I was trying to find a microphone with great quality at a reasonable price. When I read reviews online I found out that Yeti is the way to go. The problem is there's no one selling Yeti here in Indonesia, which is where I currently reside. Even if they do sell one the price has been marked up by almost 200%! So I tried finding online stores overseas that sell the mic at its original price and could ship to Indonesia. Luckily, B&H delivers. I did not regret my purchase one bit. The whole ordering process was seamless and the shipping journey is updated real-time. The whole process from ordering, shipping from US and arriving in Indonesia only takes about 2 weeks, which is crazy fast! I usually use it for conference call for work as well as recording just for hobby. Though I should've gotten the kit as well, but overall still absolutely worth the purchase!

This is not a flimsy plastic microphone. It comes on a sturdy metal desk stand; alternately, you can remove it from the stand and screw it onto a professional mike stand. It has excellent voice quality. I followed through with a recommendation to get a "pop filter" (a nylon screen that hooks over the front of the mike on a metal cable) to reduce the explosive sound of "P's" and "B's" when talking close to the mike. The version I got screws onto the desk stand or can be attached on the shaft of a mike stand. Note that it has a "mute" switch on the front, and that it has an earphone jack so you can listen to the mike directly. I recommend you buy a USB to Mini-USB cable (note: NOT Micro-USB or Type C USB) from eBay, since these are not commonly available except in ... MoreThis is not a flimsy plastic microphone. You have several choices for the mike's pattern; I recommend the cardioid pattern, but you can try the stereo version for picking u p two different people talking.

No issues with audio quality for this microphone, but it broke after less than a year due to flimsy, poorly designed connector. It's kind of my own fault--I accidentally bumped it off a desk. However, the microphone and stand are very heavily weighted (perhaps to give the illusion of quality), and this microphone uses an extremely old USB connector type that is prone to stress failures. One little jerk of the cord was all it took to bend/snap the fragile connector pins in the body of the microphone. Game over. After doing some research online I discovered, too late, that damage to this port is so common that there are many forum threads about it, and even shops that replace this specific port on this specific microphone -- for nearly the cost of a new one, of ... On most forums, they'll just recommend that you purchase a better-designed microphone. Very disappointed that such an expensive microphone uses such old, flimsy technology. If you have already purchased this unit, recommend adding additional reinforcement to the port. If you haven't, save your money for something that's actually sturdy instead of something that just looks sturdy.

A solid, decent size mic that definitely gives you high end sound. Several microphone options for sensitivity and usages. Gain control. Instantly connects with the USB to programs such as Audacity. Do not regret my purchase and can't see me ever needing to upgrade for my podcast. Comes in pretty colours. Was using a flexi pop filter but just found one that fits snug,
I've been in broadcasting for over 45 years and the Blue Yeti is quite a steal. The sound quality is on par with microphones I've purchased for professional usage costing much more. While the build quality is good, I don't think I'd put these mics in a broadcast booth. Not because they don't sound as good, but the day-to-day knocks that a microphone in a radio or TV studio takes might be a bit much for the Yeti. For a home studio it's a perfect solution. I've been doing shows for broadcast from home (due to COVID restrictions) and the Yeti replaced a 9-year-old USB mic that developed an internal short. If you're a podcaster or someone who needs a good sounding USB mic, it's hard to go wrong with the Yeti.
I got this for voiceover work on some training materials I'm developing, and I expected it to be about half it's actual size. I thought it'd be about 1-1/2, it's closer to 2-3/4 or just about 3 really. The mount is metal and solid, much heavier than I thought, which is a good thing. I did have to make a stand to put it on to raise it to mouth level, so you may want to look at getting a Mic boom for it. Performance is basically so good that it just doesn't even matter anymore, for any normal use. It has a preamp that generally you don't even need. The multiple patterns are also great for the various typical uses you need, single person, interview/two people, omni etc. 1/2 thread mount in the bottom that you can adapt to 1/4-20 if you want, or just get a mic boom with ... So far so good, sounds excellent as expected. I will likely need to put it on a box to elevate it, or get a boom mount. Installation was removing from packaging and plugging in the usb cable. Done. This review is taking longer to write than the installation. What surprised me though is that it's about twice the size I expected. I figured it was maybe an inch and a half wide, subconsciously extrapolating from smaller hand held mikes I've had previously. It's 2-1/2 wide at the screen, 2-3/4 on the main body. 11-1/4 or so tall. I've seen complaints that the stand is flimsy, but it sure isn't, it's pretty weighty and metal, not plastic, which is good. You do need to tighten the side screws to firm positioning up, but that's done with fingers. There's a threaded hole on ... MoreSo far so good, sounds excellent as expected. There's a threaded hole on the bottom that's about 1/2 wide, apparently you can get a 1/4-20 adapter for it. I'm guessing it'll screw into a mike stand, but I don't have one to check. Nice rubber bottom, anti-skid and won't mark your desk up. I'm pretty happy with it, the build quality is good, no complaints there. Using with a Mac, just showed up in preferences as a selection for both input and output (has a headset amp built in, 1/8 jack). Recorded a test video screen capture with voice over, no problem. The multiple patterns are nice, I haven't tried them all yet, but I'll probably just use the Cardoid/single person pattern mostly. Ideal speaking distance seems to be around a foot, but you can easily use it from a yard or more away. Has gain control that I didn't even need to turn up at all. All in all, it seems like a no-brainer. I see why the major reviews are pretty unanimous in recommending it.
Blue makes one of the better consumer PC mics in the Blue Yeti. When you catch a sale the value is hard to beat. If you are an amateur musician, a video blogger, a pod caster or a twitch streamer who has out grown their head set mic, this is a great step up. Plus it is very easy to setup. This mic picked up great sound from my guitar amp 10 feet away and nearby acoustic was also crystal clear. Blue also makes a cheaper version called the snow ball that is also very good for the price, however the Yeti is where it is at, it is hard to beat. There are a few draw backs. First, a few competitors make similar mics at lower retail prices that can do the job, but when you find the yeti on sale (often) then this is less of an issue, these mics often have more hoops to jump ... First, a few competitors make similar mics at lower retail prices that can do the job, but when you find the yeti on sale (often) then this is less of an issue, these mics often have more hoops to jump through to get the same sound where as the Yeti is simple, plug it in, tell your software to use the yeti, choose the mode you want (on the back of the mic) and away you go. Second draw back is that the mic is too good for the streamers and gamers out there, it picks up keyboard and desk sounds causing annoyances coming through. Software auto ducking and such helps with this but you will want to get a mic boom to get it off the desk. Along with that, it does need a pop filter. It does a great job with outone mind you, but if you want the best sound you can get from it, you will want one. The biggest draw back is that i hasn't improved my singing voice... I guess that maybe too much to ask :-)
I purchased this microphone because I was tired of having to shout at the microphone that was in the web cam when I was talking to someone online. I purchased this microphone used, and was quite surprised at many things. To begin, it was not functioning properly when I got it and I had to learn how to disassemble the microphone to fix it. The fix was easier and faster than the time it took to disassemble it. The microphone picks up the slightest sounds when sitting near to you. It has 4 different settings for picking up sound including an omni directional setting. This microphone is literally like a mini microphone system for every type of setting that you need for recording and or talking online. It's such a nice setup to have that I would even recommend buying a used one that needs fixing if someone knew how to do the repair. If you're looking for a microphone I think you should seriously consider the Blue Yeti.
great mic, solid build quality and very affordable for both a starter or professional mic. audio quality is superb in terms of the clarity and crisp sound. comparable to the macbook pro of laptops, the sony xm4 of headphones, or the nike kobe shoe of basketball shoes in terms of its performance, ease of use and functionality. love the toggle between various modes and the ability to take in sound from all directions is super cool. definitely would recommend anyone and everyone who is interested in either podcasting, recording music, or anything related to needing good sound. and i believe it comes in a few of colors (black, white, silver) to suit your desk/sound setup
