For example, the QuietComfort 45 (QC45) headset can connect to devices that don’t have Bluetooth connectivity. It takes less than 10 seconds to be enable, which is excellent. Also, connecting an additional speaker to create a Speaker Group, you allow yourself to be surrounded by sound. The Bose Music App also gives you the audio sync option with the TV or among the speakers for the perfect viewing and listening experience. The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 is an excellent choice for a soundbar that can stand on its own and produce amazingly rich sound at lower and higher volumes from so many audio sources but can invite so many other Bose products to the party to create a symphony in your household.

Great piece of sound kit and sound experience.

The company consistently delivers in terms of specifications and build quality, staying on par with the expected standards. In the realm of sound quality, Bose has set a reliable benchmark over time. The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 follows this trend. It's appropriately sized, meticulously constructed, offers a taste of Dolby Atmos magic with the right soundtrack, and competes competitively in an already crowded market. Moreover, it unmistakably resonates with the classic Bose audio signature – a testament to the brand's identity.Factor in a range of well-executed control options, its compatibility with larger home cinema sound systems, and a subtle yet distinct sense of ownership pride, and the argument for its appeal strengthens. If only the Smart Soundbar 600 didn't attempt to impose a spatial audio facsimile on standard soundtracks and wasn't pitted against such formidable competition, it would easily top any discerning consumer's shortlist.Bose Smart Soundbar 600 Review: Key PointsPositioned mid-range in Bose's soundbar lineup, ranging from the sub-£180 Solo Soundbar II to the just-under-£900 Smart Soundbar 900, the Smart Soundbar 600 strikes a balance in size, price, and Dolby Atmos quality. Akin to the priced and sized Sonos Beam Gen 2, it becomes an all-around favorite.Equipped with five drivers, strategically arranged to deliver a sonic height essential for spatial audio, Bose keeps the power and frequency response specifications a mystery. Despite this secrecy, the Smart Soundbar 600 offers flexibility through control via Amazon Alexa, the Bose Music app, or the included remote control.Apart from the essential HDMI eARC input for Dolby Atmos, the Bose connects seamlessly through digital optical input, Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Wi-Fi, and Spotify Connect. Beyond being a standalone audio system, it seamlessly integrates into broader multichannel or multiroom setups with other compatible Bose speakers.Design and FeaturesIn terms of design, the Bose Smart Soundbar 600 navigates a fine line. It strikes the right balance – compact enough to complement a modest TV yet assertive enough for a larger screen. Its power ensures it can fill even a sizable listening room with sound, all while maintaining a premium look and feel despite its mainstream price.Thankfully, the Smart Soundbar 600 achieves this with finesse. At 694 x 104 x 56mm (WDH), it perfectly fits under a 65in screen and doesn't overpower a 43in TV. Weighing 3.1kg, wall mounting would be a breeze if device got wall mounting holes available by design or at least some streamlined but dedicated wall brackets but because currently not included in the packaging can give some folks a small hmmm for the price tag asking when noticed this option missing from the 600 Bose sound package.Anyway,Primarily constructed from plastic, the Smart Soundbar 600 exudes quality, with a tactile feel and careful assembly. A metal grille across the top and front and sides adds to its understated yet elegant appearance.Sound delivery relies on five speakers – a 32mm soft-dome tweeter for the high frequencies, a full-range 44 x 102mm racetrack driver at each end of the front face, and two 57mm full-range drivers firing up and out from the top surface. Reflecting sound from the ceiling adds a sense of height, making it unsuitable for rooms with vaulted ceilings. This driver arrangement, along with rear-venting bass reflex ports for low-frequency depth, aims to provide a Dolby Atmos spatial audio experience. Bose's 'TrueSpace' technology ensures that the clever engineering doesn't go to waste when listening to non-Atmos content, attempting to create a spatial audio sensation regardless of the audio format – be it 5.1-channel, stereo, or any other.

Called again. Day or two...same thing.I have replaced the wires, tried using the Optical, tried both at the same time, but the soundbar has a mind of its own and connects about 80% of the time. IF IT CONNECTS IT WORKS!In addition, just to rub salt in the wound (about every 60 days) my BOSE APP magically resets so I need to re install the soundbar to the app. BTW: I have excellent uninterrupted WIFI very close to the unit.Summary: If you're looking for a nice sound but are willing to take a chance on it connecting then this is for you. When it connects it works, when it doesnt its back to the tinny tv sound. I roll the dice everytime I turn the TV on. This evening its not connecting so i'm watching Kentucky vs Jackson State with my teeny tiny TV speakers.Louisville, Kentucky

The actual app controls use a stupid UX, so it's difficult to understand what input it's on when you switch between Bluetooth or tv input. I hate this soundbar. It's a 500 dollar paper weight. Do yourself a favor and buy something else. This product has made me HATE bose. I will never buy another product from them. They should fire all the of the people responsible for the terrible app and update process and start from scratch. Also, maybe figure out how to work with sony televisions. Asshats.

The sound quality of this speaker is excellent but I'm surprised Bose dropped the ball on other areas of product design. These issues are so incredibly silly, have nothing to do with the audio quality, but completely ruins the experience.1) The controller... An awfully cheap plastic little nugget. Really snaps you back to reality that this isn't a high quality device.2) The app.. it's just not good. Fails to connect often and has very few options. My setup was a pain due to this.3) The ANNOYING system sounds with NO option to customize or turn them off. The 'bluetooth connect confirmation noise' is so frustratingly god awful and loud. Bose, please just use the built in blue light indicator to tell me it's connected to a device. I don't need my eardrums blasted by this 'chime'.

[Rewarded Review] Fool me once...

This soundbar is a joke. I was convinced in the store by a "pro" that I shouldn't buy a Samsung soundbar to go with my Samsung Smart TV. Now(regardless of what I change the HDMI arc setting to in the app) I have to turn my TV off twice every night because after about 30 seconds the soundbar turns it back on after I turn it off the first time. The bass module to go with the soundbar costs almost twice as much as the soundbar itself. The soundbar doesn't sound as good as the small Bluetooth(also Bose) one I got off Amazon for less than 200 bucks.Periodically, the sound will cut out for several seconds at a time when I'm streaming on one of my TV apps. This is one of the worst purchases I've made in a long time. I will never go against my instincts in favor of a Best Buy employee's opinion again. And this will be the last Bose purchase I make.P.S. search Google for this TV issue before you buy ANY of these sound bars, from the 500 to the 900 series of them. They all do this, and there isn't a real fix.

[Rewarded Review] Impeccable Sound and the 900 >>>> 600

This speaker sounds unbelievably good. It’s unmatched even by Sonos in my opinion and I’m v particular about the quality of sound because I use it to DJ events (just making playlists on Spotify, but I’m pretty good, especially now with this incredible speaker, you could find me on Spotify- im Diana.soulburn anyway listen to my tracks on this speaker and you will be blown away by the quality of the sound! Plus it interfaces with Alexa (though the quality there is not as good but that’s not a Bose issue I believe that is an Amazon issue).Oh and I got mine in an open box for a fraction of the cost, and after a few hiccups getting it set up, it works perfectly. I’d say it’s worth going out of your way to save the money to upgrade to the 900 over the 600 (I tried them ... MoreThis speaker sounds unbelievably good. I’d say it’s worth going out of your way to save the money to upgrade to the 900 over the 600 (I tried them both at home with the same playlist). As you can see from the photos, the speaker is very very long. (Photos represent the scale, I had to use props to demonstrate scale).Hence; if you want it to look cool under your television, you’d want your tv to be a 42 inch or greater because otherwise the speaker will look very oversized in comparison which is a design choice I personally wouldn’t condone. (I love interior design it’s one of my skills!)Please see photo of my fire place and mantle not only as evidence that the speaker is okay under a 42 inch tv (mine is a Samsung Smart tv and Art tv called The Frame and it’s phenomenal, I also got it at Best Buy), but also as evidence that the aforementioned interior design skillz are at least somewhat accurate to the average person reading this review. Though I do have a dream to reface the fireplace I gotta say.Overall Reveiw: 9/10 only because Alexa isn’t smooth sailing but also because it’s kind of finicky with AirPlay.Sound Quality like no other. You can hear a pin drop on volume 10%. It’s insane. Buy it, esp if you snag a deal like i did on Open Box Excellent.

I truly wish I had a better review to share with you. Ive been a loyal Bose consumer for over 20 yrs. Every device in my home from a soundbar, to portable units, ear bugs, headphones, speakers for my computer are Bose. Ive NEVER been so dissatisfied with a purchase, than I was with this combination Bose soundbar and Bass module. Everyone asked me the size of my room, type of flooring Ive, did I calibrate the system etc.. there is no reason other than it was substandard to any other Bose product Ive ever purchased. I spoke to the best buy rep and they suggested possibly a defective unit. These were purchased brand new, not open box so i couldnt really say. I went through 3 different soundbars/speakers/bass modules and have now settled on a JBL soundbar/bass module and am super impressed with this purchase. The price was less than what I spent on either of the Bose or Samsung systems and the combo came together. Finally, im satisfied!! I hope this helps you with your future purchase.

[Rewarded Review] Sounds bigger than it looks

After purchasing a LG C2 in May 2023, it was determined that the TV speakers would not be adequate for long-term use. I had initially written off Bose soundbars based on negative reviews, despite happily enjoying a Bose CineMate 2.1 system since 2005. However, after conducting additional research, I was prepared to try the Bose 600, which I purchased directly from the manufacturer in August 2023 while on sale for $399.Before the Bose, we tested the Sonos Arc, paired with Ikea Symfonisk rear surrounds – unfortunately, that setup did not sound all that impressive for its cost. Next, we auditioned the Sonos Beam Gen 2 + Sonos Sub Mini, which did improve upon the TV speakers, but ultimately failed to deliver a satisfying listening experience for the price. Here are ... MoreAfter purchasing a LG C2 in May 2023, it was determined that the TV speakers would not be adequate for long-term use. Next, we auditioned the Sonos Beam Gen 2 + Sonos Sub Mini, which did improve upon the TV speakers, but ultimately failed to deliver a satisfying listening experience for the price. Here are some observations on the Bose 600’s features and user experience:Initial Setup: Some reviewers have complained about needing to install the Bose Music app on their phone to setup the Bose 600. As with any device that utilizes a Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth connection, the requirement of a smartphone and installed app for full product functionality is expected and acceptable. A firmware update is required during setup – be advised that the update process may take longer than expected (15 to 30 minutes), so please be patient (a trait that many reviewers seem to lack). Our network speed is 200 Mbps.TV Connection: The HDMI cord provided in the box is not compatible with all devices and may not be HDMI 2.1 compliant. Based on comments by other reviewers (specifically those experiencing issues with LG C2 connectivity), I set up the Bose 600 using a Spigen Ultra High-Speed Certified Cable and have not experienced any issues.Bose Music App: The Sonos app may be a bit more user-friendly; however, the Bose app is certainly functional and easy enough to navigate and use. In terms of audio adjustment options, the Bose enables users to modify the center channel – something which Sonos lacks.Music Streaming: Music streaming service options in the Bose Music app are very limited as compared to Sonos. However, unlike Sonos, Bose provides Bluetooth support, which more than compensates for the shortcoming in streaming options within the app. While both Bose and Sonos support Apple AirPlay, Bose also includes Chromecast. And although purely subjective, I feel that the Bose 600 beats the Sonos Beam for music listening.Dolby Atmos: Sonos states that it employs “psychoacoustic technology” within the Beam to give the impression of height when the sound source is encoded in Dolby Atmos. That’s a bit of sonic snake oil – I never got any sense of height from the Beam. The Bose 600 includes two upward firing speakers to create a height effect by bouncing sound off the ceiling. While more effective in reproducing Dolby Atmos than the Beam, the Bose 600 still only generates a hint of height – this is a common shortcoming of almost all soundbars, which can’t compete with in-ceiling speakers when playing spatial sound.TrueSpace: I was worried that this proprietary Bose feature might be a deal breaker, especially as it can’t be turned off. However, it seems to create a more expansive and immersive listening experience for most sources. I do like that the technology utilizes the height speakers even when the source isn’t Dolby Atmos. TrueSpace can be a bit hit or miss with music, with the applied technology sometimes resulting in an unintentional ‘remix’ of the original.Dialogue Clarity: With the Sonos Beam, my wife and I both found it challenging to discern dialogue, even with the Speech Enhancement feature engaged (which also adversely impacted the midrange). However, voices are always intelligible through the Bose, and Dialogue Mode further enhances clarity.Auto Shut Off: Several reviewers have complained that the Bose powers off (along with the TV) after some time if not actively in use. That’s due to the ‘Standby Timer’ feature (20 minutes), which may be easily switched off in the Bose Music app settings.Firmware Updates: After approximately three weeks, the Bose app prompted me to install a firmware update, which I started at 11:30 PM and then went to sleep, allowing the process to successfully complete without disrupting normal TV viewing time. Some reviewers have complained about updates getting “stuck” – in reality, the process can take a long time (an hour or longer), so best to conduct that activity overnight.Ecosystem: Unfortunately, this is where Bose falls short. Their subwoofers and surround speakers are overpriced, and the surrounds include AC adaptors that almost as large as the speakers. If Bose were to enable its portable Bluetooth speakers to work as rear surrounds with its soundbars (easily accomplished with existing Simplesync technology), that option would give the company an edge over competitors.Bose and Sonos both specialize in ‘lifestyle audio’ – adequate products for discerning consumers seeking attractive, functional, and wireless equipment. Neither company offers high-end hi-fi components for audiophiles. Furthermore, soundbars are somewhat flawed by design - cramming too many tiny speakers into a small box, and then heavily relying on digital trickery to create a soundstage. Expectations should be suitably adjusted when listening to any soundbar (with or without a subwoofer and surround speakers) versus a proper home theater configuration. While not a fan boy, I do appreciate the warm ‘Bose sound’ and greatly favor the Bose 600 over the Sonos Beam. The Bose 600 sounds bigger than its dimensions would suggest, reproduces dialogue with solid clarity, and generates a bit of spatial sound. It’s decent value for money on sale for $399, but perhaps not worth the full retail price of $499.

[Rewarded Review] You can only hear it at Best Buy

BOSE Sound Bar 900I was looking for a soundbar that would help hear the voices more clearly. I purchased a ZVOX with the hope that it would help, but did not, now I was searching for one that would, but without actually hearing it.The only place to do that is Best-Buy. I visited my town store and they had a multitude of soundbars on display with all having a demo button to listen to. Most were music or action movie scenes that really did not give me a chance to hear what voices sound like.I choose the BOSE for it has a "voice clarity" toggle in the application and I have several other BOSE products that I was thoroughly happy with. I can now hear most dialogue clearly. The only problem I had was linking it to the new SONY TV I purchased a few months ago. I tried all the trouble shooting methods and at a last resort, called the BOSE help line. An actual living person answered that I could understand. She asked me several questions relating to the connections and I had already performed them all. So to make the connection, there is a sequence in plugging the TV and sound bar in. Once I went though that specific sequence the bar fired up and no problems since. Thank you BOSE for that service.Bottom line, pricy, but worth the cost.
