I dithered over buying this, as I thought the eye shadow looked too pale & the lipstick too dark. I was completely won over by all the products in the kit. The cream is amazing for lots of moisturisation & is an excellent make up base - I hadn't tried it before & love it ! It went on so smooth and light but felt like a nice moisturizer at the same time. I was anxious to see how it would play with my typical powder foundation routine and it didn't disappoint! I let it sink in for a few minutes so that my skin felt moisturized but not tacky and then applied my concealer/foundation. Both products went on great and didn't cling weirdly or bunch up. It truly is a great base for makeup. I haven't used a primer much after loving how my makeup looks more with just moisturizer underneath but this gave me the best of both worlds. I feel like I got a nice smooth base but also super hydrated skin. I also love that it has a skincare aspect to it also so that I get the short term effect of my makeup going on smooth and also the long term skin-loving ingredients. A little goes a long way also! Highly recommended!
The texture of the Bobbi Brown Face Base is very nice. It's a bit thick and very hydrating. The packaging is kind of vintage looking. Overall, most of the ingredients contained in the face cream are very nice and very hydrating for someone who has normal to dry skin. It may be a bit too heavy for someone with oily skin. I'd give it 5 stars if it wasn't so fragranced. It smells very citrusy because of the grapefruit extract used and it's halfway up in the ingredient list. If you are sensitive to fragrance or essential oils, you may not want to get this. The fragrance is quite potent and my sinuses are currently stuffed and I can hardly smell things but I could definitely smell this.
