Bose F1 Model 812 Flexible Array Loudspeaker Black
The Bose F1 Model 812 flexible array loudspeaker is portable loudspeaker that lets you control its vertical coverage pattern. Simply push or pull the array into position to create "Straight," "C," "J" or "Reverse J" coverage patterns. And once set, the system automatically changes the EQ to maintain optimum tonal balance for each coverage pattern. So whether you're playing at floor level, on a stage, or facing raked seats or bleachers, you can adapt your PA to match the room. Flex array is a flexible baffle that can be configured into four unique shapes, allowing the customer to choose the suitable coverage pattern for the application. Vertically oriented 8-driver mid/high line array, with each driver mounted on a custom 100° waveguide, helps deliver wide, consistent coverage. LF driver provides high performance at low frequency for strong low-frequency output. Bi-amplified design with 2 high-output, Class-D amplifiers to separately power the FLEX array and LF driver. 2 input channels with independent volume controls and line level/mic switch on channel 1.

Recently upgraded to the full Bose F1 Sub & Flexible Array system and I couldn't be more blown away by them. The clarity of sound from the 812's are phenomenal. The deep bass from the F1 Subs is ridiculous and the pair together is just heaven. Compact and easy to transport makes this system the perfect setup in my eyes. The only negative is the price but it is definitely worth it and I figured, I'll never have to buy speakers again as there isn't an event too big or too small that these couldn't handle. It's why you buy Bose in the first place....superior quality to everything else out there.....👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

I have been in a hobby level rock cover band for 20 years. In the college years, we had our own PA. As members got older and spread out in adulthood, we sold off our PA and have been hiring out our sound reinforcement for our occasional bar gigs and town festival stuff that we do. We got tired of paying out so much for someone to run sound. We also don't like hauling in cart loads of gear to get a full, powerful sound. So one day I happened to hear a band off in the distance at an outdoor event that sounded rich and full. As I neared the band, I discovered their sound was coming from these two tiny Bose F1 stacks. I had never had any real experience with Bose, except for remembering the "wave radios" back in the 90's. I have also heard the L1 system at several small ... I have also heard the L1 system at several small performances by acoustic players and have been impressed with those setups as well. So I was pretty blown away at the sound that was coming from the small F1. It was every bit as good as the 18" subs and two 15" w/ horn cabs that we were typically used to using. So, we purchased two 812's and two matching subs. We have been using them for about 9 months now. Our PA is literally let up in less than 5 minutes. One person can make two trips to the trailer and have them inside. We are a 5 piece rock band with loud drums and Marshall amps. These things are great for the bars and small outdoor gigs that we do. Only after purchasing these did I realize there was this "Bose hater or Bose fanboy" ideology in the sound industry. So my opinion is unbiased to the "Bose" pre-judgments. I know what I hear as a part time musician/singer that likes rich full sound, with tight powerful bass and extreme ease of setup. My only complaint is the cost. Wow, they seem to be expensive, especially when compared to the mountain of cheaper gear that could be purchased for the same money. But you must hear these things in person to believe the sound that comes from such a small package.

I was very skeptical at first, but after listening to them..blew me away and fell in love with these F1s. The Mains are loud and clear at '' C'' position, the subs are awesome for just two 10s''. These subs are so loud and hits pretty low for just two 10''s. They don't hit that limiter early, like most powered subs. The Mains are super clear and loud as well. Great buy, pricey but worth every penny. One of my best investment. Saved me lots of time and space hauling them super easy in my truck or SUV. I use just One set for most of my gigs (two subs two tops).

Sound second to none very clear had the Peavey XR 8600 system tops and subs.. except the PVS we're a little lighter non-powered speakers so the speakers only got a thousand Watts with Peavey 8600 mixer with the Bose you get a thousand watts per speaker no comparison Bose all the way Bose f1 system bought both tops and bottoms is turely compact and very porable. I don't know how it would compare 2 JBL SRX speakers but just for the lightweight alone it's worth it..its very clear to bet it would fair well against jbl srx speaker's. A little pricey but go price jbl SRX speakers and weight..
I play background instrumental guitar music for small to medium coffee houses and upscale venues. normally, I prefer to play, unplugged, but in the larger venues and patio settings, I have always had the problem of not having the penetration to the rear. i.e. , the people in the back cant hear unless I turn up the volume and blow the people in the front out of their seats, which really ticks off the food servers because nobody wants to sit in that station. ( I don't blame them). Over the last couple of years I have tried out many portable units, including all of the l1 series Bose and it just wasn't right, until I tried this f1 812 unit. Whether you sit 3 or 30 feet from the speaker, you can hear every note without straining or going deaf. the unit is at its best ... Whether you sit 3 or 30 feet from the speaker, you can hear every note without straining or going deaf. the unit is at its best with the sub, but using the 812 portion without the sub is no slouch either. This unit is the shiznits !! It is good looking in an elegant way and the Bose logo gives the performance a higher perceived value, which does help the gratuity envelopes. (mostly I use a tip jar next to my cd display, but at the classier venues, I use a gratuity envelope. not so tacky and its nice that the servers don't know how much I am making). I did try this one last, only because of the price point. Once again, I am reminded, that you get what you pay for! This is no exception to this rule! If I were asked what improvements could be made, I would say that I would like to see 3 things. 1. both units could do with a 120v female electrical plug so that I can power my wireless, and daisy chain the electrical to both units, without having to drag a power strip along. (most places are hurting for outlets and it would be more professional to only need 1 instead of 3). 2. retractable castors on the sub would make it easier to move around with the unit assembled and then when retracted, the unit would be stable. 3. black aluminum support bracket instead of plastic. no problem yet, but.. all in all, well done! I've had these for almost a year now and use them for DJ'ing and live sound. The flexible array is NOT a gimmick and works very well. I used them on a J curve for an outdoor show and the dispersion was absolutely fantastic. I walked the whole area and had almost no drops in my mains, just the usual front triangle but it was smaller than any other setup I've used. These speakers put out a level of sound of other speakers twice their size. They do a pretty good job of giving you a nice honest sound and aren't too EQ'd put naturally. They are a bit harsh in the 2-3k area, but Bose is always glassy sounding. Truthfully that's only an issue with recorded music in a smaller room where the arrays don't have the room to open up.I adore these, they're very well built, ... They are simple in their inputs and outputs, which I appreciate, less to break and more money into the cabinet and speakers. I love just hooking up one of the tops I. Full spectrum mode and shaking my house apart. You would be impressed at how much bass just these tops put out.The integrated top stand on the subwoofer is the COOLEST feature I've ever use, and the fact that they have a cable channel on either side means I can keep my wedding gigs very clean looking. The Bose logo never offends either. If you can afford them, get them. They're the most versatile full spectrum PA system that is half the weight and size of any other system putting out this kind of sound. Well built, unlike newer JBL units, and sounds great.
While I was having a bit of buyers remorse when I first bought them, those fears quickly disappeared when they delivered. I tested them with some canned music for some testing and they sounded really good. It was not until I used them for FOH for my classic rock band did I understand how well they perform. Fully miked drums, bass guitar, lead guitar, keys and six vocals. Our desk is a X32-Mix Behringer 32 channel. The speakers we clean, full, and more than enough power to fill the room. Leaps and bounds from the 802's and 502's. Incredibly portable. Bose knocked it out of the park with these models.
I previously owned a Bose L1 Model II with Tonematch, as a replacement of our outdated bulky PA. While I really enjoyed the sound quality, it just didn't stack up because we mic all our instruments. Enter the F1. I just can't push this baby hard enough, and the sound is incredible. We also found that floor monitors are no longer necessary because feedback isn't an issue. I'll be buying another side in the near future. The only two drawbacks are: covers aren't included and carry a high price tag; and I think the integrated stack mount for the array is a little flimsy.
We could never get the sound quite right in our church and we decided to spend some money and replace all our speakers. The difference in sound quality from what we had before to these was noticeable by every one I asked. Very clear. Can produce the volume we need for both adults and even teens at our youth group. (HipHop/Dance music sounds amazing) The only two gripes I would have are the really low end bass is not as good as our previous 18" powered sub... but I kind of expected that. (It's a much punchier bass) Also, you need to air these things out after taking them out of the box. They have a weird smell to them and it took a few days for the smell to go away. Other than that... but these. A little pricey but for the sound quality and portability... they are ... We used the original L1 M1's for 5 years. We finally parted with them and decided to upgrade. We have been very please with the purchase. The tops allow you to direct sound up, down, or straight out. The subs are surprisingly good. We were concerned that they would not add enough bottom end for bass and drums. The are adequate. Two of these are great for small to medium venues. We have since added two (other brand) tops and subs to our overall sound for large and outdoor performances. Overall, This is a very nice system if sound quality is important to your performance.
