This is a great sounding amp that is designed for the acoustic musician. The basic sound of the amp is very good with lots of options for tweaking and effects that are really usable. Build quality is strong, which is what you expect from Boss. The only thing that lets it down is the looper which will play for 2 seconds when you're trying to clear the loop, meaning you have to mute the amp in a gig situation to do this, hence the 4 stars, but don't let that put you off what is really a very practical amplifier. Serious 'loopers' will probably use a seperate pedal anyway.

Only had a little time with the amp so far own a boss katana and was really pleased with that so looked into the singer pro acoustic for singing and acoustic guitar. Was pleased with the sound quality for both guitar and vocals and when you consider the cost of a looper and voice harmoniser it does the job in one package. Boss seem to be thinking about what we want and delivering it. The build quality looks and ease of use is a bonus.

Outstanding sound guitar channel and microphone channel. Effects are boss quality effects. DI and auxiliary input seals the deal. Your acoustic will sound awesome in this amp. Easy to handle.

The weight of the Singer Pro is the main negative point, so much so, I've had to buy an additional lighter amplifier (a Roland Chorus AC40) for busking which was under half the Singer Pro price and about one third of the weight. The sound of this twin-speaker AC40 amp was at least as good as the Singer Pro. Sadly, the AC40 has been phased out. Singer Pro weight around 15Kg and AC40 5Kg. To be fair, the Singer Pro has a Loop function and a Harmony funtion (both of which I haven't used). Audio Output seems very similar volume. Interestingly the Chorus effect on the Roland AC40 feels more effective and its manual says the Chorus is fed to one speaker with the raw ouput diverted to the other speaker. The manual says this allows mixing of sound outside of the amplifier. ... MoreThe weight of the Singer Pro is the main negative point, so much so, I've had to buy an additional lighter amplifier (a Roland Chorus AC40) for busking which was under half the Singer Pro price and about one third of the weight. The manual says this allows mixing of sound outside of the amplifier. I agree.BUT both Boss/Roland . amplifiers are truly excellent but the AC40 has become my favourite. One last thing; the Singer Pro comes with a plastic footswitch ...not mentioned so I bought an additional one.
I was stoked by the features this amp has and eager to try it. I was hoping it would have the sound and quality of the Roland AC-60 acoustic amp. Wrong. You can't play guitar and sing loudly at the same time (regular gig levels). The guitar will cut out. The tone of both vocals and guitar is also mediocre at best. I've been trying to sell it for months now and no one is interested; I don't blame them.
I purchased this amp to function as a small PA at gigs. I've used the Roland AC-60 for years and hoped this would be an upgrade. I assumed it would have a mount for a speaker stand and it does not. I looked into many options. An amp stand is too short...in a gig situation, you need the height of a speaker stand. Adding an external mount would mean loosing the warranty. I reached out to BOSS/ROLAND directly and they suggested using a bar stool. Really!!?? Returned.
My previous amplifier wasn't up to my new gig at an outdoor patio. I was concerned this one might be too small and underpowered but it's actually excellent. It does a really good job with my acoustic guitar my Martin sounds wonderful on it. And the vocals are great. No issues at all and I love hearing ability to fine-tune the equalizer on both channelsVery happy with I am very happy with it and would buy it again.
I leave my Acoustic Singer Live set up with a guitar and mic for at home sessions that require no set up time. Flip the power switch and practice, work up new material or write songs. I have also played small gigs with this amp up to outdoors for 30 -50 people. I have had good results using the DI to front of house as well. It can do so much for such a small convenient amp.
As an owner of both the Fender Acoustic 200 and the TC Helicon Voicelive Play Acoustic, I can tell you that this unit sounds better, avoids the unnecessary clutter of using a traditional acoustic amp with a footpedal, and is everything you could ask for in terms of an acoustic singer-songwriter set up.On the vocal side: the harmonies are spot on, sound super authentic and non-robotic, and the reverb and effects are superb. On the guitar side: seriously enhances the sound of your acoustic instrument and the effects and reverb are top notch.Couldn't be more enthusiastic about this amp!! Buy it!!!
I have a Fishman SA220, and a Bose L1, with subwoofer and Tonematch. I can tell you this amplifier is a lot of fun. I've never really fooled with loopers and harmonies. This makes it simple, even for an old man. This is on par with the other systems I have. Only it seems crisper to my ears. Plenty of power, great tone, and effects I'll actually use. Not sure about longevity yet, only time will tell. So far I love it.
