I have a silk robe from a silk factory in China that I visited (where I literally watched those cute little critters spin silk), and I can lather myself in lotions and oils and put that on immediately and it won't stain. The other thing is I can also steam that robe in a matter of seconds. I used an entire water tank of my Conair steamer and still couldn't get the wrinkles out of this pillowcase. This photo is after one wash and steam. It's stained and crunchy and I'm kicking myself for buying a whole bed's worth. Super disappointing. That being said, if you sleep on your back or don't use skincare products, this would be a nice pillowcase for you.

I finally gave in and purchased a couple of these pillowcases. I'll be honest, I'm one of those people who usually buys silk pillowcases off Amazon for $10 each.These are definitely thicker. They do feel as if they will hold up better. When I wash silk pillowcases I wash on the hand-wash cycle, each pillowcases is in its own net bag, on cold and I hang to dry. These pillowcases dry extremely wrinkled. I assume it's from the thicker material.I am on the fence as to if these are worth the price. Will they last longer, yes. Will they last 5 to 7 times longer than a $10 alternative? I can't say. I’ve purchased some from other companies, but they’ve been much more expensive with fewer color options with the same level of quality. I like these so much that I even pack them when I travel because I sleep so much better with them. They’re also very strong. A friend of mine recommended silk pillowcases to me because I wasn’t happy with the way my hair looked in the morning when I was using regular pillowcases.
