Previously I had a 100mm cheap angle grinder and have used plenty before that so I have a pretty good reference when comparing this unit. I decided to get a 5" this time to get a bit more depth to my cuts. The gear box is nice and small which allows more of the disc to be used than some cheaper units.Firstly the slimline body really is a joy to hold. Its circumference is small enough that I can comfortably hold it with one hand if required and use for long periods of time without getting a cramped or exhausted hand. It's light too, which makes it easy to manoeuvre. The on/off switch is also well designed and simple to turn on and latch with a flick of the thumb, which is a massive improvement over some other designs I have used. The shank lock button activates smoothly and makes it easy to change discs - the included tool has a nice wide set of teeth which provide a good bit and allow you to change discs without slipping and hurting your hand.Perhaps my favourite feature of this grinder though, is the quick start/stop action - it fires up really quickly and quietly and stops just as quickly, making it safe to put down soon after turning it off. I can't comment on the longevity as I haven't used it for long but it seems to have a good build quality. Overall all these small things add up to a really pleasant experience and I would recommend this unit.

I checked out the reviews and chose this Bosch grinder to cut pavers and blocks for my Xmas DIY project. I have a number of Bosch tools and they have all been great. Had an issue with the grinder and had to contact Bosch to sort it out. They sent me a replacement grinder and now I can finish my project. Really appreciate the great customer service and support. I will be buying Bosch again when I need another piece of kit to add to my collection.

Considering this is just a 710 watt motor, this little grinder is great. It’s done work it wasn’t designed to do (I should have used a more powerful grinder), it powered through everything I’ve thrown at it. I’ve got no hesitation in recommending this tool as a great general purpose grinder to buy.
Not thick or top heavy. The Bosch is compact well balanced design for easy holding for better control, grip and safety. Solid build and quality plastic. Long quality power cord. The switch is on the front side, less prone to nocks and accidental shut off with easy thumb operation. The Motor runs very smooth and does not kick on start up. It has no problem maintaining torque during use and does not appear to get to hot under heavy load. If you intend to give this grinder allot of serious work outs, easy access to clean and change motor brushes means its in for the long haul. The handle is disappointing small and may be a problem if you have large hands. It is also very smooth plastic providing poor grip. The handle is disappointing small and may be a problem if you have large hands. It is also very smooth plastic providing poor grip. The large 2 in one tool is a great feature, easier to use then common small ones however no were to store it but the provided case. I drilled a small hole in my tool and used a electrical tie onto the power cord near the plug. Also a reminder to unplug before any adjustments. The hold button is also very easy to press with a good spring set up when changing blades. The blade guard locks in tight for safety but find a bit fiddly to move. The case it comes in is solid but I would prefer it more compact however you can use it to carry other bits and things if need be. Bosch design and china build with a 6 year warranty with registration. Warranty covers manufactures faults not abuse or wear and tear. It does not appear to mind hard work. I keep vents clean, give it a rest now and then and expect it will get me through many years of reliable work at home and some light trade. Thumbs up from me
Quality is good.Easy to handle
I currently on this grinder and it just died after 4 years of heavy abuse (boilermaker)Checking to see if they are in stock as I’ll never go past this unit.Nice & light, small enough to be held in one hand and has a side lock-on switch which is rare.Excellent Grinder
I bought this as I use them with aluminium milling disc as they are only 720w and the small profile helps when holding them especially if the blade bites. And they work perfectly. If I was using them for grinding/cutting steel I would go the 1900w as they have a lot more torque.
Awesome grinder, nice and thin and can be used 1 handed very easily, enough grunt. Stoked with the purchase.
Very good grinder to do the tough jobs, reliable and long lasting.
