I've worn Birks since my 20s and this is a step up from the regular Boston style. (Note: these are "wide" width, if you prefer a narrower style, order Women's.) The footbed is made of soft Piumato leather and you can feel a difference. I was somewhat concerned that the smoothness of the leather wouldn't allow me to wear socks when the weather cools down but after trying them with even my slickest socks, they are fine. I owned a pair of the Arizonas in this leather covered style and appreciate that the cork footbed isn't exposed, so there's no need to worry about treating it with a different product. These shoes will last and, in my opinion, are worth the investment.

And free delivery as a subscriber.Yes this review is about my purchase and not the shoes themselves - I did say I buy them yearly, so they must be ok. [they only last a year or less as I’m a chef and they take a beating].
Using as work shoes. On my feet for 12.5 hours a day and these are super comfy. I'd recommend.
It’s honestly the best shoes if you are in healthcare and work for long hours. Comfy, easy to slip on and off and orthopedic. Only downfall is that the leather eventually creases at the angle between the foot and the toes, but overall excellent quality.
I normally wear a 41 in Birkenstock’s. These fit a bit small. It felt like my foot was slightly hanging off the back so I returned them. They looked great though so hoping they come back in stock in a 42

These are comfy, ugly and feel avant garde. I love them both with jeans and long black dresses, in and out of the house. Perfect for the warmer days when I want to cover my toes while wandering the city, or when I can't be bothered to do my toe nails!?I am usually a 6 in Birks but got a 7 and they fit much better.
