As usual this item arrived early and well packed. I’ve owned the RE201 tape echo for 40 years this year and I love it but, the time has come to reduce the load and when I saw the RE202 I thought I’d try it. It fits well into my pedal board and although I haven’t fully got to grips with it I’ve found the main sound I need. Although a bit of a technophobe I’m sure I’ll find the rest in time. Fantastic piece of kit.

I've had quite a few emulations of the Space Echo pass through my hands, including several prior Roland / Boss versions, and I've been lucky enough to play the original, although I've never owned one. I think Boss has got closest yet with this version. Other than where they have deliberately pushed the edges of the envelope (4th head option, effects options, longer delay time) this behaves like a space echo and being able to dial in the degree of saturation and wow and flutter is a very nice touch. It also looks amazing, and the retro CE-1-style casing is just a really nice piece of material - it feels great in the hands and has just the right degree of weight to it. It even comes with a PSU in case you need one. Nothing not to like here - sure it's a bit expensive, ... MoreI've had quite a few emulations of the Space Echo pass through my hands, including several prior Roland / Boss versions, and I've been lucky enough to play the original, although I've never owned one. I won't be getting the 201 pocket pedal version, but that's pretty intriguing too!

I’m old enough to remember the original 201 but could never afford one. This is as genuine a digital reincarnation of that tape echo. The sounds are crystal clear and controllable as you wish with 4 memory settings plus manual: I used it for first time this week at a ‘live’ gig and it was superb and so easy to manage. Best yet from Boss.

Bought the Boss RE 202 have seen the YouTube videos showing its range and flexibility. It doesn’t disappoint. PMT Service is as great as ever.
This is a pretty nice unit overall. It takes a bit of tweaking and messing around to work out how to quickly get basic echos. The reverb & echo controls lend themselves to over the top sounds if you aren't careful. (if you like spacey sounds this is the echo for you) Learn how to use the intensity knob as it is very easy to provide way too much feedback for basic echos.
Even now, when there are hundreds of pedals and builders to choose from, Boss remains at the top. Not only does this sound amazing, it looks absolutely killer. This is a new benchmark for visual esthetics. All of the knobs and functions are perfectly laid out... it's just a spectacular job all the way around by the design team.I debated getting the smaller pedal but am very happy I didn't. The extra control over the sound is well worth it to me, as is the ability to save presets. I also happen to hate blinking tap tempo lights and avoid delays that have them. This has tap tempo, but it's possible to keep the light off on this pedal. This has tap tempo, but it's possible to keep the light off on this pedal. So far I have made 3 presets that allowed me to kick my other delay pedals from my board: Single head slap back delay (best I've ever created), go to solo delay, and spaced out trippy delay set to heads 1,3 and 4. And on that last preset, this larger version adds a 4th tape head not found in the vintage unit or the new smaller unit. I find it useful.I can't find a single fault on this pedal. This will go down as one of the all time great accomplishments for Boss, and for me... it'll be on my board for years to come.
Definitely a very underrated pedal. I've used re-20 for a long time and this thing blows it out of the water. The difference in quality of sound and the authenticity of it is staggering. It's also cheaper, takes up less room on my board, and has just as many options. It just sounds so good. I'm extremely pleased with this purchase which I went out on a limb for since I wasn't familiar with NUX pedals. Being able to control the time the rate or the level with an expression pedal is fantastic. Probably one of my favorite pedals I've used.

A truly amazing recreation of the iconic space echo sound. I’ve used lots of real tape echos over the years and have always been disappointed by plugins and pedals trying to nail the sound. This is totally different. Highly recommended.
I’ve tried and owned a few delay pedals, but this is outstanding ! It so versatile. Even just using the 5 presets is value for money. You can get both modern delay effects as well as vintage. Sounds great with Telecaster through a Vox amp, but then a Schecter with a cheap battery Boss amp sounded amazing as well, it’s like it polishes your sound.
