Sounds excellent.Frustrations:- The metal sleeve provided is slightly too big for the 944 radio opening. I suggest re-using the existing radio sleeve.- The radio is much shorter than old ones, so it must be securely fitted.- The interface of the LED screen takes some getting used to. Patience required to master of all its features.

Good to see the Bremen back on the market, with so many modern touches. I wanted a Blaupunkt radio that would not look out of place in my 1987 Saab while providing up-to-date connectivity and this fitted the bill exactly ! Modern connectors lurking behind what looks like a cassette player, retro digital display which shows album and track data, great sound quality, what more could you want ? Only a slightly more reasonable price tag - just under 400 is surely OTT even for this superb unit ?

Although its a Blaupunkt its made in China and has a cheaper feel to it than the originals. The tuners are adequate, but it sounds a lot better when using it with SD or USB inputs which are very nice. The supplied DAB simple aerial works great in my drive but when i go out in the car it cuts out all the time. I would still recommend it for an old Classic Car.

Excellent product. Looks and sounds fabulous with great build quality. Replaced similar period Blaupunkt and transforms usability of classic car. Downsides are period navigation through controls (not as intuitive as modern systems) and DAB aerial is poor (looks awful and doesn't work well, would upgrade). Absolutely worth the premium over modern looking systems.
Looks retro, slightly over priced, still bought one though! Got it fitted by an auto electrician, therefore I have no idea how practical fitting is. Supplied DAB aerial is not very good, not sure if it needs upgraded. Volume knob has just broken. ( just contacted Blaupunkt Service partner to get sorted......hopefully) The button controls have slow reaction times, and fiddly to use......i did expect this as the screen size is limited. Didn't realise it would connect with my phone to take calls, unexpected bonus....i suppose it should as its a modern radio after all!
Really pleased with this as it has all of the modern features you could possibly want. The fact that the chassis is shorter than normal is a plus as this was always marginal in my car with older type stereos and the spaghetti wiring that accompanied them. I have 2 x amps connected as well so very pleased with the sound quality. Only gripe is that I had to change the 12v permanent and 12v ignition around on my cars wiring to suit the Blaupunkt which was a bit of a faff if you want to keep the original car wiring intact. Looks totally correct in my VW Golf Mk2 but would be equally at home in a variety of other motors.
I love my Blaupunkt head unit! It makes my 1991 Mercedes 300D feel complete. A lot of people have complained that the head unit resets the source back to FM every time it power cycles. That hasn't been my experience. I set it to Bluetooth and it remains on that source. Blaupunkt has released a handful of updates for this car which can be found on their site which I think resolved this issue. My only complaint is how expensive this things is, but beyond that, this thing is awesome!
The cassette mechanism got little problem, that is "wow and flutter" too bad. I guess this is because of this unit is too old, the rubber and plastic and electric motor in the mechanism unit worn out already. I will try to repair the cassette mechanism, hope the repair will solve the problem.
Expensive but the only option when it comes down to a high quality period correct stereo for modern classics like the BMW E30. Some will point out that Continental also makes a similar unit that costs 1/3 of the Bremen. True but it lacks in power and the orange backlit screen may not be to everyones taste.
This radio is definitely worth the price (around $550) with all of its features. It matches the interior of almost all 80s cars, especially German ones. It really ties the interior together and makes it look complete while also allowing for very good upgrades to the system down the line. If you have a German vehicle from the 1980s and are tired of all the glossy black plastic headunits from all the other companies and want more than what the stock headunit offers, then this is the one for you.
