My setup includes the Bose 700 soundbar, a Bose 700 subwoofer and Bose surround speakers. The sound quality is brilliant with a rich sound field and good channel separation. The system can be played at extreme volumes with little or no distortion. The initial set-up takes a little time and patience but the results are well worth the effort. The ADAPTiQ calibration system produces a finely-tuned sound experience but falls short in the calibration of the surround speakers, rendering them a little quiet for some room configurations. I was able to remedy this by placing a towel over the surrounds when running ADAPTiQ so that they would render louder volume once the calibration was completed.A big plus in my view, is a soundbar remote with universal capabilities. ... MoreMy setup includes the Bose 700 soundbar, a Bose 700 subwoofer and Bose surround speakers. Being backlit, it can be used in low-light conditions and only shows the necessary buttons for the device selected. It works well on all the devices I use including a Sony Blu-ray player and AppleTV.Where the system falls short is that it does not provide presets for sound equalization. Ideally, it would have at least a few of these, (i.e. for movies and music genres). Equalization can be controlled using the Bose App but there is no means of saving custom settings on either the app or on the remote. This needs to be addressed by Bose engineering because as things stand now two remotes are required to fully control the system. That is, a remote to select and control input devices and a phone app to control the equalization settings (with no way to save them). This really runs counter to those with âminimalistâ tendencies.Despite the short comings noted above, this system provides a very rich and high quality listening experience that does not disappoint.

Very reliable. Both Bose 700 & 900 - The only difference would be the Height channel in the 900 providing more upward range in Large rooms. Few User Tips: If you have trouble pairing the blue tooth connection just toggle the Left Right switch on the surround sound speaker power supply. You will only have to do it once and every thing will work great. Also, if you hear a pop noise from the Sub woofer there is probably an electronic, creating interface with the Bluetooth connection. I had an eco dot in between the Sub & Soundbar I ended up moving to another part of the room to fix the connection. Also, if you have an old router or poor internet connection you will want to upgrade.I have the 900 down stairs and the 700 in the Master with the sub surround speakers. ... MoreVery reliable. I can tell the algorithms continue to update the programming code, but itâs going to take them some time. Lastly Alexa integration is outstanding. Unfortunately I havenât found a way to change to command word on the sound bar, but it is what it is.If you want a whole house system with no wires and the ability to control everything by voice or with your phone simply, the Bose system never disappoints! Itâs been a constant battle to keeps this poorly made system up and running. The soundbar will not work independently from the remote, so if the wondrous Bose answer to controlling the bar is on the fritz, you canât do a thing about it. Your Bose app is worthless with out their remote that constantly has to be re-paired several times a year. I have the Lifestyle V35 and itâs been great so I thought let me go all in on this set up. I bought the Bass, and surround speakers. The bass tends to vibrate at random times, distorting the sound, and youâll need your Apple airbuds to hear the expensive and substandard sound, if any, from the so called surround speakers. I feel so ripped off.

I'm an older person. I wear hearing aids. I purchased a Bose Lifestyle V25 quite a # of years ago. When watching movies, I could hear the movie, but I could not make out what the actors were saying. No voice clarity. So, I bought the Bose 700 sound bar to see if it would help with clarity of the actors. I started a movie listening to it on my Lifestyle V25. Had problem with clarity of actor's word. I turned the audio down on my Lifestyle V25 and turned the Bose 700 sound bar on. I could make out what the actors in movie were saying. All though there are regular programs that I hear better using our Bose Lifestyle V25. So, I will not be getting rid of it. The set up of the Bose 700 sound bar was not easy for me. I bought the Bose Soundbar 700 and Bose Base Module 700 from Harvey Norman Chirnside Park, and I was not disappointed. I have other Bose personal audio items (headphones etc) already, so I already knew what their sound quality was like. I had also completed some research on Google previously, and when I went to the store, Tyler was kind enough to demonstrate other brands for me so that I had a good comparison. There were other brands and models with slightly more features in the bar, or more speakers, but these seemed to me like overkill. All I wanted was a stylish, simple, with excellent build quality, but powerful soundbar that put out amazing sound.Seems kind of simple right? All I wanted was a stylish, simple, with excellent build quality, but powerful soundbar that put out amazing sound.Seems kind of simple right? So I kept to my initial selection, and got the Bose. The setup for the system wasn't a simple plug a play, and it took some time to complete after the Soundbar completed its own firmware update (at least 15 minutes), however all good things come to those who are patient, and since I wanted to make sure all the settings were perfect, I took my time.Finding / connecting the Soundbar to the Base module via the Bose app was a breeze, however it wasn't until I completed the calibration and could start playing with the specific settings of the Soundbar and Base module (via the app) that we truly appreciated its power, clarity and depth when combined with the Base module. Tested it out watching Pirates of the Caribbean, and it was amazing.Lastly, Bose don't really promote this, but with the Soundbar 700 comes a fantastic universal remote! It takes over for all your other items, TV, Foxtel box, DVD player etc. Absolutely amazing. Not only did I get rid of my bulky old speaker setup, but I was able to swap 4 remotes for 1!I love, love, love this system, and can't recommend it enough to anyone looking for a soundbar. Its pricey, but worth it!
Clarity, range, volume, depth, environmental sounds. I couldnât believe my ears. From simply watching news to the most complex sci-fi battle scenes, this soundbar hits every high, mid, and low and youâll wonder if your faucet is dripping in the other room because the environmental sounds are so vivid. The volume will impress even without a subwoofer. But truth be told, I only ever dreamed of sound so clean. The ADAPTiQ technology very obviously works because the room I have this in is pretty small but has high ceilings. And on occasion youâll be immersed in background sounds of cracking fire or trickling water and itâs almost so real youâll wonder if you have plumbing problems. Amazing. Blown away everyday. Throw on some music through your smart TV?! Forget about ... MoreClarity, range, volume, depth, environmental sounds. I couldnât believe my ears. Bose has done it again with the Soundbar 700, the unit produces an incredible immersive experience in a very small package; I mention that because I have had a competing product start with âKâ that was a behemoth in comparison. The remote is interesting, I am on the fence on this one; on one hand is very neat, clean and sleek but it can be sometimes hard to quickly read. They have a sensor type of technology that only lights up when the remote is pressed or moved and so far it only lights the buttons that have a use based on what is set up for the system. I am not sure but think it will grow on me in time as it does compliment the cutting edge design and features of the system.I tested the Soundbar using Marvel Avengers: Infinity War, it was as realistic as sitting in the theater with every thunderous boom and background sounds separated for the 360 degree listening experience. I will tell you though, that you need to take your time and properly setup/tune the system beforehand. I also want to be completely honest about the instructions, not the clearest ones I have seen but the saving grace is the smartphone app; it makes the setup very simple and logically steps you through the whole process of tuning. The tuning utilizes the ADAPTiQ headset (more of a headband device), this plugs into the back of the Soundbar to a dedicated port and will guide through moving around the room in various spots and it will then custom tune the system to match the acoustics of the room; this is a pretty incredible piece of technology and worked excellent for me. I also want to point out if you have the surround speakers or subwoofer, make sure they are setup prior or you will have to run the ADAPTiQ setup again after you install them, trust me is well worth it to go through the setup process. There are also numerous YouTube videos available on the setup if you get stuck and they are very informative.I did as a test, just set up the Soundbar and no further tuning, while it did work and sounded very good right out of the box, the ADAPTiQ feature brings the system to whole new level of sound reproduction. I will sum up my experience with the Soundbar 700, while it is not âplug-n-playâ in a sense, taking the time the properly setup the system makes a huge difference in the overall performance. I would highly recommend this to anyone because the bang for the buck far exceeded my expectations and left my previous âKâ brand in the dust. Now on to the included Amazon Alexa, this is a nice to have feature in any system; personally I use Alexa daily for various things from checking the weather to playing music. The ability to have your complete Prime library at your fingertips and seamlessly integrated is a very nice extra to the complete package that Bose offers. The final summary is the Soundbar 700 produces a highly realistic theater experience, very immersive sound with the ability to fine tune for the specific layout of rooms, in a space saving package.
Note, the flaws are not necessarily Bose but unfortunately the flaws manifest themselves as poor sound quality. These flaws have caused me to hold off purchasing the 2 additional surround sound speakers. I have the Surround 700 And the Bass Module 700. The sound is exceptional (as you would expect from a Bose product). Unfortunately, using the Bass Module in wireless mode implements a BlueTooth interface. Unfortunate this spectrum is shared with the 802.11b/g/n family of WiFi. Therefore interference is inevitable, the question is, how bad. My bass module is within 4 ft of the sound bar which is not stretching the limits of BlueTooth. But in the wild Wild West of wireless, WiFi and BT are everywhere. My bass module is within 4 ft of the sound bar which is not stretching the limits of BlueTooth. But in the wild Wild West of wireless, WiFi and BT are everywhere. The suggestion of âturning things offâ is next to impossible in this world we live in. Hard working via a 3.5mm audio cable between sound bar and bass is the assures method of minimizing interference. Given that, it begs the question if the two additional speakers that can be hooked up to the system (2 surround sound speakers) would suffer from the same problems. Given this and the cost of the speakers it doesnât seem worth the risk of purchasing. This is too bad since every Bose product has exemplary sound quality (I have Bose Connect products and Bose cancelling headphones as well). I am rating this as a 4 rather than a 5. An additional flaw, again not necessarily a Bose design flaw is CEC interface. It is a great way to collapse the number of remotes required for ânormalâ operation but as discussed in Bose Comment threads, CEC appears to be a non-standard standard. Meaning sometimes TV seems to not have control when turning it on. Again, another reason to score as a 4 rather than a 5.

I also bought the surround Speakers and the bass module that make a great difference if you are looking for a surround system..- Compatibility: I have a Sony TV, Sony PS4, and Apple TV4k - in perfect harmony with a single remote (can use only the BOSE, only sonyTV or Apple TV remotes any time) basically thanks to the market I have Alexa,Siri and Google assistant in my living room + other vendor wireless speakers at home that also can play music with this system thanks to Alexa and Apple compatibility and their multi-room integration..- you can group other Bose Wireless speakers (not my case now maybe in the future)Cons:.- NO DOLBYATMOS compatibility - and Bose do not confirm if this will be available soon - I tough to take out one star only for this but in my case all the surround that I was looking for is covered for the space and budget I have with this SB 700 system..- Bose Remote is solid and lets say looks amazing - also integrate full functions (no mic- unless you only want to talk to Alexa trough the sound bar -so I can not say "universal integration") and in my opinion so big - If you still need a lot of buttons and functions it is for you since offer a full integration with other legacy systems but in my case I prefer to manage my TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime and entertainment services with my Apple TV remote or my SonyTV touch Control that works perfect and are small: volume control and touch panel + both have voice control. (Siri and Google assistant).- in my case I control all my music and most of the content from the Apple TV, iPads or iPhones - Any time that you go out like "Alexa play some music" the system goes to Amazon Music, or Pandora and works great! but in my case I look for iTunes to play and do it from my Apple TV or Airplay - so only down I found is that when the system switch to Music it changes the input and you will need to back to the Bose remote and switch back to the input you are working and unfortunately this function is not available on the Bose APP - hope they work soon in an upgrade and offer full functionalities from there. I probably do a review only for the app.Botton line if you are looking for a full surround 7.x or 10.x system and have room for big speakers then a Soundbar is not for you go and look for a HT - but if you are looking for wireless easy setup and an Amazing virtual surround Soundbar and can survive occasionally switching your remotes until Bose do a SW update.. this is the best you can get in the market now.
