GAS COOKTOP

Functionality of this cook top is good. I do like the Flame Select function, although to me it makes more sense to have the lowest setting first and the highest setting last - just a personal thing, doesn't interfere with function. Design lets it down a little, the cast iron trivets tend to move around a bit. Nothing really locking them into place.A little disappointed in the quality of the stainless steel. A small stain occurred in the first week of use when a small piece of onion came out of a pan. Its a small stain, but I know its there, and I chose stainless steel for the "stainless" part. Overall Cooktop is ok.Note to self - look at the actual model instore. Purchased during covid lockdown, so instore shopping was not an option. :)

I purchased this for my new kitchen renovation after reading the reviews. I like it but not 100% sold after using for a few weeks. It looks great and very stylish, the wok burner is fabulous and I Iove the flame control for gas, what a great idea. It's also easy to clean. On the down side the cast iron trivets are not quite level so the pot at the back rocks, doesn't feel entirely safe that it wouldn't tip over, though I'm sure the rocking isn't enough for that to happen, but you want your pots to feel solid on the trivet. The black of the cast iron also scratched almost straight away (perhaps because of the rocking? Though it's happened around the other areas as well - not enough to take away from the look of the cook top but disappointing when I've only used it ... MoreI purchased this for my new kitchen renovation after reading the reviews. It can feel crowded to have 2 pots going at once and the heat from the back burner was causing a big pot on the side burner to boil where it was near the back burner when I was wanting it to be only just simmering. I would like to give 3.5 stars but there isn't that option. I went with a different look and I do like it over all, I just think that the design doesn't quite work as well as it could.

Very happy with my purchase. Love the offset / diamond orientation. I can have two large pots / pans side by side with no issues for space.Cook top is very well made with very durable cast iron grates and a beautiful stainless finish. I would have liked metal knobs instead of plastic, but its ok as they're well sealed with rubber gaskets around the bottom to prevent spills. This was the reason for replacing my old cook top, liquid had seeped under the control knobs coroding the switches beyond repair.Cleaning is easy which is great. When first installed, I was worried as the surface appeared to be a fingerprint magnet, and it was. But after my first wipe down with some simple spray and wipe it came up bright as a button and clean as a whistle. My only negative ... MoreVery happy with my purchase. I would recommend having your installer adjust one of the flames to a lower setting for simmering. Even the lowest burner won't simmer a large pot without overheating it. To remedy this situation, I've purchased a simmer mat / heat diffuser from amazon which should solve this issue.Otherwise, than these minor gripes, this an excellent cooker that I'm very happy with, and would happily recommend. Please improve the packaging of this product
27 November 2017

I picked up one of these cooktops from Harvey Norman for out new kitchen. Three days before the installation I opened the cooktop only to see a large dent in one corner. Close looked showed that the packaging has damaged. After being on the phone with someone from HN all afternoon (6 times) they said they cannot find another one in Sydney and will have order in, which takes more than three days. I went to HN that afternoon and return the cooktop and got a refund. I managed to get hold of one in Goodguys same day. On the day of the installation we unpacked it to find ANOTHER dent in the new one !!!. Had to drive back to goodguys and got a replacement (the one one was left) just in time for installation that afternoon. Bosch really need to improve the packing of this product. at the end of the day I'm sure customers will ends up paying for these defects indirectly.

Reasonably happy

I am reasonably happy with my new purchase. It gets a bit crowded with the pots sometimes because of the placement of the burners but it is manageable with a bit of juggling. The trivet to the back burner is leaning down slightly just enough that the pot on the burner rocks when you are stirring anything which is rather annoyingI contacted Bosch and after several phone calls they have sent a replacement which was good except it is exactly the same as the original therefore I still have the same problem. Just doing a bit of research and I found another review from 2018 where someone had the same problem so from that I can only assume, as these are cast iron trivets, the mould they are using is slightly out so no point getting yet another replacement and it isn’t ... MoreI am reasonably happy with my new purchase. This Cooktop Saved My Marriage
25 March 2021

Well not entirely, but it helps. We do a lot of cooking and my husband was constantly ruining non stick cookware and being frustrated (yelling) with steel frypans when eggs would stick. With the flame select on this cooktop he can now heat the pans slowly and turn them right down so he is not cooking things too quickly. We even have a theme song for this cook top, when someone has the flame up too high we sing "flame seleeeeeeeeect"quite like a 1990's shampoo commercial. oh how we laugh. The layout looks good and the way it is all flat means you can move things around and rest them on the edge. Easy to clean, bit hard to wipe around the knobs as they are quite close together. We would have liked one of the wider models that are popular with the kids these days but we were restricted with the layout of our kitchen, this is the best of both.

Very Happy
11 February 2022

Really pleased with this cooktop. It had great reviews, I had read some doubts about the diamond layout and the power selection on the knobs but this isn't a problem. It does take a bit of shuffling if you're cooking with a couple of pots and large frypan at the same time but it does the job and I love that the frame is so supportive that you can easily rest a pot or a dish to one side without it falling and spilling. It looks smart, ignites quickly, and does the job well. I've been buying all my appliances from Appliances online for the last few years - fridge, washer, dryer, heater, and smaller appliances and I can't recommend them enough. The pricing and the service is second to none. Thanks guys!

very good product
28 May 2021

I very much like the way the gas is so easy to control and that the burner covers do not get brown all the time and need scrubbing the way my previous gas cooktop did. However the knobs turning on the gas are a little fragile (plastic not metal) and one was damaged within two months. This is not a deal breaker except the Bosch customer service was not as helpful as one could have wished in getting a replacement knob even though I was paying. However this may having been due to Covid lockdown in Victoria. Overall though a very good product as far as cooking and looks.
