Dont listen to the haters, is a powerhouse of a blender, it uses the same commercial grade motor. The difference is commercial has a four sided jar and an outer dome to isolate the noise.I have had mine for six years. Just watch Youtube, tons of videos showing it shredding baseballs, golf balls, cell phones. And I bought it back then when $500 was cheap, that it can be bought in today's "inflation" for less is a steal. Besides, they offer 7 yr warranty!!!

The Mini Wildside Jar is the perfect size & quality container for single servings of green smoothies & even frozen margaritas. I was debating between this and the GO cup & thrilled I went with this one. Blends perfectly and I even just drink it out of the container after - the size & shape makes it easy to do. I do baby my Blendtec containers - Just hand wash and air dry. I don't put it in the dishwasher or use harsh chemical cleaners on the container. Also I slightly soften my frozen fruit before blending and careful to load the food in the correct order. I never use my full size jar anymore - Highly recommend the Mini!

Ok so I've owned this same Blendtec for over 10 years. My first two jars lasted roughly 5 years each. The first one busted out the bottom and made a huge mess in the kitchen, but ok, it's been well used for five years, let's get another one. That one also lasted roughly five years and I honestly can't remember why I decided to replace that one. Cracks, maybe? Starting to look worse for wear? So onto my third jar, after a year it developed a crack in the bottom. No problem, it's under warranty so I'll just ask for a replacement. Now my fourth jar (also a year later) has developed a crack in the bottom. I've contacted Blendtec about it again, but what a hassle. I'm seriously concerned about the quality of the jars right now. I've followed all care instructions for the jar since that first blowout. The machine itself is still going strong and for 10+ years of work, that's the "love it" part. With an increase in the frequency of jar issues, though, that's the "hate it" part.

After 5100 uses our 10 year old jar bearings went and we needed a replacement. I decided to buy this wildside jar and am super happy with it. We make smoothies almost every day and the added side does make a big difference, blends faster and smoother, our smoothies typically consist of frozen bananas milk and add ins. Amazing how quickly this blends a solid frozen banana. The old jar did the job, but this new one gets it done alot faster. The lid design is much improved from the old one as well, I like that is had some holding power. And I'm not sure why there are reviews saying the lids aren't rubber, mine is made of the same rubber material as my old lid. Thank you blendtec! Yall make fantastic products and this new wild side jar is just icing on the cake.
So far, it’s great. I was frustrated with the old jars that eventually would all start to leak out the bottom. This jar appears to be a different design so I’ve got my fingers crossed. With each jar costing almost $200 by the time it is shipped to Canada, I would hope for more longevity. The base occasionally gives off a burning smell but it’s held up for quite a few years.
I bought this and used it a few times with no problems - loved it. Then Covid hit and I had to take care of aging parents out of state for a long time. Upon return the first use failed after 3 years of idleness in the cupboard. This speaks to perishable materials used in manufacturing and it's out of warranty even though it's only been used 102 times. The agitator shaft is loose and it leaks. There's also a burn rubber smell. I hope Costco will take it back since I can't have warranty replacement. $200+ is way too much to pay for a kitchen appliance that doesn't last a lifetime.
After many years of making morning smoothies with the original jar that came with my Blender I got a new Wildside Jar. Very impressive upgrade for my morning smoothie ritual! Top quality, beefed up blade, solid gasket at the bottom. The 5th sidewall really cranks up the blending efficiency! Nice improvement, easy to rinse off and definitely worth the money.
The bearings are protected by a rubber gasket that wears, cracks, and leaks over time. Some people have even reported a burning smell, which we have experienced as well. But liquids from the jar get down into the bearings in a short period of time (our blender has just over 400 uses) and the bearings begin to rust. We first started seeing a ring of brown rust on the lower portion of the jar. Then the blades started to wiggle when moved by hand. Now, it's incredibly noisy, leaks liquids. The Jar sells for $140, which it most definitely is not worth. Another revenue stream for Blendtec. I'd recommend them if they'd just use quality bearings. I have an old blender from the 1970s that still works great.
I purchased the WildSide Jar because of the promise of more efficient blending. To me, that means less cavitation so that you don't have to stop and start so many times. I think I actually have to stop MORE often with this jar to stir and get the mix pushed back down to the blade. I regret that I didn't just replace my 20 year old Vitamix. Blendtec needs to come up with a tamper tool that safely pushes the food down to the blade WHILE it is running like Vitamix and Thermomix have. It is beyond frustrating that I have to stop it so often. So 90 seconds of blending takes me a minimum of 3 minutes to complete. But 90 seconds of blending in a Vitamix takes 90 seconds. The only improvement this jar has over the original is that you can have a bigger volume.
My Wildside+ Jar couldn’t handle frozen fruit tonight. I wish I would have gotten a picture of the mess it made. All over the walls, floor, and everything in my pantry where we use the blender. Pretty upset considering how expensive this blender was. Rendered useless unless I purchase another Wildside+ Jar for $140.
