Can't Pair w/o their Poorly Rated Bose App
10 December 2022NOYB

Bought 2 speakers on sale and can only pair the two thru the Bose poorly rated app. All app reviews clearly state after trying to pair 2 speakers, each speaker quits working. All Bose products are exorbitantly priced and a total rip-off. They should make it simple and easy to pair two of their same speakers w/o having to download their crap app w/poor reviews. Go ahead and download it. It will ruin your ability to use even ONE speaker. Waste of overpriced money. Total joke. Never again.

I purchased this to augment one of those nostalgic phono players, so mine is always plugged in but my battery light starts blinking after one album, so either mine is defective or the battery life on this isn't as awesome as I was expecting after seeing the reviews. As far as the sound quality, it has the classic rich, full sound of Bose and it is about a billion times better than the classic internal speakers that come with these all in one units but it isn't a party speaker and the bass is consistent with a pool side, personal speaker.Since mine is augmenting the less impressive speakers in my unit, I'm getting full stereo. The Bose fills in the tinny emptiness that the cheaper speakers have and, quite frankly, my little nostalgic player sounds like its hooked up to my main sound system. Lots of depth, gets loud enough to inhibit conversation in the same room and no blur or crackle. The only give away is that the bass is a little weak. This speaker has a single input port so you can hardwire it. It's just the 3.5 mm jack but that's why I chose this unit, it will directly hook up to units that don't have a bluetooth out capability. It's super compact, so it hides away well if you are using it like I am and don't like the look of shelves or walls filled with speakers.Overall, I'm really happy with it. The directions are really awful. If you are using the line in, you have to switch the mode and the mode button is between the power button and the - (volume down) button. You just click it quickly and it will light up. Once you choose that mode, if you turn it off in that mode, when you turn it back on, it's still in that mode. You are better off using your gut to figure it out than using the really crummy instructions.Overall, good speaker, compact, delivers a reasonable volume with Bose depth. I have no regrets but, even in Bose world, you get what you pay for. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars in this price range is because the battery life doesn't impress me.

Great sound - Poor charging ability

Out of the box was a perfect experience. The speaker worked as promised with excellent sound. The problem started with recharging. It took 30 minutes for the speaker to accept my charging attempts. The unit would not power on or indicate charging regardless to what I tried. Finally viewed a YouTube video explaining the unit goes into standby and you have to hold down the power button for 10-15 seconds and then connect to wall charger or computer usb. Finally after numerous tries, the amber light came on indicating “charging”. Needless to say, that was an inconvenience that would discourage me from purchasing this speaker again.

Great sound, horrible battery
14 July 2022

The sound for this was really truly great. But now then I let the battery completely lose charge and now it won't charge at all. I've tried the instructions on the Bose site and I've tried every suggestion on Reddit, YouTube, and any other site I could find. I got the red light to show up exactly once and never again. The amount of people that I found with this issue was staggering and the fact that this is still getting sold is crazy. I'm just out of 1-year warranty and would rather buy a new one than get this replaced, even before this the battery life was horrid and it would drain while it was off and doing nothing.Word of advice, if you do buy this and get *any* battery issues at all just return it. It will only get worse.

Hope you like playing connection whack-a-mole.
14 January 2022

Absolute garbage. Won't hold a charge. Which means they have to be pugged in all the time. Kinda defeats the purpose. They even shut off while plugged in.I have 2 of these to play in stereo. Getting them to connect and stay connected is like playing whack-a-mole. I get one connected then while trying to connect to the other, the first one disconnects or just turns off completely. Try again and the second one disconnects or shuts off.On the "upside", after 10 minutes or so of that nonsense, when they are finally both connected the sound is... not terrible.I have owned one other bose product, a pair of true wireless earbuds. One completely died and was falling apart in less than a year.Worst wireless products I have ever owned.

My first Bose speaker
8 February 2022

Well, at least it came with an aux cable - as my PC suggested some hissing sounds (why I returned a well reviewed different brand speaker on sale, it had an aux outlet, no cable included and I needed to try a new one). The pros is the size and the battery life. The cons are relevant to my work, I needed a PC speaker with good voice quality and for watching videos , the Bose every time I leave the speaker, I have to manually push the initial start button - not sure how to get it out of hibernate but it's the speaker not my PC. Also, the bass is bass 'always' aparently, not sure why bass is so appealing when adverts say it's a good feature, it gets muted at times, have to raise the volume. I don't plan to use it portable, it's a bit heavy for that in consideration of the wifi.

Sounds Good Almost Great
10 December 2022

The sound quality is exactly what I expected from a Bose speaker. It lives up to the Bose name. I read a review that suggested this speaker be put near a wall to get richer base quality and they were right. Sounds just as good in an open room or space. The overall sound is sufficient for a speaker this size. Battery can go almost 3 days without charging with moderate streaming. Overall I’d give this speaker an 8 out of 10. The app is just ok and lacks equalizer control which I think would make this speaker perfect if you could adjust different elements of the sound to your personal taste.

I love this speaker!! It has amazing sound when playing music. The only thing Im not real pleased with the sound when it talks to tell you, such as connected to IPhone or whatever. That seems blurry to me. I am a little hard of hearing, so maybe just me. The song playing is awesome though, so thats minor!! When playing my music its absolutely awesome!! I had one before this and I think the battery went dead. Not sure if that can be fixed. It was the first one to come out I believe!! I feel like it had better sound with the voice. Overall, Im loving it!! My old one lasted for years and Im sure this one will too!! I took a couple pics so you can compare size to my old one. Yes, yes, yes! The sound is amazing; perfectly balanced. I have listened to other speakers people had & loved. I bought a Bose. One of the few companies that actually continually deliver a superb product. Bose delivers decade after decade. One of the few companies where pride in every step of device, every hand that touched it was proud. My husband is a musician and very fussy when it comes to sound; I just know what I like with no music abilities or training. I plugged this in in kitchen & he came downstairs to listen. He won't listen to his speaker anymore; the sound is the best. Bose continues to deliver. As for durability this product I just recently purchased. Underwhelming
20 November 2022

Purchased this based on the good reviews. Unit was easily connected to my Sonos Arc and was up and running in about 5 minutes. Ran through some music and could barely hear any base. I got up and placed my hand through the opening to see if it was working. Sure enough the speaker was vibrating. That being said, it's working as intended I suppose. I was just expecting more for the price. After owning Klipsch and Samsung sound bar/sub combos, I would put the value of this at around $250.00. I'm my opinion it's grossly overpriced. I'll keep it for a couple of weeks, see how it sounds with movies. If I don't get the "bass for my buck" it's going back.
