In the winter of 1881, Albert Bacon Blanton was born into one of the first families of bourbon history. At the age of sixteen, he started work in the Distillery as an office boy and fast became a leading pioneer in the development of bourbon. From the time he was made company president in 1921 until his retirement in 1952, his Distillery expanded from 44 to 144 buildings to become the largest Distillery of its day. During that period Colonel Blanton created his very special and limited supply of bourbon - his private reserve - handpicked and stored in what now is known as the famous Warehouse H. Although Colonel Blanton died in the spring of 1959, his legacy lives. Introduced in 1984, Blanton’s namesake bourbon was the first ever Single Barrel Bourbon sold commercially. The Single Barrel Bourbon is the first of its kind. TASTING NOTES A deep, satisfying nose of nutmeg and spices. Powerful dry vanilla notes in harmony with hints of honey amid strong caramel and corn. A medium finish composed of returning corn and nutmeg flavors.

It's fine. Nothing more. Nothing less. People lose their minds over this stuff and will pay way too much for it. If you are willing to pay over $60 for this bottle I feel bad for you. I have seen grown men throw a temper tantrum at a liquor store because they could not get their precious horsey bottle. This is why this is referred to as "tater juice". Now back to the whiskey... It is a high rye bourbon using Buffalo Trace's mashbill #2 (approx 12-15% rye). The slightly extra rye gives it a little extra spice compared to their products using mashbill #1 like Eagle Rare, EH Taylor, Stagg Jr and Buffalo Trace. I personally don't drink it but I try to keep a bottle around for any guests who are not bourbon drinkers. Most people recognize the bottle and/or name so they ... MoreIt's fine. Nothing more. In short, this is approachable and recognizable. It's a perfectly fine pour but I would never spend above MSRP on a bottle. There are too many great bottles of bourbon sitting on the shelf to overpay for Blanton's.

Blanton's is bottled at 93 proof and has a complex flavor profile. The nose is dominated by notes of vanilla, caramel, and oak. The palate is smooth and creamy, with flavors of honey, butterscotch, and fruit. The finish is long and lingering, with notes of spice and oak. Here is a more detailed review of Blanton's Bourbon: Aroma: The nose of Blanton's is dominated by notes of vanilla, caramel, and oak. There are also hints of honey, butterscotch, and fruit. The nose is very inviting! Flavor: The palate of Blanton's is smooth and creamy. The vanilla, caramel, and oak are the most prominent flavors, followed by hints of honey, butterscotch, and fruit. It doesn't get much better than this, and IF you use ice, only use one small cube. Otherwise, it's best enjoyed neat. I can't wait to get my hands on a bottle myself. I tried this for the first time at a friend's house who was given it as a gift for his birthday. It was incredibly smooth and rich. At first, I couldn't believe it was a bourbon. Ignore the unfavorable comments! Those were undoubtedly written by uneducated, palate-underdeveloped 21-year-olds. I'm aware that fifteen years ago, I couldn't have appreciated Blanton's to its fullest. This whiskey cannot be compared to Jack Daniels! Jack is a decent whiskey for what it is: a less expensive mixer. Stick to your cheap whiskeys, Coke drinkers, and stop hating on the good stuff.

Wooden Cork is amazing. I decided to purchase this as a gift for my husband. I previously ordered it from another website and that was a horrible mistake. On Christmas Eve I made my purchase with Wooden Cork. The website was very clear with availability and authenticity and the email communication was great. The packing of the bottle was out of this world. And we received it on January 10. I am so very impressed with my experience this will be the only place I ever order from online for my liquor needs. My husband was so very excited. He has yet to open the bottle as he’s waiting for a special occasion. I feel the fact that he got the bottle in the first place is the special occasion.
I recently order a bottle of Blanton’s Bourbon from Quality Liquor Store and I’m excited to tell you about my experience.I ordered online but only after I visited the store because I was skeptical having never done business with these people. They didn’t have a bottle at the store because the stuff is next to impossible to find, especially in my beloved Virginia.Fortunately, I found myself in San Diego on business and I stopped by one of their stores. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They encouraged me to go to the website to order and that’s what I did.I received regular updates on the delivery every step of the way. My Wife’s birthday was coming up and this was one of her main presents. I called the number and spoke with the clerk who assured me that my order would arrive in time for her birthday. It actually arrived 2 full days early! That gave me time to properly wrap her present. They took such great care with the packaging, there was no possible way that this bottle was going to arrive damaged, and it was factory perfect.I could have thrown it off the tallest building on the Planet and nothing could have happened to it. Well done my new friends! Here’s a little anecdote to the story. I called the distillery in Kentucky to get a Blanton’s display and the cork stoppers that spell Blanton’s. The stopper with the N had a broken tail on the horse. Wanna guess which stopper was on the bottle I received from Quality Liquor?I kid you not, it was the N! My Wife is over the Moon and you folks made me look like her HERO! Thanks so much for the great customer service and support along the way. You have earned my respect and my future business! All the best,Bob Rice
This bourbon is still in my opinion one of the greatest. You should keep in mind that since there is only one barrel, there will always be variation among the bottles. I've never had a bottle, though, that I didn't like. But please remember that paying outrageous costs ($200 a bottle and up) above the markup I've observed at other nearby liquor stores are NOT worth it. If you ever come upon a bottle at MSRP, purchase it and take pleasure in it. But refrain from making any form of markup; it is not worthwhile.
So I am only about a year in to my bourbon journey. In my state we can't get out hands on this product without standing in lines to snag a bottle from the 1 case that gets delivered to maybe 6 stores in the area. Everyone said this was an overpriced product thus over rated. I've tried it at a few bars and was very happy. So much so I decided to get myself a bottle from Caskers. I do feel this is a great product but the price will limit me as to how often I will purchase it. It will be for special occasions only: the birth of my next child, a pour on my 10yr anniversary, a pour on new years, etc. The price needs to be more affordable.
Blantons is good but not that good. Local liquor stores are keeping cases of this hidden, putting one bottle on the shelf at a time for $200.00 and acting like it's impossible to get. Sites like this have inflated the price to a ****** markup. I get supply and demand but if places are stock piling it so they can sell it for well over three times the original price then shame on the customers whom pay the price. Stop paying these ****** over inflated prices and you will see Blanton's on the shelf's again. It's a game people and the end consumer will never win. "Blantons, the Bennie babies of liquor"
Ok, I am sure most people who are reading this review are like me wondering if this is legit. Short answer: yes it is. And I am sure most people who come here to read a review already know what Blanton's is, and that Blanton's is a good bourbon and it is hard to find. However, it took awhile for the order to process and ship out, but once it shipped, it was at my house the next day. When I say awhile, I mean about a week and a half. I do not know who is in control of that, so do not expect anything to be delivered fast. Also, the price was HEFTY! But, if you are willing to pay for it, that is your business.Overall, I am happy with my purchase. I took two stars off for the inflated price and for the delivery time. I’ve been wanting to try a bottle of Blanton’s for a long time. Living in a rural area bottles like this are hard to find.I was a little skeptical at first ordering this online as if was too good to be true. I was not disappointed. The bottle shipped quickly and arrived before the estimated arrival date. They took great care in wrapping the bottle to prevent damage during shipment. Keep this in mind when opening and unwrapping the bottle. Foam and plastic wrapping sticks to corks and can damage or break the seal. No one’s fault but my own. This review is more about the seller than the product. I’ve seen several reviews talking about this seller being fraudulent. I want you to know this isn’t the case.Very pleased with my experience.
