I would like to give this more stars but it is difficult to. My husband and I both have this. Mine seems to work quite well. I love that it pairs with my lights so when I start to ride the lights just turn on, and turn off when I am done. It also tells me when they are low on charge.Downside - this unit often doesn't work well and there is exactly NO help to set up on Trek's site. The directions are abysmal. I was able to watch third party video's and get it working but it is cumbersome. My husbands first computer died in 4 months. Luckily our shop gave him a new one, despite it being "out of warranty". Who buys something that lasts only 4 months. CRAZY. When we got lights to pair with his they never worked properly. It turns on fine, and in the middle of the ride will stop giving output. Then it will randomly start functioning again after several miles. Pretty useless. So in 2 years, he has gone through 2 computers. I do not know why I got lucky and he did not but it is very frustrating. I was told to invest in something else if I want continued functionality.

Positive: It does what it is supposed to do. The speed, cadence and heart rate monitor devices all helps my training. Can view all of them on one screen. Seems to be an average bike computer for the price.Positive: Works great once you get it set-up.Negative: There is a four second delay but the truth is I believe all bike computers in this price range not connecting to GPS have that delay.Negative: Extremely difficult to set-up as the instructions are poorly written. But the truth is all bike computers come with horrible directions. Are they outsourced and written by the same person? But still worth buying it. Just keep playing with it and eventually you will get it set-up. I am sure your LBS can help too.Honestly, I thought the Cateye Padrone was better ... MorePositive: It does what it is supposed to do. But Cateye wouldn't fit on my Trek bike so I had to go with Bontrager. And like I said in the beginning, this Bontrager gets the job done. So buy this device and enjoy it!!!One other note: After looking at reviews of several different bike computers I have to say there are few great reviews on any of them be it cateye or Bontrager, etc. Just seems to be the way it is. So don't let mixed reviews scare you.

This product gives me the information I want (speed, cadence, time and distance) and controls my lights without a lot of distracting features. I use my Apple Watch and phone for heart rate, splits, ride mapping, calories burned and recording same. I ride at night and I really wish the backlit screen would remain lit as long as this unit kept my tail light lit. Coming down a curved hill at over thirty mph, having to take your hand from the handle bar to press the back light button does not contribute to a safe ride. This short coming keeps me from giving it 5 stars. For day light riders, I highly recommend this cycling computer.

I like the large display for my old eyes and everything installed fine with the included mount. how to use it isn't necessarily intuitive but with a quick reading of the manual it all makes fine sense. I do have a problem with the dual bottom display. I guess if you have more sensors it might make sense but with just speed and cadence sensors all I can see is speed cadence and cadence or speed speed and cadence. That's just dumb as a bag or rocks. How about speed cadence and something else? Av speed? Time? Clock? no, no, no. Just dumb as a bag of rocks. I can't imagine why they did that. If all you want is 2 displays then I guess it's a great computer.
Innovative design. Unfortunately, the gel grips became sticky and started peeling away within 1-2 weeks of purchase of the new bike. This was in a tropical climate, so that may have had something to do with it. Now, a year later, I cannot buy any kind of grip to replace them because the handlebars are unique: they are intentionally crushed into a "C" cross section where the grips seat (see photo), and nothing other than the gel grips with a special end plug will seat and clamp properly. Now I have to buy a whole new handlebar just to get grips that won't turn to sticky mush.
Like others, I wanted a simple, not GPS computer and I like the RIDEtime Elite, but can't figure out from reading the manual (written or on website) how you reset so you can get data on just one ride. Is there not a capability for cumulative data and also single ride data? All I can get is cumulative. Thanks anyone for any insight. I believe there is a button hidden at the back but that seemed like a really odd place to put a "single ride data wanted" button without losing all the data stored on the computer. Thank you!
Physical setup is really simple. Display and placement (compared to 30 years of previous experience) is very good. The display is no frills, but extremely legible... I have no complaints... "Just the facts..."Setting the unit up for actual use is still finicky. It's not impossible, but it requires patience. If you expect a "plug and play" experience with setup, look elsewhere... and, good luck!If you plan to use the unit on the road AND with an indoor trainer, remember to do the initial setup with the trainer disabled... if not, your trainer feedback will probably be wildly inaccurate!I've previously used a Bontrager Node 1.1, and it eventually failed completely... no response from any buttons at all even with a fresh battery. This Computer is great if you have Trek / Bontrager / Ant+ components. Mounted perfectly on my bike and tied in to my heart rate monitor, power meter on my cranks, and the Bontrager integrated duoTrap speed/cadence sensor. Easy to program and configure if you follow the YouTube videos which are much better than the Included manual.
I use two ANT sensors for speed and candenance plus a heart rate monitor. All are easily paired to computer. I was able to find a pair of Magene S3 sensors for under $40 (at big A) because sensors are not included. I run speed on top, which has a big easy to read display, with smaller bpm and candenance below. But there are a multitude of choices, but limited to 3 at same time. But there is a cool, and confusingly named scan function that can rotate the lower displays every few seconds. I used this function to add total ride miles. So the lower display rotates between bpm/cadence and total ride miles. It is easy to turn scan off. I deducted 1 star because a 2.5mm Allen is required to mount, and not included. I have many sizes but not this one, so had to buy one. ... MoreI use two ANT sensors for speed and candenance plus a heart rate monitor. All are easily paired to computer. works as advertised - took a while to install and setup - but instruction manual was well written and there were several you-tube's that were extremely helpful. seems like sensor on spoke will have to be watched as it may loosen. unit is small but readouts are large and easy to read. have enjoyed initial stages of use.

Bontrager RIDEtime Elite Cycling Computer
The Bontrager RIDEtime Elite looks like a simple odometer at first glance, but nothing could be further from the truth! With the RIDEtime Elite it is possible to measure your speed, cadence, heart rate and power output, among other things. The only thing about this bike computer that makes it simple is it’s ease of use. To register your speed and cadence, an ANT+ compatible sensor is required, such as a Bontrager DuoTrap S or other brand sensor. The Bontrager RIDEtime Elite is controlled by just two buttons, one on the front and one on the back. With these two buttons you can control everything on the 5 cm large, illuminated display. The display has three fields, so you can choose which three data readings you want to see, such as your speed, cadence (cadence), heart rate or power. With these functions you can view the average, the current and the maximum. You also have the option to display the distance (ride/total), time (clock, timer) or calories burnt. Because the RIDEtime Elite is equipped with all these user-friendly and automatic functions, all that’s left for you to do is enjoy your ride! The odometer is equipped with an automatic start/stop function, automatically registers a new ride and has a backlight that automatically adjusts to the light conditions. If you have Bontrager lights on your bike, you can set the daytime running lights to turn on and off automatically at the start and end of your bike ride.
