Although it’s not perfect, it can feel a little greasy at first and it smells of plastic (at least to me) even though it’s in scented and if you cry or rub too hard just hope you don’t get this in your eyes because it will hurt! Great affordable SPF but not for oily skin
3 February 2023

I have been using this as my go-to SPF for well over a year now. I find that with daily use it lasts a decent amount of time (my first tube lasted me about 6 months but I was only using it about 4-5 days a week). It sits under makeup beautifully without any pilling (which I have noticed in some other SPFs) and I often find that I do not need a moisturiser with it as it is very hydrating. My skin gets fairly oily during the day but as long as I set my face well, the SPF does not cause me any problems. For this reason, I tend not to wear it unless I am wearing makeup as it can be very shiny. However, if you do have really oily skin, I would agree with everyone else and say to avoid this as it can feel quite greasy and oily on the skin. It protects from the sun really well but would need to be reapplied if you are planning on being in the sun all day. I have worn just this on my face in the sun for a whole day and I burnt slightly on my nose and forehead but this would have been avoided if I were in the shade or had reapplied.Overall, I would say that if you are looking for a great affordable SPF to go under makeup then this is perfect but if you don't want to look shiny when wearing it on its own or have super oily skin then this is not going to be right for you.

Great for Dry Skin
20 July 2022

This product is very moisturizing and very gentle on the face. As an American I also like that it is Australian because I can have more confidence in the amount of UVA protection I am getting with the product.I love using this product when I am concerned about high sun exposure or my face is very dry or irritated. I use Adapalene and have had a few cases of the Rentinoid ugliest, and this moisture my face so well and I believe it helped my skin recover faster. It does not have hyaluronic avid in it for those who may be sensitive to that ingredient or can't have it in too many of their products. I don't use it on my eyes because my eyes are very sensitive to most chemical/organic sunscreens sold in the US.This product can easily be used daily, I just personally do not prefer to use it as my everyday sunscreen because my skin has always been more on the oily side, and I have found that putting this on my face in the morning makes me very shiny -- and that is even when I skip moisturer. I think if you have drier, sensitive skin this would be an excellent everyday sunscreen. I do like this for exercising, pool, beach, or other scenarios where the shine is not a concern for me.Overall I give this product 5 stars because I think it's a great product and for the price it's even better!!!!Oh also, the stuff may be shiny for those of us with oily skin, but there is no white cast.

Great sunscreen - just doesn’t tick all my boxes
9 March 2023

I’ve been trialling this sunscreen as a backup for my usual sunscreen and these are my major takeaways:Pros:- Absorbs into the skin well- No white cast- Very affordable- Wears well under makeupCons:- Not very suitable for oily/combination skin, I have combination skin and this tends to break up slightly around my T-zone, and if I wear with moisturiser this issue is even more noticeable- Stings eyes so not great for exercise or swimmingOverall I think this would be a great sunscreen for the right person, but I don’t see myself purchasing this again unless I had limited options.

High Hopes - Disappointed
27 April 2022

I'm sort of shocked by how well reviewed this is! It feels heavy on the skin and looks REALLY greasy. No amount of rubbing in or waiting makes it less greasy-looking. It is incredibly difficult to put makeup on over this because of the texture, and it caused my powder to clump too. It also seeped into my eyes after a few hours and irritated them badly. Because of the amazing reviews, I really have tried to give this a chance; I wore it several times and tried multiple ways of applying it/trying to cover the greasy appearance, but nothing helped. In its favour, this is very reasonably priced. I didn't notice any white cast (but I am also very pale). It does not have a strong smell, and it also did not irritate my skin at all or break me out. Let Down
10 November 2021

Reading all the reviews both on Superdrug and over the web - I was really excited to try this sunscreen. I've been looking for a good sunscreen for a while but this really did not live up to the hype for me.Keep in mind, I have normal/combination, acne-prone skin. I am mid-20's and of South Asian descent with tanned skin. The sunscreen promised to be not oily with no white cast. I would say that it doesn't leave a white cast like many sunscreens do but usually I find I can rub sunscreens in more and the white cast fades. However, this sunscreen is *oily* and not only is it very oily it remains that way for a while. Although it does sink in after around 15-30 mins, it keeps your face looking shiny and feeling tacky. Another point (though not super important) is how much plastic waste this product has. The 150ml tube is huge compared to other containers and the product doesn't reach half way in the container which sucks when it's made from plastic. All this to say is, I'm unsure if I just got a bad batch but I will not be trying this again. It wasn't much of a loss considering the price but I think after reading all the raving reviews I was really excited to try and hence really let down.

Not pregnancy safe
10 January 2023

This product is not pregnancy safe. It is a chemical sunscreen containing HOMOSALATE 10.00% W/W and OCTOCRYLENE 8.00% W/W. It's receiving a low rating because when I specifically asked Bondi Sands whether this product was safe during pregnancy, I received the following vague reply:"Thank you for reaching out to Bondi Sands đź’– Our SPF 50+ Fragrance Free Face Sunscreen Lotion is dermatologically tested and suitable for those with sensitive skin. As always, we would recommend doing a patch test first and checking with your GP to make sure this is okay for you!"This did not answer my question, despite the Bondi Sands team knowing that this product contains at least two ingredients that are considered to be unsafe in pregnancy.

Oily and greasy
8 April 2023

The description on the back states “fast absorbing, dries to an invisible, non-greasy finish”. This is a non-fact. The product is literally the opposite! I don’t usually rate products but I felt compelled to save someone $15. Its immediately greasy, doesn’t absorb and leaves you with that heavy sunscreen feel. As soon as you get mildly warm or step outside (not even on a hot day), it melts off and you have an oily film on your hands to deal with. Unless you’re planning on sitting still in a freezer, dont bother. Bondi Sands should really be reviewing this product.
