I bought this hose to replace an old one that had burst, The first product was missing a piece - meaning it constantly dripped despite being installed correctly. The second product blocked within a day - only fixed once I removed the water saver. Now the third hose seems to be having issues with the one way valve. Would seriously recommend just spending the money on a higher end brand straight up. Don't waste your time. Bunnings were great with the returns and exchange process, but a shame the product doesn't hold the same high standard as their service does.

I thought I'd test the hose before installation and found it takes a significant flow before the auto stop feature kicks in. When it does, it doesn't shut off but just rapidly vibrates on and off and exudes black bits of what I assume is the internal valve (see picture and note the water in the toilet was clear before the test). The noise from the valve vibration might alert you to a burst hose but it won't prevent your house being flooded! The hose braiding might be superior but the safety cut off claim should be rescinded as it doesn't work.

I have been using 2 of these with my toilets for several months now. They are working perfectly. The connections MUST be tightened so that the restricting washer is seated home (use an extra washer if the threaded outlet is too short) or the flood shut off will keep tripping.

Replaced an old connector and inlet valve for my toilet. The burst guard on this hose activates too easily, even if there is a sudden change in pressure and not an actual burst. To have the water flowing again, I had to use a wrench to disconnect and reconnect the hose again. Will be returning for a refund.
Installed this two days ago and while the patented automatic burst guard protector thing they've marketed sounds like a good idea to save money on buying separate shut-off valves for each connector, I cannot use my taps now because the patented feature keeps blocking my water connector. I guess it's thinking the water pressure is too high all the time so it keeps blocking my water connector. I aim to return the product back.
I installed 3 of these. Like other reviewers, I find that everytime I isolate the water supply to do some plumbing work elsewhere in the house, then re-apply the water supply, these hoses think it is a burst pipe scenario and shut off. I then have to fiddle about trying to bleed them to re-establish the water flow through them. Don't bother with them.
Should have a disclaimer i.e. “not suitable if water pressure is greater than 9 litres per minute”. Misleading label says if you remove the 9 ltr (limiter?) device the valve may trigger and shut off the flow. After reading these reviews and 4 attempts to install (with accompanying soaking of new vanity cabinet) I called Fix-A-Tap. They confirmed that the if the pressure delivered to the hose is greater than 9ltr pm the valve will shut off. The ‘device’ is therefore useless and misleading.
A month ago I Bought 11 of these. 8 used on taps and 3 for toilet fill on my 20 year old house. I know of house floods when old flexi pipes have burst and so the shutoff valve feature was very attractive. Unlike all other reviews at the time that rated these very poorly I’ve not had a real problem. In fact water flow in normal use was not affectedWhen there was air trapped in the pipe work after installing it has to escape through the valve. If the tap was not just cracked open, the air fires through and can close the valve. This was the only problem I encountered. If the valve closes it completely seals ie does what it’s designed to do. The only way to open and reset the valve is to remove the connector before the valve to eliminate the pressure difference across ... I have purchase 4 of these after discovering my age bathroom vanity connectors were ready to burst after +10 years. All 4 units are working as intended; no issues whatsoever. The cut-off mechanism works as stated. Would recommend.
I bought this hose and it works great! I installed it correctly, which helps (water only flows through it one way due to the cut off valve - there's a big arrow that shows you the flow direction - if you put it in backwards it won't work, which I dare say is exactly what the 1 star reviewer did). Love the piece of mind that if the hose does happen to go, the valve will cut the flow.
