I have had Bose speakers for years and their sound was very good, however on “upgrading” to streaming I bought the 360+, it is not too bad for a single speaker & it tends to be used most days. But over the past 3/4 months it has developed an irritating issue where it suddenly decides that it won’t recharge. The speaker keeps on dropping off power quite dramatically even when not used on battery power alone. This is somewhat contrary to its advertising as it has not, even from new, held a charge for anywhere near its advertised capacity, more like 5/6 hours maximum before it begins to rapidly drop its charge state.A reboot or complete reset sometimes clears the device allowing it to fully charge, however within a week or two it begins the same cycle of failing to ... I am not a technophobe, quite the opposite but Bose themselves have been of little help when contacted either because they don’t know, won’t admit faults, don’t care or are that busy with faulty device issues that they come across as condescending they also love to send you vast quantities of cut & paste trivia often unrelated to your device. Bit like sending microwave instructions for a gas cooker. In summary a nice sound but really not worth the extra cost as there are devices of comparable sound quality for a lot less. I would not endorse this product as there seems to be an endemic quality or parts issue with the newer Bose equipment.

The Revolve+ is yet another Bose success. On paper, it might seem like just another portable speaker - which it is - but it has both Bose design and Bose performance, which set it apart from the others. It has a carry-handle on top that allows it to be easily/comfortably carried and/or clipped to a bag. It's got a tripod-thread insert on the bottom so it can be mounted almost anywhere, using a tripod or adapter. It's water/weather resistant so it can be used where there's water without fear. It's got rubber bumpers on the edges (I almost said "corners," but it's round!) to protect it from rough handling. It's got a forgiving and sturdy shell to let it do its job no matter where you take it!It charges via a standard micro-USB cord (cord & charger included) or via a separate, optional charging dock. Other BOSE speakers come with the dock, which is nice, but I s'pose it's a small enough add-on to let people choose for themselves. When it comes to performance, there were no surprises. Standard simplified rubber-covered buttons on top turn it on, control Bluetooth pairing/connection (along with and NFC tag to facilitate new connections), and control playback and speakerphone functions. These are pretty well industry standard by this point, and function as expected. The sound quality is where BOSE wins, as usual. Like every other BOSE speaker product, when the music starts playing, you wonder where the rest of the speakers are that are creating the sound you hear. This design has an all-around pattern, letting it be placed centrally in whatever space you're using and be heard equally well in every direction. You are also able, via the BOSE Connect smartphone app, to connect/synchronize 2 speakers and create "party mode" where one source device can play over multiple speakers simultaneously (disclaimer: I did not have more than one of this particular model to play with, but I've tested the technology before). The sound fills a room, when you're indoors, and fills a large space, when you're not confined. Only when both the speaker's volume and my source device's volume were both maxed did I begin to hear any degradation in the sound, and that could easily have been the source's fault - at any combination less than max/max, the sound quality was excellent - and extremely impressive for a unit this size.If I were to make recommendations for improvement, I would perhaps suggest that the charging dock be included (as mentioned above). I would also consider making the handle removable or stowable - it is nicely styled and matches the device, but it always sticks out in on direction or another and could be caught on other things if carried in a bag, etc.In any case, I would have no reservations about recommending this speaker to anyone. The BOSE build and sound quality make it a worthwhile addition to your audio device collection and the ability to pair more than one unit in "party mode" gives you the ability to have a large sound system in a tiny, transportable package. As usual, the "comparable" speaker from another manufacturer might be lower in price, but when it comes down to it, the quality and performance of those "comparable" speakers generally is not really comparable.

Next I connected to the unit with my IPhone initally and tested with my Android phone also, and both connected with ease. The Bose Connect App was then used to confgure any settings that you would like to adjust, including turning on and off the voice prompts, and firmware upgrades, in fact the first step was to upgrade the firmware of the device, which once again was simple and straight forward. One option I really wish was there, would be an EQ setting to slightly adjust the overall performance, but otherwise I was happy. The controls on the top of the unit are great and well laid out, you can power on and off the device, and bluetooth on and off, as well as switching over to AUX audio by connecting a cable to the back of the unit. There's a button to start and stop your music no matter if it's Radio, Streaming Service or music stored on your device.Onto the testing, the sound quality is amazing, I was very impressed overall, I think the Bass is a little less than the Soundlink mini, but not by alot, the 360 degree speaker system really is 360 degree and no a simulation, and it's perfect no matter where you sit, I tried the unit in the garden, main living room, and home study and was very impressed, the treble is clean, the mid range is nice and testing with a variety of music from Alicia Keys, to some Rudimental tracks, to Bon Jovi all sounded good, turning up the unit was very impressive and very loud. The bass does fade away on louder volumes to stop the unit from distortion but overall its clean and well balanced. The unit has the capability of connecting with NFC, which I tested with my Samsung phone, and connected successfully without a problem. The battery life is quoted at 18 hours and in fact I managed 17.5 on medium volume which is great.A nice feature is the handsfree telephone calling, which is always very useful while using your phone at the same time. I tested once again with IPhone and Android, and was brilliant, the sound was crystal clean, and the receiver mentioned that they couldn't tell that I was using a speakerphone system.Overall i'm very happy with this unit, and I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a compact looking speaker, with multiple capabilities. The design is nice, and the build quality is what you expect from Bose.Highly Recommended

These have been well made, reliable and easy to use.So far, I have only used the product around the house. However, I have been considering how the unit would stand up to the rigours of outdoor use and travel. I think that the Revolver+ concept is ideal for taking on holiday (including camping) and when away on business, as it is designed to be splash-proof and rugged. Examination of the speaker suggests that it is well up to meeting these attributes. The speaker is a slightly unusual shape and carrying with the handle feels like you are carrying some kind of lantern! The unit is very easy to use and initial pairing with a number of Bluetooth sources was quick and easy. The rubberised buttons provide good tactile feedback and provide confidence that the speaker will withstand the odd shower or two.The most pleasing aspect of the revolver+ is the sound quality and volume capability. I would say that the sound quality is even better than the already superb Soundlink Mini. The clarity of sound and the well-balanced frequency response is very impressive, as is the surprising sound levels achievable without any distortion. The sound appears to come from a large area around the speaker, rather than from a small point and the sound does not change as you move around the speaker. All music types used with the speaker have been reproduced beautifully and the music always seems to hit the spot on an emotional level. Few sound systems I have experienced , including my expensive HiFi system, have the ability to allow me to ‘connect’ with the music as much as this allows me to. One can really listen-in to the different strands of a piece of music, allowing one to focus on individual voices or instruments, without destroying the overall coherence of the pieceI have found myself listening to the revolver+ more than any other sound equipment I have. This is all the more surprising when taking into consideration that it is not even stereo! Anyone considering splashing out on a HiFi System of a similar cost should give the Revolver+ a listen first. The Revolver+ is an expensive item and many may not be prepared to pay the relatively high price. However, I strongly suspect that any prospective purchaser willing to give the speaker a listen will be convinced that it is well worth the cost and would not have any regrets long-term if purchased.
I’ve been looking to get a Bluetooth speaker for some time now, and even considered building a retro looking one based on a Raspberry Pi for some time. Long impressed with sound clarity and volume of the Bose SoundDock products I was excited to read about and experience the Bose Soundlink Revolve + and hoped that it would deliver the same quality experience I enjoy from my Bose headphones. I was lucky enough to get one of the first Revolve+ speakers available in the UK and thought to do a review to share my early thoughts on the product. This little speaker packs a punch! Pairing to my iPhone was a cinch, and right off the bat that familiar Bose sound clarity was evident and sound is crystal clear all the way through the volume range. I listen to a wide variety of music but was most impressed with sound clarity and fullness of a couple of classical tracks, opera and a couple of piano tracks to be specific, and Rag n’ Bone man sounded much better than on my headphones, and Kendrick Lamar tracks had great bass. I was concerned whether sound quality would suffer from the Bluetooth wireless connection, as has been the criticism with a number of earlier Bluetooth products, but I’m happy to report the Revolve+ sounds better than my Bose OE cans and MIE2i in ear wired headphones and at no point sounded unnatural.Parked on the corner of my home office desk the speaker looks the part with a modern, minimalist and fresh design. When unboxing I didn’t like the carry handle attached to the top of the speaker much, but must admit it is useful, sturdy, and makes moving the speaker around simple. The design reminds me a little of some kind of lantern. Build quality is top notch as with all Bose products. I’ve used the speaker for about 4 hours over the past two days and the battery is still above 70%, or so an 80s movie computer sounding voice tells me when I turn it on.The speaker controls are super simple to use and I didn’t need to look at the manual to pair the phone or use any of its functions. I would recommend installing the Bose Connect app on your smartphone to get some of the additional features going, such as integration with Siri and doing software updates. The speakerphone capability of the Soundlink Revolve+ is a nice touch too and a welcome additional feature working much better than my iPhones build in speakerphone. The Bose Soundlink Revolve+ ticks all the boxes that I wanted from a Bluetooth speaker and exceeds my expectations in many respects. I would strongly recommend the speaker to anyone in the market for a high quality bluetooth speaker. I’ll also update this review once I’ve lived with the speaker for a bit longer.
Received these about Christmas time and have listened to a bunch of music with them in the month or so since. I can link several Bluetooth devices to them at once and I primarily use them in Stereo Mode (a sub-set of Party Mode). I also like to use them in semi-permanent positions with extra long micro-B charging cables and I disable Power Save mode, so they just start working when I decide to play some music. They have excellent bass reproduction - better than any small or portable speakers I have tested. I would guestimate that they get down to between 35 or 40 Hz, not quite as low as my 10" sub goes, but them, it's hard to carry a sub woofer around. I like an older person's variety; classical, blues, 70s-80s rock, country and bluegrass - these do well on all of ... I wish they came with wide black rubber bands to stretch around the widest point and provide a bumper. I'm using a tan rubber band for now. They have an easy phone app, but really, it's just as easy and alot faster to learn to use the top buttons. Here's a tip that helps with speaker placement. If you have a clean rectangular wastebasket made of heavy plastic, try laying it on its side with opening facing you and place the speaker inside 3-4 inches from the back. This directs and improves the bass even more and will help you visualize where you can place the speaker to get the best sound. A book shelf or on the floor does well too.
I love speakers, they are truly a wonderful addiction for me, so I was very happy to purchase 2 revolve plus speakers. Like any small speaker they have their limitations, but overall the true 360 degree sound is what makes these speaker special. What ruins the experience for me is the extreme reliance on the Bose Connect app. The App itself is fine (I use android) but it's the way you have to use that app that is no fun.First, Instead of making it possible to initiate a 2 speaker connection from the speaker itself (like other manufacturers do) you can only connect two speakers together for either party mode or as a left/right set of stereo speakers via the Bose Connect app, and the speakers will only stay in party or stereo connected mode so long as they are ... This means you can only used these advanced functions with the app and only with devices that support the app.Second, the stereo and party functions can't be used when a device is connected via the aux input. Finally, because of the way the connected functions are implemented I find that these speakers are much more prone to random Bluetooth disconnects than other brands with similar functions. The implementation of the connected functions limits both the devices and the situations where the connected functions can be used, also the frequent and random Bluetooth disconnects when using the connected (party mode or stereo mode) functions further limits the usefulness of these functions and the speakers in general. Other manufactures have implemented these functions in such a way that they work on any device, not just devices that support their app. I'd like to see Bose make the connected functions available without the need for the app, and I'd like these speakers to have a more robust Bluetooth connection when working in connected mode.My 2 star rating is for the entire experience taking into account the heavy reliance on the app, the artificially limited device support, the flaky Bluetooth connections and the price. I do like the speakers a lot, but as whole package, these are a bit of a disappointment.
User: The Bose SoundLink Revolve+ is a speaker that will satisfy any user. I am a college student and use mine in various situations. I use mine in our apartment, when we are grilling, on camping trips, and even on vacations where we have to fly to. What makes this speaker stand apart from others is the all new 360-degree sound technology. With this feature, the speaker spreads deep, jaw-dropping sound in every direction so no matter where you are standing, you will experience the same outstanding sound. Once you hear the SoundLink Revolve+ perform in person, there is no doubt you will love this speaker.Design: There are two colors to choose from either black or silver. I chose the black one and was very happy with how nice it turned out looking. The entire speaker is very smooth looking with no seams. They added the handle to the Revolve+ which makes it very easy for transporting. I would give the overall design of the speaker a 10/10.Features: The next thing that I am going to talk about are some of the features that come standard with the SoundLink Revolve+. It is water-resistant which makes it nice for playing by the pool or even in the rain. Another feature is the soft material around the edges that come in handy when the speaker is accidentally dropped. This is nice if children are using the speaker or you accidentally knock it off the counter. Lastly, the battery life on these are amazing. When it is fully charged the play time is 16 hours. Any speakers that are comparable to this one will not come close to that play time.Pricing: When it comes to the price of this speaker, it is a little more expensive than other speakers in the same category. I always look at it as you get what you pay for, and that is the case with this speaker. Although a little more expensive, you will not be disappointed with the product. Conclusion: The Bose SoundLink Revolve+ suits a wide range of users and that is why I think this speaker is a good choice for anyone interested in a new Bluetooth speaker. I also have informed you of the Bose SoundLinks features and overall functionality, and I truly hope this review will be beneficial to others interested in purchasing this amazing speaker.
I've had the Revolve+ now for just over two weeks and it's fitted into my life perfectly.Firstly setting up is so easy, I paired it to my phone and iPad no problem and once I had downloaded the Bose Connect app playing sound through it is as simple as opening the app you want to use and pressing play. I use Spotify and various radio apps and as someone else has put in their review I start using Youtube because being a Bluetooth speaker it just plays what my phone does which is a great freedom from the other Wi-Fi speaker I have. There are a couple of downsides with the Bluetooth element, it drains phone battery to play the music and also when my phone rings it automatically switches the phone call to the speaker but this can be easily disconnected once you answer. ... If there's any opportunity to stop this happening automatically that would be appreciated. It is well documented the sound quality for the size of the speaker is amazing. When using it in the kitchen diner I've turned around due to the quality coming from it. Where it sits in my alcove the 360° speaker bounces sound around the room and clarity of the bass constantly surprises me. Having a portable speaker wasn't something I'd thought about before getting the Revolve+ but now I can't think why I didn't have one before. I live in a terraced house and where before I would have had to disturb neighbours and play my music loudly out the backdoor when having a BBQ or sitting outside for an evening drink, I now just take the speaker out, put it on the table and I can hear it perfectly without my neighbours having to. I love it!I've not fully tested the battery yet, I've used it for around 4 hours at any time outside and when I finished using it the battery was still at 80% so the 16 hours battery time claimed by Bose I have no reason to doubt. Neither have I had need to find out whether it's waterproof yet but again I won't worry should it start raining, take it to the poolside on holiday. All in all an amazing product, whilst it is expensive, you are getting top quality sound that you can take around with you.
I bought this 18 months ago and was extremely happy with the speaker until I did a firmware update that turned on bluetooth auto-connect which cannot be turned off. It means I would never recommned this speaker to anyone and would recommend you go for alternative products like UE Boom 3.In general what is good:- The app works well and the speaker connects easily most of the time, every now and then I get a flakey bluetooth connection- Sound quality is good (particularly for the size)- The battery life (pre auto connect feature) is good.In general what is not so good:- bluetooth autoconnect drains battery and randomly connects in the middle of the night waking people up- price is high and on a value basis is hard to make it stand up against some of the ... In many cases it randomly connects in the middle of the night waking people up and it tells you it has connectedTo be clear you CAN"T TURN OFF the bluetooth auto-connect feature. Pressing the power button doesn't turn it off. The Bose recommended solution is to turn bluetooth off on your device which means you can't use other devices (eg car stereo). Why Bose just don't provide the option to turn this feature off (like it was when first purchased) is beyond me.As I said, I
