Almost as good as the old style Lycra Cottontails

Cottontails with Lycra had been my faves for many years but while I still got some for my mum, I stopped buying them for myself because the material & the shape changed dramatically a few years ago. Having seen some better reviews recently, I tried again and while they aren't as good as they used to be, they're back in my number 1 spot again. Thankfully, Bonds listened to complaints about the new oddly shaped waist (which was still too small even going up a size) so that problem is fixed and the waist is natural again. Although women with short bodies might find them a bit high, they're perfect for my 180cm height. Sadly, the material remains thinner than the old style and the snug compression feel isn't what it used to be BUT it's still there to a degree and that ... MoreCottontails with Lycra had been my faves for many years but while I still got some for my mum, I stopped buying them for myself because the material & the shape changed dramatically a few years ago. Having just bought them, I don't know how long the material will stay good. I suspect they won't last as long as the old style Bonds Cottontails with Lycra did but the quality might just be better than the disastrous new material of a few years ago that frayed and split after a short while. Fingers crossed - I do love them, anyway.

Best type of Bonds Underwear (added Lycra)

Very happy with my bonds underwear (with Lycra) purchase. They are well made with the addition of Lycra making them keep their shape and last longer. The seams are comfortable especially around the leg part (they don’t dig in to you like elastic does) and they remain unstretched (unlike non-Lycra underwear). I always buy this brand on-line now as I live in a remote area so don’t have the privilege of shopping local. Delivery was quick too!

These cottontails were once made from 100% cotton, hence the name. They were once made in Australia also. Now they're made from lycra/elastine with a small percentage of cotton.Way to go Bonds, ruining what was once a healthy and iconic garment and rendering it a product no different from what you can buy in any department store for a fraction of the cost for the same pitiful quality and composition. Why pay more for less, might as well buy Kmart brand briefs.

Classic, cotton comfort!
24 October 2023

What can I say - they are THE classic Cottontails, in quality, cut, comfort & cotton construction. I bought Bonds Classic Cottontails for my 93yr old Mum who has been wearing Cottontails (& only Cottontails) for the entire 6 decades I've know her (& probably before that too!) As children, Classic Cottontails, were the underwear Mum chose for her young daughters as well.Bonds Classic Cottontails have proven to be the underwear of choice over a lifetime, to one very loyal customer - my Mother!

DISAPPOINTED
5 October 2024

To say I was disappointed is putting it mildly (don't expect to win with this review). I have been wanting to buy Cottontails for ages, but the price has been horrendous. At 81, I decided to bite the bullet and treat myself. At $43 plus postge ofr 3, still expensive! If Ihadn't already washed all of them, and worn one I would have sent them back. Dreadful material, but the sizing.. I am a 16 in ALL my clothes, and these are TIGHT. Can't afford to buy more, maybe I should work on being asize 14 to fit into them. Money being tight, a pension doesn't for many luxuries, I may have to wait a while before I can wear them!!

Not as Good as Originally

I have bought 13 of these over the last few months. I have been wearing them for many years & they have been made superbly with great cotton & stitching. These last ones are not the top quality of the past plus the elastic stitching is breaking & fraying. Very disappointed!

PURCHASE OF SIZE 24 COTTONTAIL BRIEFS
29 October 2023

Firstly, I have bought and worn Bonds Cottontails for most of my adult life. I am 72. Since I last purchased Bonds Cottontail briefs (when they had a size TAG on the left side seam) I note that the Size 24 is significantly smaller than it used to be. I still have several new pairs of the briefs with the size tag as mentioned in sizes 20, 22 and 24. The current size 24 Cottontail briefs (with the brand and size STAMPED on the rear of the briefs) are more consistent with Size 20. For some insane reason Bonds obviously DO NOT think that plus size women, requiring larger briefs than Size 24, need ALL COTTON briefs. If, for instance, I wanted Size 26 I would have to buy a brief made with a mixture of lycra and cotton. The very last thing I need in the tropics is a brief ... MoreFirstly, I have bought and worn Bonds Cottontails for most of my adult life. I am 72. There are probably cheaper brands of cotton briefs available, but Bonds Cottontails have always been a quality product.

Quality has diminished
26 June 2024

I have been buying classic cottontails for years. However, of late I have noticed changes in the quality of the product that I find unsatisfactory. The elastic in the waist isn’t as generous as it used to be and the undies are tighter and this isn’t because I have put on weight. As well, the cuffs on the undies stretch quickly and the undies ride up. I do not put them in the clothes dryer and they are washed on a gentle cycle in my front loader. I haven’t changed to the new versions as I do not like the Lycra and the style isn’t to my liking but I will look for alternatives.

Quality of material used is disappointing
8 August 2020

I've been buying this style/product for a long time. Maybe as long as Bonds Cottontails with Lycra have been available. They are great as a work garment because they are warm and comfortable with lots of flexibility for bending and jumping in and out of trucks. I am pleased that this Bonds product is now being made in Vietnam instead of China. But unfortunately the quality has changed quite a lot over the years. The material is no longer as thick and soft as they were previously. Normally I purchase from Harris Scarfe but because of Covid I thought I would look online straight from the company who makes them. If I'd actually got my hands on a pair in a store I wouldn't have purchased. In future, I'm afraid, I will be looking for something else. Just received my cotton tails I have worn these nearly all my life and found the quality to be Slippy good. But I do not know what they have done to the sizing. I usually wear a size 22, but tried these on when I got them and they are too small. and now the caution in the cotton tail is a lot thinner than it used to be, and not as good quality. Very disappointed. Love to know what you have done to your sizing, as I will not be returning them as a probably cost me more to return them bought two pairs of 22s in skin coloured. I bought a pair six months ago and very disappointed as the elastic went around the top of the knickers before my cottontails would last me at least 12 months to 2 years before I would have to replace them because they went out of shape all the ... MoreJust received my cotton tails I have worn these nearly all my life and found the quality to be Slippy good.
