Bowers and Wilkins ASW610 10" Subwoofer
Its long-throw 250mm driver allows the ASW610 to move the large volumes of air needed for high-quality low-frequency output, and its audiophile-standard 200W Class D amplifier keeps the compact unit running cool, even when the music or movie action is whipping up a storm. In all of the 600 Series subwoofers, the bass driver diaphragms are constructed from a rugged, finely-tuned mix of paper pulp, Kevlar fibers and resin, which provides the stiffness needed to withstand the tremendous physical forces exerted by the voice coil and pressures inside the cabinet. Ultra-solid construction delivers slamming bass, drum kicks, and special movie effects. Deformation is minimized; bass precision, power and enjoyment are maximized.

Our B&W ASW610 Subwoofer sounds excellent and has integrated extremely well with the sound field from our new 5x Monitor Audio Mass Satellite surround sound speakers. It has a tight bass and a good range of controls for adjusting volume, auto on/off etc. We are very pleased with this Bowers & Wilkins subwoofer.

Had this 2 weeks now . Matched up with a Denon X3700H and some other BW speakers. This gave the balance I was looking for. Great bass without being overpowering, lends a real quality feel to my home cinema. Was intending to upgrade my old 601's but I'm really happy with this set up which also includes a pair of 607's .Richersounds Cardiff were really helpful with my purchase once again. Delivery was spot on . Richersounds will be my first choice retailer for future additions.

After seeking advice from Richer Sounds regarding a speaker up grade for my B&W DM600S3's speakers i was advised to add a subwoofer to obtain the low range my speakers lacked at times and was recommended the B&W ASW610 . And from the first moment i was blown away!! and the sound just keeps improving ( i keep tweaking) from a good action movie to some dirty drum and bass the sound is just impeccable such a massive sound from a relatively small unit and was so easy to set up and such solid amazing build quality cant recommend enough!!

I have been an audiophile for at least 40 years. For my "stereo room" I power 2 stereo channels for the "front" and 2 stereo channels for the "rear". It's really just 2 sets of left channel and 2 of the right. Power comes from 2 ADCOM 5400 amplifiers running into an ADCOM GFP-565. I power the subwoofer by using the L/R "Lab" line outs from the 565. The 2 ADCOM amps are not bridged. The "front" speakers are new B&W 606's (in place of a pair of ancient Yamaha NS-200M's that are still incredibly accurate and very loud). My "rear" speakers are B&W 684 S2's. Replacing a 75lb Klipsch subwoofer required a lot of listening and comparing. Replacing a 75lb Klipsch subwoofer required a lot of listening and comparing. Many thanks to Best Buy's Magnolia staff, in all West Palm Beach area locations, who sometimes would allow me to test out all different combinations on the touchscreen selector (North Palm Beach, Wellington and West Palm Beach and which are all only within a 15-30 minute drive from my house). I always use selections from my TIDAL app and hook-up via bluetooth to the AV panel. After listening to 7 different high-end subs, all paired with B&W 606's, I was convinced that this 10" 600 was the most accurate subwoofer I have ever fooled-with. This is a tight sub and perhaps the only one I found suitable for music-only applications. Like the rest of the Bowers & Wilkins speakers, the engineering is superb and often brilliant as with the long-standing "Nautilus" design and the concept of tweeter isolation. These Brits know how to engineer the finest "hi-fi" equipment in the world and if you are into music you owe it to yourself to give this sub a listen.
This matches very well with the B&W 603 towers I bought along with it (we also have B&W 600 series center, but I do my critical listening in stereo). It's worth spending time adjusting this; if your receiver has a calibration procedure you should do so.The bass is tight and as deep as can reasonbly be expected from a 10" driver in a small enclosure. We have a fairly large listening area with cathedral ceiling and have no problem filling it with this with minimal distortion. This makes a real difference with music with strong low bass content -- third movement of Saint-Saens's Organ symphony, or the "Goddess of Thunder" Alejandra Villarreal's bass with The Warning. I'm not a big movie devotee so can't speak to low frequency effects. My ASW610sub woofer is 27 months old. Out of warranty unless the company is sympathetic to my situation. At any high volume there is severe distortion making the loudspeaker unusable. I am waiting for B&W to call me back. This speaker is not cheap and as a company has a great reputation. In conclusion the powered subwoofer which you would assume could handle higher volumes has FAILED THE LONG TERM TEST.
I purchased this primarily for music. Its relatively small but gives me that deeeep bass I demand. I required small, but at least a 10 inch driver. Many great features make this very flexible and will prolong its useful life. You need to spend time to tune it in with your environment and usage. I'm only two weeks in and don't have it tuned in fully yet but still I'm happy with the results, although as I have a large living area the deep bass is lost more than 5 meters away (I guess I will need two then).Home theatre usage is great. It punches in at the right times (to scare the kids) without taking over.A quality product.
This took quite a while to get the settings to be just right, I experienced some cutting out of the speaker, probably due to self-preservation but after that the bass is very nice. Has a really low frequency response and is nice and compact and fits in nicely next to my my ultra short screen projector
Another great speaker from Bowers & Wilkins, with incredible performance. The deep bass notes are felt as well as heard, but not in an overpowering way that would drown the rest of music from other speakers in the set up. The sound created blends naturally, offers great boost to the bass emitted from front speakers, and gives a true life like resonance. The driver moves with great precision by means of strong magnetic pull on the cone, hence the sound punched from it is accurate and stable.£519 well spent on my part, and I am more than pleased with the outlay.Brilliant unit both in sound and construction.
Firstly, I was impressed that the team at Leeds were prepared to lend me a b&w subwoofer because the one I wanted had such a long delivery time for reasons that everyone knows about.Once I received my new b&w asw610. I set it up and experimented with the dials on the rear following the advice given by the manufacturer.Well, what a revelation. Simply put, the subwoofer took over the low end frequencies brilliantly and gave me the impression that this allowed the towers to bring out the best in the mid and high frequencies. How sublime it all is now. Thanks to all at Leeds Richer Sounds
