Saddle is indeed very comfortable. I have both this commuter fluid saddle for my road bike and the wider fluid saddle for my mountain bike. After only a year this seat failed and started leaking it's sticky blue sap all over my shorts. Once that happens the seat starts to lose it's shape so it's basically done.

Didn't even get 1100 KM to this seat before it started leaking discustingly sap like gel all over my bike shorts and my panniers - very hard to remove. In addition the gel compresses and doesn't return to form. Not a good seat.

This saddle was plenty comfortable to sit on, my hips are wider than average and I appreciate that it comes in a wide width. Width, shape, etc are very personalized characteristics of a saddle, but this one in the 165mm width was perfect for me. I didn't really notice the fluid part of it making much difference personally, but others might notice it. The reason for the three star rating is that while it was comfortable, one of the fluid compartments popped on me during a ride. The stuff inside that saddle is not pleasant to have on you or surfaces you have to touch. It's sticky and not exactly easy to wash off - I had to pre-scrub my pants by hand and then run them through the wash 4 times to get all the fluid off of them (tip if it happens to you, pre-scrubbing ... MoreThis saddle was plenty comfortable to sit on, my hips are wider than average and I appreciate that it comes in a wide width. Thankfully it happened on the way home and not on the way to work, or I woulda been sticky all day. Maybe mine was just defective, but I don't think I wanna risk getting that goo all over everything again. I'll stick with non fluid filled saddles from here on out.

I was using this saddle on my road bike which is currently connected to an indoor trainer. Unfortunately, this saddle is too wide for me. This doesn't mean that it won't work for you as Saddles selection is very personal. From weight standpoint, this saddle is heavy. However it would have been worth it had the saddle been comfortable enough. So I went to my old standby which is a leather saddle. For those of you who don't know, leather saddles conform to your individual anatomy (after a break in period.) I've used this saddle for many thousands of miles on my other bike so it is properly broken in.
I never write reviews, but my purchase of the Bontrager Commuter Fluid Saddle for my eMountain Bike has proved to be far more helpful than I’d dared hope for. Those soft spots on the saddle really work — at least for me — in alleviating some of the pressure on the sitz bones (Ischial bursa). My guess is that the process of aging has left me with less natural padding!
I purchased the 185mm version for my 2021 Trek FX3. I'm 6' 235 lbs. Took my first ride (16.3 miles) this morning. It was much more comfortable than the original seat that came with the bike. I normally ride 10-12 miles a couple times a week.
I like the overall design of this saddle, to look at.I really like the notch, it feels "anatomically correct" to sit on for a man.The rest of the saddle doesn't impress me at all. The gel doesn't feel padded to me, it feels hard, and transmits road vibration too readily. For now I'm going back to my old cheap highly padded Trek saddle.Me: Casual city cyclist, age 69, light build (not much internal padding)
I ride a low profile Serfas RX on a couple of other bikes, valuing comfort and junk-safety over all else. This one felt great in the store as I handled it, but naturally you can't know till you've ridden for a while. After about a year I have to say it's been amazing. I've put thousands of miles on it and my fella-business is fully intact, zero long term issues and my once-tender bifkin* is now back to it's normal candy-banana shape and texture. This is the European metric term for "taint" if I can say that here. If not, apologies.
The OEM saddle on my Sirrus X 5, was not cutting it after a couple hours on a ride. I tried the Ergon SFC3 base model, couldn't find the upgrade version in stock anywhere (worse than the OEM) and a Serfas MX-3 Dorado Chromoly, too spongy. I also tried add on gel covers without much success. From the first ride with the Bontrager I could tell that this saddle was a good combination of support and comfort. I ride 20-30 miles per day and so far have about 150 miles on the saddle. Also like that there is a add on clip so the rear light can be attached directly to the saddle. One con might be that this saddle is a bit heavier than others I tried (steel rails). I am 5'10' 160 lbs and purchased the smaller size.
Good interim saddle while I get used to riding long distances on my road bike. The Fizik saddle that I have is without padding and is tough on a rider who's just getting back into it. When I stop thinking about the kilos of the rider, I'll turn my attention to the grams of the saddle.
