But I just had a feeling that I just needed to keep wearing them in order for them to feel comfortable and they feel great now! I even forget that I have them in when Iām asleep! They have so many sounds included on the app itās really cool! One review I read said something that I definitely agree with and will reiterate: it takes some time to find the sound(s) that works for you. For me, my sound is Sand. It sounds like a much calmer, less stacticy version of white noise. Also the Island Hop is nice, but it needs to be a little louder in order to be effective. You just have to keep playing around with the sounds, removing and adding as needed before you find a sound for yourself. After I take a sleeping pill, and put the sleepbuds in, Iām out like a light. I havenāt had good sleep like this in years. The sleeping pill I only take when I have work the night before, but when I just use the sleep buds on my day off, I still have a great night sleep. Without them, Iām woken up by every little thing as Iām a very, very light sleeper. It knocks out the sound of my manās snoring, outside traffic, and the dogs that sleep in my room. When I do wake up throughout the night, the bose lulls me back to sleep in no time at all. There are a couple cons to take into consideration.1- sometimes when the sleepbuds are put in the case, you will think they are charging but they are not. There have been a few instances where I put them in and heard them click, but they were not charging. They have to click and light up in order for them to charge. So maybe thatās a user error, but something to keep in mind.2- the adjustment period for me was about two-three weeks of trial and error between getting use to the pain of the buds being in my ears and finding the right sound.Pros:1- wide variety of sounds!! so many different sounds that act as sleep aides itās really cool.2- long lasting battery life. when charged properly, they last all night and then some. I only charge the case twice a week3- right sound= true noise cancellation. a person literally robbed my apartment a few nights ago and because I had these in, I didnāt even hear my dog bark to warn me of the intruder. So noise canceling for sureAll in all, solid purchase and would definitely recommend. I have to buy a pair for my boyfriend as well so he can also experience this bliss.

I bought these to replace some wired noise-cancelling earbuds that I had been using to mask snoring sounds from my partner using a 'sleep sounds' app on my phone. This had been effective, but I wanted a wireless solution instead, as my wired earbuds were inconvenient and too large for side-sleeping.I had found that even with my previous noise-cancelling headphones, my partner's snoring wasn't totally silenced, and a 'sleep sounds' app on my phone was required to mask the remaining snoring sounds. So I was confident that the Bose claims that 'masking' was more effective than noise-cancelling made sense. The Sleepbuds are every bit as effective at masking the snoring as my previous noise-cancelling headphones. They are very comfortable, and the small size means that side-sleeping isn't a problem - I just don't notice them physically when they're in my ears. I use the 'Rumble' sound, as it has a combination of higher and lower pitched sounds that I find especially effective at masking my partner's snoring - but there's a good range of sounds to pick from.I only use the Sleepbuds when my partner's snoring is disruptive, so when I go to bed I take them out of the charge case and put them on my bedside table, then start the 'Rumble' sound via the app - then they're ready for me to pop into my ears if my partner starts snoring. The only way they could be better would be if I could take them out of the charge case (in the middle of the night) and have them start up with the correct sound automatically, rather than having to manually start the sound on my phone. However, the workaround of setting them up on my bedside table when I go to bed is fine.Altogether I'm very pleased.

It will do the job for ambient noise less than 60db, i think.

Love the idea, and the system works very well to create an effective sound bubble which masks out all but the loudest of sounds while sleeping. However, a couple of downsides prevent me from recommending these. My comments:Earbuds/Comfort. The earbuds are extremely comfortable and very light! I am a side-sleeper and, for me, these earbuds are just not comfortable for an entire night. Every night Iāve used them, I have had to take them out in the middle of the night or face pretty sore ears by morning. For me, the earbuds need to be made more comfortable for us side-sleepers. I also think the all-night comfort might be dependent on the shape of individual usersā ears. I did try all of the ear tips, trying to get the perfect fit.Batteries. I also think the all-night comfort might be dependent on the shape of individual usersā ears. I did try all of the ear tips, trying to get the perfect fit.Batteries. I was surprised to see that the batteries in the earbuds themselves are NiMH, not lithium ion. NiMH is, in my view, an āoldā battery technology which also carries with it some of the old battery technology negatives ā e.g., memory effect and high self-discharge. The battery in the recharging case is Li-ion, but if you unplug the case, youāll lose all charge over just a few days (perhaps due to the high self-discharge rate of the NiMH earbuds). Not great if you plan to travel with these earbuds (bring the charging cable and charge daily).Pre-set Sounds: I very much appreciate that Bose created this system to allow the earbuds to not require a live Bluetooth or network connection to the phone during the night. The sounds that are preloaded or downloadable to the earbuds are sufficient. However, I would love to see Bose upload periodic new sounds/music periodically (quarterly?); I have not seen any new updates. Some of the sounds are just not usable, in my opinion. If Bose will fix these issues (version 3?), I believe this could be quite an elegant solution. Until then, Iām returning these until a better system is available.
Got these recently because I have new apartment neighbors that like their tv blasting at 3am. Have wore them every night for a few months now and they have saved my sanity!! Give them a few times before you say you donāt like them! They definitely take some getting used to at first. I tell everyone about these and donāt go to sleep without them now. Some mornings one ear will be sore because my pillow is pretty firm and I tend to sleep on one ear majority of the night. They are tiny so the first night I didnāt put them in correctly and I woke up with one missing. It was on my blanket and I sent it flying across the room when I shook my blanket lol! I bought mine directly from Bose refurbished and I would definitely buy another pair! I bought mine directly from Bose refurbished and I would definitely buy another pair! I do wish I could use my own sounds but my fav sound from the library is the Warm Static. I donāt hear ANYTHING depending on the volume I set it at for the night. I also use the alarm function and it wakes me up every time. The buds will also chime when you get a phone call. You are able to turn this off in the app if you prefer. I saw another reviewer state the charging problem. Yes, you have to make sure each bud lights up when you place it in the case. Just because the magnet connects doesnāt always mean itās charging. I have had the displeasure of having one dead bud when it was bedtime and thatās not fun. The charge does last all night and I leave my case plugged in. You wonāt be disappointed!

But I was super surprised to learn that I couldnt listen to my own music library, audio books, podcasts as you can with virtually every other ear bud on the planet. You are effectively constrained to the propriety lobby of audio files the have available in their propriety app - mostly environmental sound scapes you would expect from sleep inducing audio files very similar to Rain or related files on ITunes, Spotify, etc. My big question is WHY? Why would you put such a limitation on a very pricy set of ear buds. Why make it essentially a one trick pony? As for the one trick it does do - blocking out ambient noise with its inherent noise reduction technology, it seems to do just fine. I cant really hear my snoring wife or snoring dog. The big problem for me was the fit of the actual buds in my ears. I loved the idea of buds you can sleep wearing, but these buds created pressure points that had my ears aching when I woke up in the morning. Im sure this was not helped bythe fact that I am a side sleeper so my ear (and thus the bud) is pressing into my ear. As for the sound itself? Nothing special, but then, it hard to tell when you can only play sound files as opposed to music. I really wanted to love this product, given the limitations mention above, it is a huge swing and a miss. I would be even more unhappy if I had paid the full whopping price at $250 (I paid less than half that for a factory refurbished set). So if you are a back sleeper who just wants to block ambient noise with sleep sounds maybe they will work for you. But for me, they are over priced for an under-functioning hamstrung one trick pony.
Earbuds work fine but with light use twice a week and no travel, the case broke and stopped taking a charge about three months past warranty. This is really poor form for a product that was well taken care of and used on average twice a week. There are so many better solutions. Sell me a case. Offer to fix the case--I'll pay for it. Or just fix/replace a product that shouldn't have broken. But don't offer me a "special deal" for refurb'd product that is more expensive than the standard refurb price. Poor form.In terms of the product itself, the positive: earbuds are comfortable. For me they are easy to sleep with but fall out occasionally. I understand why but it's too bad, you can't upload your own tracks for sleep. There is a decent selection but wish they would continue to develop their selection. To my ears, some of the sounds of water and rain are overly articulated in a way that doesn't promote sleep.
I was a bit apprehensive about purchasing these as they are pricey and there are a lot of mixed reviews out there. However, I'm happy to say they work brilliantly for me. They are easy to set up and use, comfortable enough to sleep with, and the available sounds, while limited, are fine for what I need, which is something to mask the noises around me at night so I can fall asleep and stay asleep. And they do that surprisingly well, even on a pretty low volume setting.I would say though, that they are not for everyone. None of which bothers me, but I get why others aren't impressed by those limitations, especially if they like to fall asleep to podcasts or white noise on YouTube. Also, for people not used to sleeping with ear plugs or in ear headphones, I think these would take a lot of getting used to and are maybe not a good first choice to get you started. The Sleepbuds are a big step up from other things I have used over the years and are absolutely superior to them all in my opinion. But I can see others finding them uncomfortable and bulky if they are used to having nothing in their ears normally. I would advise people to be patient and get used to something else first before trying these. That said, for me they do exactly what they promise to do and I'm very glad I took the plunge.
This product is very well engineered and made. I was a bit skeptical as to how well they would work at blocking out noise.First let me say that the comfort level is very high. Compared to foam earplugs these are infinitely more comfortable and is very close to feeling like youāre not wearing any earplugs at all.The quality of the earplugs are very well made and it seems like a LOT of thought has gone in to the end user experience. For sound blocking, without turning on the noise masking sounds, they feel to be somewhere around 60% as effective as traditional foam earplugs. To experience it fully, the noise masking sounds have to be turned on.This was a concern for me, as I prefer dead silence when I am asleep (or trying to fall asleep) as opposed to sounds. In saying this, I tried a few of the sounds and settled on āsandā at around 40% volume which was a lovely white noise that didnāt feel like I was listening to a āsoundā.My sleep experience with this was comparable to foam earplugs minus the slightly sore ears and foam earplugs falling out in the middle of the night. All in all I am extremely happy with them and they are better than I was expecting them to be.On the other hand, I would absolutely love to see a new version with active noise cancelling technology to experience dead silence at a level close to foam earplugs. If Bose could pull that off I would be buying them in a heartbeat! For now though, the sleepbuds 2 are an excellent choice and definitely do the trick.
