I’ve had the Bose Quiet QC 30 for 3 years before upgrading and it’s a solid headset. The signature Bose noise canceling sound is amazing and you can barely feel collar around your neck because it might. Another awesome thing about these headphones besides the call and sound quality and the lightness of them is the fact that if one side fall out of your ear, you’ll never have to worry about it falling on the ground because of the collar. Unfortunately I sold mine to help pay for my new Bose headphones.

Bose quiet control 30 wireless headphones have excellent sound and comfort. These were one of my first wireless headphones phone I purchased to wear when I started getting more active walking outdoors and wanting to listen to music and be able to talk on my phone and they are so comfortable. What makes these so great is if I take one ear piece out it can still hang there and I won’t lose it and if I want to put it in my ear I have it there. I never have to worry about losing the ear pieces. I really liked these a lot. I haven’t had any other Bose head phones. So I can’t say how the others are. But I do like these.

Audio is fine, but very poor product overall

BEWARE the terrible build quality!
11 June 2020

The quality control on this product is extremely poor. I am currently on my sixth pair of these (previous ones all replaced under warranty). Every single one has broken within 11 months. First 3 were due to the headband peeling apart due to improper gluing. This has since been corrected in this product. The next one had the volume control buttons fall apart despite being gentle at all times. The next one had loud static start in the left ear after 9 months (a well documented issue). This current set that I got a few days ago as a warranty replacement is clearly a refurbished item. When received, it was already paired to someone else's phone (which I had to delete) and the rubber at the bottom of the ear pieces is not tight around the wire, leaving the wire ... MoreThe quality control on this product is extremely poor. This current set that I got a few days ago as a warranty replacement is clearly a refurbished item. When received, it was already paired to someone else's phone (which I had to delete) and the rubber at the bottom of the ear pieces is not tight around the wire, leaving the wire insulation to rub against that rubber piece, causing an annoying noise if I turn my head. To resolve this, I grabbed a small amount of black duct tape, wrapped it upon itself and shoved it up the gap between the wire and the rubber piece. That fixed that. But come on! Surely an item that costs this much can last more than 9 months!I haven't tested the microphone for a few years, but when I last tested it on a call, it was horrible and i had to immediately revert to Apple in-ear headphones (not AirPods). On the plus side, audio quality is excellent and noise cancelling is second to none, as with other Bose headphones. They are easy to use and the neck band tucks in nicely under a business shirt's collar. I would not recommend buying these unless you plan on barely using them (I use them 6+ hours every day), for their poor build quality will surely bite you!Comfort: It takes a while to get used to having the band sitting around your neck, but it is ok. It does tend to move around a bit and you have to straighten it every now and then. Not a big deal.

BOSE needs to remanufacture this 2017 with updated 2023 features
29 May 2023

Biggest reason I only gave these headphones 3 stars: You can't use them while charging!!!!! How ridiculous is that??? I didn't realize that these were manufactured in 2017 so the technology is old. Hey it's 2023. Bose, where's the update to address this? Otherwise, I love the neckband feature and the sound is good so I'm keeping them for lack of a better option. The neckband is so lightweight and comfortable that you almost forget they're on. I really like that I can remove one or both earbuds whenever I need to without having to put them somewhere. I was constantly misplacing my last set if they didn't immediately make it to their charging case. The operating features are easy to use. The app could be better. The charging cord should be longer. The silicone earbud covers are uncomfortable, none of them fit me properly. I've figured out how to float them just above but not inside the ear canal to make them work for me. Maybe this is how they are meant to be seated but I think the noise cancelling feature won't work as intended in an airplane with jet engine noise. I'll find out soon with summer travel plans.

Best BT headphones for sports requiring a helmet
14 September 2021

Although these QC30s are not perfect, they are as close as I can find to the headphones needed for sports where ambient background noise is important to hear. They have great battery life, excellent sound, a small enough ear profile to accommodate a helmet (think skiing), and the ability to boost background sound beyond the nominal level (volume you would get if wearing nothing). So they can be safe if used properly. In addition, because the battery sits around your neck and the earbuds are corded to it, there is no chance to lose them. A full blown independent earbud (think airpod pro) just wont get the job done if the sports involved are somewhat serious. Too easy to lose them, too little battery life, too big a profile in the ear. The negatives: these will wear out - I have not figured out what component it is for sure, but I think its the power plug which takes plenty of wear and tear in charging. The fit around the neck is also not perfect, and you find yourself righting the way it sits over and over. Unfortunately, Bose is done selling these or their even better big brother (the hearphones). So get them on the used market while you can.

Quality, durability, well worth the investment!
12 May 2020

My husband bought these for me as a gift in late 2017, and I have worn them at least 3/7 days weekly, sometimes for stretches of 2-4 hours as I draft legal and technical documents, and/or write database queries or code, all as functions of my professional role. They have traveled with me internationally and for simple car rides, and continue to provide the gift that keeps on giving. Having tried other noise-reduction headphones, I was skeptical about making the financial investment for this product (and have a strange habit of returning my husbands' gifts as too extravagant in the past....). When I tried these, however, I was instantly impressed and never looked back. They work so well that if the noise reduction function is turned to near-max or max setting, I cannot hear myself speak or chew, literally transforming your sensory perception of all external noises. The first week or so I would actually become nauseaus when I would use these, but received a valuable tip to play either music or calming background noises through the headphones (which works like a charm for several apps I use daily that sych nicely with my Bose headphones) in order to balance the effects while still blocking out office, human, animal or other outside equipment noises in the environment. I have also used these comfortably to sleep at night, and found them comfortable. Finally, the inclusion of at least two sets of new rubber earbuds allows my husband to enjoy them as a treat once in a while too, but only if I agree to remove them from my neck first. Could write a 10 page review attesting to the value and quality of this device. If you are interested, and on the fence, I encourage you to do it!

Tremendous quality for a reasonable price
24 February 2024

I now have 5 of these. I started buying them 8 years ago when they first came out as BOSE Hearphones. I know people that use these as hearing aids, even though they are a bit bulky. Tremendous sound quality and being able to control volume and tone is the best past. The problem is; they don't last forever. I have found a few places that will resurrect them and fortunately prices are much lower than the original $500 model.

Thankfully, the wait wasn’t too long, Bose, my number one go to brand in audio equipment, started shipping out their version of Bluetooth wireless headphone, but after weeks of using either the over the ear or the in ear sport version headphones, I must say each has its pros and cons, especially the InEar sport headphone, sounds are just great, but not impressive, without the noise canceling functions on the headphone, I am just not getting the full audio enjoyment I would like to have, especially getting through the busy and noisy street of New York City. After months of waiting and annoyance using the adaptor, Bose has finally release their version of the InEar Noise Canceling headphones, my wait and frustration has finally comes to an end, and here are some of the highlight features the Bose QuietControl 30 Headphones has to offer. 1. Bluetooth wireless radio with Near Field communication. 2. Adjustable noise canceling. 3. Full immersive audio experience when the noise canceling level is set at max. 4. Excellent voice pickup while in use as a hands free head set. 5. Hours of comfortable light weight and stable in ear head phones wear design. Now, after a week long intensive use of this Bose QuietControl 30 headphones, as expected Bose once again raise the standard, when it comes to audio experience. First off if you are fan of the Bose you might notice the name change from the old Quiet and Comfortable headphone to the new Quiet and Control. Yes as the name implied, this headphone is very key on the idea of how much sound you like to hear from your environment, the adjustable range starts from letting in all the sound in your environment to the near no noise level, gives you the very isolated and immersive listening environment. In my experience, while I am enjoying this fully immersive audio experience, I hardly notice the noise made by that good old canister vacuum cleaner in operation, believe me those old vacuum cleaner they are not just loud, they are really loud, but on the other side, while I am traveling, I can easily dial down that noise canceling level, and be more aware of the traffic and my surroundings, including the train car announcement, and finally I found it especially useful at the airport, where I finally can hear lot more of the announcement while listening to my headphones, as long as I keep the volume at a moderate levels. In comparison the Bose QC30 with other Quiet Comfort headphones, the degree of noise canceling and audio fidelity are much better then any one the OnEar headphones design, plus it is much “comfortable” for long wear, since you are no longer placing the two bulky speaker-unit over the ears. Furthermore if you were to compare it with the InEar QC20 wired headphone, it is definitely give you the mobility, and not been tie down by the cord. Like I mention at the beginning of this review, if you are happen to be like me, got an mobile devices just no longer offering the standard headphone jack on the device, you will be really happy this headphone its Bluetooth ability. Speaking of Bluetooth, with its multiple devices connection capability, I found it very easy pairing it to my mobile device, even after repetitively turning it on and off, it always reconnect to it on the fly. The Bose QC30 with awesome audio experience, complete control of the noise canceling level, and a quick and easy Bluetooth connection, all of these great features, if there wasn’t a real smart apps manage it, we sure will have our hands full. Luckily Bose introduce the Bose Connect apps, which you can download for free from the Apple apps store or Goggle Play, it offers effortless control over all the functions the headphones has to offer, it even included a very intuitive noise canceling level adjustment interface and a power level indicator that shows you the amount of power remain on the headphone, heck it even bring up the default media players as soon as the mobile device is pair with the headphones, ready to play your favorite tune instantly. So the Bose QuietControl 30 are full of awesome features, what is not to love? I will say not many except the price and the look of the headphones, when it is comparing to other brands who offers the similar features, the price of QC30 are indeed on a bit of the high end, also wearing a big round black collar around my neck, I think it just plain ugly and awkward. Conclusion: The Bose QuietControl 30 does offers absolute the best in sound experience, immersive experience and controls, the in ear ear bud design are so comfortable and stay in place, you practically can wear it all day long with out any fatigue and finally the price is indeed slightly higher then competitors, but there are no brands out there can offer such complete features and audio experience like the Bose QuiteControl 30 has to offer.
