crisp even at night. It's probably a good idea to upgrade the SD card to a larger size though as the included SD card will only store about 3 days worth of combined driving and parking mode footage at the highest quality for me.Unlike my old camera where it was possible to adjust ... MoreI purchased this to replace my previous 7-year-old BlackVue camera. That's about the only gripe I have and personally it's not enough for me to take off a star, although I wish they would restore the ability for the user to adjust clip length in the future.
