Easily the best balance of sound quality, dynamic range and volume that can be found in such a portable package. Build quality is solid enough to absorb being bounced around all day on an ATV and so far has proven stable pulling 10 hour daily shifts out in Mojave Desert summer and winter temp extremes. (23F-118F). When the dust gets too much, literally just put the Flex under a faucet and wipe it down!Keep the volume around 50% and getting 8-10 hours of play is doable, For longer shifts and higher volumes I simply plug in the speaker to charge while playing. (A small 38WH power bank will charge the Bose Flex twice over.)Bluetooth connectivity is solid to about 30' tied to a Samsung Galaxy Z4 Flip and clear line of sight. Occasionally the Bluetooth will start "hiccuping" where the sound will drop for about a second out of every 20-30 seconds but turning Bluetooth off and on has solved the problem each time.Overall a solid buy.

I bought the original Bose Sound Link a few years ago and loved it from the start. I have never had any issues with it, and it still sounds amazing! When I saw this one as the Today's special, and listened for a while, all about it being the "update", etc., I figured why not, I could use it with my computer, and keep the original for my music. I just received it, and something is NOT right. My original sounds WAY better! Bose is second to NONE when it comes to the Bass and lows, but this speaker is TOO much Bass, and no highs! It barely has a middle; it is nothing like my original which has it ALL!!! It is not balanced, you cannot balance it, and I don't like that. Another disappointing thing is that at NO TIME during the presentation was it mentioned that you had to download the Bose App to link to the speaker, they claim for "updates", etc. They also said if you don't link it up to the App, it would be on you if you missed the updates and would have to figure out how to do it yourself. Why was this not mentioned? I would NOT have purchased it, who has time for all that? Also, they have NO instructions included on what the buttons are on top of the speaker, not even a diagram, nothing! If I hadn't seen the presenter go through this, I wouldn't have known what the heck was going on, and it would have been trial by fire! As much as these speakers cost, Bose should be ashamed. I have never seen a product that didn't include instructions on what was what! It has 3 steps for you, and that is IT! They advise you to register the product and ask you to put the serial number down, but you can't even SEE it, especially on the Black! They did a poor job with this. I am just happy my original is still working, and I'm pretty much done with Bose. A few years ago, I had bought wired Bose computer speakers because my laptop then didn't have blue tooth. They sounded AWFUL!!! Same thing, too much of the lows and NO highs and the sound is MURKY! I guess with them it's a hit or miss. Well, they just "missed" out on me ever making another purchase. Honestly, I HAVE heard better speakers. I have also learned my lesson.

The overall sound quality is quite good. I chose after rejecting a couple of other products. The range of reproduction is more important to me than volume, and most especially, the focus on bass. I still think this is too bass heavy. The control buttons could be more distinct. I'm not sure why they have been designed to so difficult to find. I'd like to have a simple equalizer choice... perhaps 4 modes... why not? It would be so much better product. Too much emphasis on waterproofing... can't Bose make a product that isn't necessarily meant to be dumped in the pool during an out of control party? The charging is much better than expected or discussed elsewhere. Uusally 2 hours, not 4. Very happy. What isn't tolerable is the choice to use a voice-based battery ... MoreThe overall sound quality is quite good. I chose after rejecting a couple of other products. I have a turntable in my home that I prefer to connect to a Bluetooth speaker so that I can move the speaker with me wherever I go @ home. That being said, I didnât want anything to big and bulky but that has excellent sound quality. This little BOSE speaker checks all the boxes for me. Sound quality is amazing for its size. It has very nice and filling bass while pushing clear highs and clean mids. I really like this speaker. It sounds bigger/louder than it looks. It has great range, so I can move it around the whole place and never lose connection. Itâs dust and weather resistant, so I also bring it out onto the balcony with us so we can enjoy our records. Battery life is very good. Only need to charge it about once a week if I use it everyday. I bought this a few weeks ago and I am AMAZED. I've had a vehicle with Bose speakers, and a Sounddock and that's about the extent of my experience with Bose. The car, and Sounddock both sounded amazing and I really wanted to try their portable speaker. It did NOT disappoint. I am now a Bose customer for life, as long as the quality is this great! I cannot believe the sound that comes out of this little speaker. It has some heft to it, which just makes it feel premium. It feels solid and well built. Play time of around 12 hours is accurate at a little over half volume. I also appreciate the USB C charging port so I don't have to carry around a proprietary charger.I enjoyed it enough that I bought a second one so I can enjoy them in stereo mode!My only concern ... MoreI bought this a few weeks ago and I am AMAZED. After sitting 3 days from being left fully charged, it'll be down to about 70% so it seems like it loses 10% each day it sits. Very odd. The other speaker is about the same, but not as bad. This is the only reason I'm rating it 4 stars, and not 5, because it really is an amazing speaker, but the discharge could be disappointing if you're expecting it to be fully charged and it isn't! If this is some sort of battery protection system to enable the battery to last longer, then I apologize and will redact my statement. I'm not sure.
I bought the Bose Flex to have a portable speaker to use when practicing with musicians, traveling and other instances where my phone just wasn't loud enough. It also serves as a computer speaker when I'm on my laptop. The unit is small, sleek and can rest on any surface. It also has a small strap if you wish to hang it. The design is minimal with curved edges and five button interface. As such, the unit is extremely user friendly and is a "no brainer" for those used to dealing with similar products. At slightly larger than your hand, the Flex can be taken anywhere. It has a robust sound and excellent bass response. I've owned louder bluetooth speakers, but if you're buying Bose, you should already be aware that the company is focused on high quality rather than ... MoreI bought the Bose Flex to have a portable speaker to use when practicing with musicians, traveling and other instances where my phone just wasn't loud enough. I've owned louder bluetooth speakers, but if you're buying Bose, you should already be aware that the company is focused on high quality rather than high output. This speaker is more for intimate settings. I would not recommend using it for a house party. If I had to complain, I would mention the lack of an EQ. That is limited to the device sending the signal. There is a downloadable app that serves as an update hotspot and can connect other Bose speakers but is otherwise extraneous.
It's almost 2022 people, if you ever wanted a bluetooth speaker you have already bought a bluetooth speaker. So why would the Bose Soundlink Flex be any different? I canât speak to what you may already be using but if your old one broke or you just want to upgrade your sound a bit then let me recommend the Soundlink Flex right here and now.About 7 ½ inches long by 3 ½ wide by approximately 2 inches tall and a rubberized texture on all but the front speaker grill the Bose Soundlink Flex is large enough to kick out a plenty loud sound while still being portable. It has some heft but isnât quite what I would call âheavyâ either, it just feels sturdy and compact like a stereo speaker smashed down into a smaller package.Setup and controls are typical for modern speakers: push the âactionâ button to pause, skip forward, or skip back depending on how many presses you do in sequence. The volume up makes the sound go WAY up and volume down when you realize your kid made it too loud. Power and bluetooth are also present. In the box, which is a thick cardboard fold open which I love, is a setup booklet telling you to download the app, a USB-C charging cable, and one of those multilanguage fine print papers to tell you about the laser qualifications and stuff. Barebones but you donât really need anything else and the speaker is wrapped in plastic to keep it pristine until youâre ready to use it.Sound quality is quite good even at the highest volume (I sacrificed my eardrums to personally attest to that for you Best Buyers!) and the buttons are large enough to be found without any accidental presses. The center âactionâ button has raised bumps so you can always find âhomeâ on the button bar even without looking. Its a well built and high quality speaker that will meet just about anyoneâs needs, you wonât be using a stack of them at your next concert or rave but its more than loud enough for a beach trip, perfect for family audiobook nights, and an excellent choice for work around the house with tunes to motivate you. I would really recommend checking this out if youâre in the market for a new speaker.
At first I purchased one Flex; the sound was absolutely outstanding throughout the range of each song and classical piece that I tested. All of the selections I tested were well known to me since I had played them on many playback devices over the decades. True to Bose reputation for sound and quality I wasn't disappointed one bit!! Then it occurred to me that sound this fantastic could be greatly improved by real stereophonic sound, so I decided to purchase a second Flex. That was the best decision I had made since the inception of stereophonic sound in 1957, that I had bought into in 1959! Stereophonic sound in music was the single most outstanding thing that ever happened to home entertainment (too bad younger people never experienced that transition) as stereo sound in high fidelity was the most stunning sound I had ever heard up to that point! Ever! Now, thanks to Bose we have a new benchmark for high quality sound and stereo sound! I don't think that Bose can-out-do what they have accomplished with the SoundLink Flex! But, I won't take bets on that since they have been setting benchmarks for decades! So, if you have been sitting on a fence to decide a buy-in your wait should be over! Happy listening.
Excellent sound quality with a surprising amount of base and distortion-free volume. Hands down the best portable Bluetooth speaker Iâve ever owned. Together with its heft, the combination of the steel grille on the face and silicone sides and back make the speaker feel premium and very well built. It is Bluetooth-only, so keep that in mind - there is no Aux port or Wifi connectivity options. Battery life is a reasonable 10-14 hours. I use it primarily as my computer âsound barâ connected via Bluetooth to my 32â 4K monitor. My monitor will automatically connect to it when I power on the Bose speaker. It also has a microphone so can be used for Zoom or FaceTime calls. Itâs waterproof so will survive rain or being accidentally dropped into a pool. Between its versatility, volume and sound quality, durability, and great looks, the Bose Flex Soundlink is my perfect Bluetooth speaker. It was more expensive than other comparable products, however in this case the extra cost is definitely worth it.
The Bose SoundLink Flex is the perfect blend of form and functionality. It is compact enough to hook onto a picnic basket yet the weight and construction feel premium. The SoundLink Flex's powder-coated steel grille and silicone exterior means that it is not phased by being dropped or thrown around. I've had mind for a little over a year and the exterior has only minor imperfections that are only visible under close inspection. The IP67 water and dustproofing make this product feel life proof. The speakers are loud enough to supply ambiance for a small gathering for around 10-12 hours. The USB-C port means that charging is very quick--15 minutes plugged in nets you a few more hours of life and charging does not stop the music. The USB-C port means that charging is very quick--15 minutes plugged in nets you a few more hours of life and charging does not stop the music. It also helps that there is a voice prompt for the level of charge whenever the speaker is turned on. The EQ strikes a great bass-treble balance that sounds just as clear and defined at low and maximum volumes. The Bose Connect app give you additional functionality like linking to other Bose bluetooth speakers in part mode and voice control but I appreciate that you do not need this app for the speaker to function as expected. All in all, the Bose SoundLink Flex is a great speaker that will justify your purchase every time you use it. It sounds great for a long time, while also being rugged and light enough to justify bringing it everywhere.
