I had initially tried my old David Clark's and they worked ok but were bulky and heavy. I then moved to a lighter pair of sennheisers which were ok but allowed the noise in as they didn't cover my ears fully and neither had anr. The 737ng is a horribly noisy cockpit and most people wear either these or the David clark anr sets. I chose these as I prefer the cup to completely cover my ear. They have exceeded my expectations with regard to reduction of noise. I am less tired at the end of the flight too. They do clamp your head a little but not like David Clark's and are not too heavy. Seems to last a while on the battery. Bit of a pain to pack away after a flight as they are a little more bulky. Any cons are balanced by the noise reduction.

I bought a new Bose A20 to replace my … Bose A20. For the wide variety of flying I do, from GA to Jumbos, its the solution that works. Well, until it doesn’t. My old A20 put up with 12+ years of my punishment before having any issue larger than a mic muff or ear seal replacement. I will have it refurbished so afterwards I will have 2! I have tried just about everything and while some headsets may ne better in specific situations, the A20 remains the all-around Gold Standard.Oh, and Marv Golden got it to me in time! During the Christmas rush. In a snowpocalypse. Thanks, Marv!

I simply can’t imagine how a headset could get any better. Spend the extra money and get the Bluetooth option I can stream in a little relaxing back ground music flying and they’ll automatically cut the music off for important announcements. The noise cancelation is out of this world. Noisey piston engine flights turn into peaceful relaxation although there are very fine tuning dials for left and right if you want to pipe in just a little engine noise. Just an astounding stellar set worth every penny to vastly improve the flying experience. Just buy them.
So far it appears that the advertised claim of a Bose rebate program for CFI’s is fraudulent. Bose says something about high demand has caused them to suspend the CFI rebate. They don’t announce this, they just render the required link inop. They also claim the suspension is temporary . . . .You guys have been great, and the product is great too. I just wonder with such a good product, why Bose thinks they have to resort to fraud.
This is my first ANR headset. Meets all of my expectations. Very light on my head. Extremely clear communications. So happy that i bought it. And the folks at Golden Pilot couldn't have been better!

Decided not to fly in years past when I could not dedicate adequate time and frequency to satisfy my personal minimums for safety/competency. Trained originally with no headsets years ago. All the new tech in flying is awesome including ANR. Definitely worth it to have Bluetooth to link with ForeFlight (and phone). Haven't done much but basic maneuvers and pattern work in first two weeks back in the saddle, but was amused to have my headphones gently and automatically announce final approach, runway 5 as I finished my turn to final at an uncontrolled field. I didn't really want to like the Bose because I'm not a huge fan of the brand in home audio, but the Bluetooth works well, pairs easily, has a separate volume control (besides the left/right intercom volume control), and has there is a handy switch for selecting muting or off for the Bluetooth source. Clips are compact and work well to secure the controller on your left pants leg while in the left seat. Sound is slightly boomy for stereo listening to music, but is otherwise quite good. Voices on bluetoothed phone calls and radio/intercom sound (the most important) are outstanding. I really liked the Dave Clark DC One-X, but the noise reduction was better and the fit was generally more comfortable on the Bose. Had read that some felt the headset made it too quiet and therefore disconnected from engine sounds important for flying with the Bose. Definitely not true in a 172. Sound is very natural but no more air compressor in your head feel after 30 minutes in the plane. Compared the two headsets standing beside a running generator - both were excellent but the Bose reduced the noise better/more. As for the assertion that the Bose only seems better due to introducing more white noise, I don't think so. The DC's are great but actually are the more hissy sounding when ANR is activated in a quiet environment. I would still buy the DC Ones for a second pair, but for the cost of a couple hours dual time wet, the Bose has my vote.

The cord between the sockets and the controller might be long enough on certain aircrafts, but I am using it on a CRJ where they are behind the pilot seats, lower than the armrest. Hanging the controller is not an option. I have found a way by using an extension (that I had to buy, adding weight and requiring extra space), that allows me to hang it somewhere in front of me. But even this is a problem because the controller is meant to be set hanging. In the CRJ the sockets will always be lower than the controller, thus, the upper part is likely to be damaged because of the stress of the cord. Can’t tell the difference between the A20 to be honest. sturdy, feels light and great Noise cancellation.Cons-Controller could have been updated like the Lightspeed Delta Zulu-tap to hear feature can be accidentally activated when adjusting headset-clamping force feels light that it kinda slips-old bag looked better and had more utility
