Absolutely useless boom arm. After returning one and testing a second one before I left the store, I came to the realization that as other reviews have stated, these things are just defective. The tension was so tight on it that it would not stay in place whatsoever. I'm incredibly disappointed in the extremely poor manufacturing of this, especially coming from a company like blue. I will unfortunately never purchase a blue product again after having wasted so much time trying to figure out what was wrong with this thing.

Pros: Amazing sound quality and great at avoiding background noise. Comes with a very useful headphone monitor port and a verry versatile selection on pickup patterns with a nice hardware gain control dial. It is also use able through XLR if you didnt want to use USB which is also great to have the option. It comes with a stereo XLR cable which is great for those that don't have cables for stereo since most don't use it.Cons: Its really big so most other mic holders won't be able to won't fit it and will most likely need a custom one for it. The stand that comes with the mic picks up every bit of vibration and noise from where it's placed so if you have it on your desk and you type it WI ill pick up the vibration which is audible even tho it might not pick up the ... MorePros: Amazing sound quality and great at avoiding background noise. I must say that this microphone is awesome. I am using a mid 2012 MacBook pro 15 and my main software is logic pro X. it took me a some minutes to get use to the gain level on this mic. I had to adjust the master input fader on my mac to the max (midi setup app) and only use the Gain on the mic. It is super sensitive and picks up the neighbor's dog barking 2 blocks away. the different polar patterns are awesome. I did not need any driver for the blue yeti pro using the mac. it is just plug and play. I will be using it for many recordings. It is an awesome microphone you will love it. I like the fact that the EQ is pretty flat and I have control over the way I want to sound. For voiceovers, I just add my own bass boost EQ and it sounded great. The only thing is that ... MoreI must say that this microphone is awesome. The only thing is that if your sound card cannot handle 192kHz, the computer will revert to the default frequency it can handle (on my MacBook Pro, not sure about PC).
Needed a USB microphone for my new Surface Pro 4 that doesn't have audio recording inputs so I could record my singing and playing ukulele. Fantastic microphone with literally no background hiss. So easy to use, with just 4 main recording settings and the little user's guide really explained their use well. You can even monitor your recording live via the microphone with headphones so no delay. It also has a gain to boost the recording signal which they recommend to keep at 50% for starters. The microphone and base is very heavy and won't tip over. You can also use it as a normal XLR mic too and even use it on a normal microphone stand. Also, you can attach a popkiller (screen to avoid aspirate P's and B's). My only complaint is that when it is plugged it and ... MoreNeeded a USB microphone for my new Surface Pro 4 that doesn't have audio recording inputs so I could record my singing and playing ukulele. I wish that could be turned off.
Might be good for podcasting, but I can't recommend it for acoustic guitar. The Spark literature talks about it being a professional mic ideal for vocals, drums, guitars, so I thought it would be worth a try. I wanted to get the convenience of a Lightning connection for iPad etc. I put it head to head with a old, medium-quality condenser XLR mic (AGK CE 1) running through an M-Audio Mobil Pre (USB to a Mac) and there was a world of difference much clearer highs and harmonics on the XLR mic. Maybe not a fair comparison since an XLR mic plus a pre-amp is going to cost more but be advised. I returned the Blue Spark, thank you, and got a Focusrite iTrack Solo to connect my old mic to an iPad and am very happy. On the other hand, it does seem like good engineering to get ... MoreMight be good for podcasting, but I can't recommend it for acoustic guitar. I returned the Blue Spark, thank you, and got a Focusrite iTrack Solo to connect my old mic to an iPad and am very happy. On the other hand, it does seem like good engineering to get a decent mike to plug directly into a Lightning connection and require nothing else. Given its convenience and potential for portability it seems odd that the mic is so heavy and is laden with that bulky shock mount. (Would be nice if it were threaded for a standard mic stand.)
i just bought this product to record podcasts from, but the software does not work out of the box. What is worse, the first software fix from one of the software providers does not fix the issue (a driver update), and the second software (Izotope Nectar) does not work with the Studio One from PreSonus either and also have to be modified to work. After several rounds of trying to fix software issues I simply gave up and did not want to spend more than the 6+ hours I had already taken me to try to get the setup to work out of the box. So I can recommend the mic but not the software. Don't by this bundle. Go with the mic and buy another software would be my recommendation
Excellent product. I especially appreciate that it's multi-pattern, with all the options you'd ever want - stereo, cardioid, figure-8 and omni, and the 2 output options - USB and XLR (x2). All that makes it a very useful mic, especially for the price. Everything works as it should. It's sturdy and robust, and so you can't complain that it's large and heavy. This is not a mic for amateurs. The only issues I have are all with the table stand. First, it seems to need tightening quite often. If it's on a table with the desktop computer, it picks up low frequency noise from the computer fan, and you either need to place it on a piece of foam or mount it on a boom. A bit more padding at the base could have prevented that. (Of course you could DIY). If you need to remove ... MoreExcellent product. A bit more padding at the base could have prevented that. (Of course you could DIY). If you need to remove the stand to mount the mic, you use the 2 thumbscrews at the sides. Each one has 2 washers and a spacer, which are completely loose and can fall off easily if you don't catch them. The first time I was unprepared and had to rescue one or two bits from under the table. Putting them back takes a bit of dexterity. It wouldn't have been hard to design a more secure arrangement.
This mic is gorgeous. It looks gorgeous. It sounds gorgeous. Everything.I love the select-able polar patterns. The XLR out is two channel with the appropriate 5 pin out to two channel 3 pin XLR cable included. It's a pigtail, about a foot long, so you'll need cables to get you there, but you've got those, right? It also has USB if you want to go straight into your computer. This is a magnificent microphone. Heavy. Full. Rich.B&H sells an Auray molded case specifically for this and that is worth getting if you take this out or if you store it for long periods. The headphones offered here are junk (I literally threw them in the garbage) and I'm not really using this mic where I need a wind screen, but I'm glad to have it.
