If your priorities are musical enjoyment over noise-cancelling ability, then the B&W PX7 S2 are the natural choice at this price point. These headphones are definitely a case of quality over quantity. Sound quality is typical of the deserved B&W reputation - warm, firm bottom end, precise mid-range, and crystal high end combine seamlessly as a result of experienced engineering and premium materials. These headphones exude quality as soon as you pick them up, as they weigh slightly more than the typical over-ear headphones, and this weight comes from the solid casing and the premium plastics. The solidity of the unit, while determining the quality of the sound produced, also means that these headphones do not collapse into a more portable case, which is the only slightly negative aspect of the PX7 S2. Sacrificing a bit of space for a superior listening experience is something we can all live with. No touch-sensor controls on the sides of the unit is a blessing in my humble opinion as I usually become annoyed when every brushing movement of earbuds or cheaper over-ear headphones means pausing or skipping tracks, or hanging up on a call by accident. This may be an inconvenience for those on the go who don't have the time to get their phone out of their pocket to use the functions on the touch screen, but these headphones aren't for teenagers listening to songs on YouTube on low definition settings. They are for discerning high resolution listeners who know how to enjoy the depth of high quality audio devices.Oh, did I say these headphones are bloody fantastic? Pretty sure I did. Anyway grab yourself a pair and bung 'em on you noggin - you won't regret it!

Don't get me wrong, these are great sounding headphones, I bought these for the sound alone and I found it had a lot more clarity than any other Bluetooth headphones on the market right now (albeit the bass is a bit muddy). However, there's no real reason to have this when for Apple, there is a better headphone, and for Android, you can't even download the Google Play App (disclaimer I have Android). The app is supposed to easily connect to the Px7 S2 but after detecting the headphones and attempting to connect, the app always loses the headphones. People have complained about this for months, each time the support replied stating an update was "imminent". People have complained about this for months, each time the support replied stating an update was "imminent". From the time that I bought the headphones it took them three months to release an update and surprise surprise it still doesn't work! Now if you think you can survive without the app (like I was duped into thinking by a different shop), without the app, you can't download updates, can't use a native equaliser, and can't change settings.Out of the box, the headphones will when connected to two devices, disconnect from the second device after a few mins and doesn't reconnect back so can't use two devices. I managed to get an update for this from a mate's iPhone which worked for a month before the issue came back. Additionally, the headphones will turn off after 15 mins of non use which would be a cool battery saving feature but then they don't reconnect back! So you got to make sure your phone isn't connected when you use it with your laptop and you can't ever just have the headphones on your head for just noise cancelling instead of music without you having to reconnect it when you want to listen to music again. This might sound like a rant but QoL matters and I wish I focused on it more over than just the sound quality. This is just an annoying device to use, I would not recommend anyone to have the same experience.

I was delighted to be offered the chance to test and review these outstanding noise cancelling headphones. For some time I have been wanting to upgrade from my earbuds and I haven't looked back since. The headphones are safely nestled and protected in a luxurious case. They are very comfortable over the ear and on the head and I haven't once felt them slip. The App is very user friendly, guiding you through set up, connecting to devices and the functionality of the headphones buttons. I successfully connected them to my Android phone and my iPad and it is really straightforward switching between them. You can connect via the App or the headphones and you can select in the App to automatically connect to the last device used. I would highly recommend taking advantage ... You can connect via the App or the headphones and you can select in the App to automatically connect to the last device used. I would highly recommend taking advantage of the free trial with the QoBuz App as that enables you to stream music at superior quality which demonstrates even further the incredible layers of instruments and voice that the headphones introduce you to. Battery life is very impressive. My biggest win with these headphones is that my autistic niece, who has always refused wearing headphones which she desperately needs to help with her sensory issues, loves wearing them - there could not be a better endorsement of how comfortable they are! I always thought I had a good ear for music but these headphones have opened up a new world of percussion, bass and crystal clear voices. The Bowers & Wilkins brand is new to me but I will be waxing lyrical to friends and family about these superb, comfortable headphones.

These headphones have a very sturdy construction. The head-size adjustment is very wide and when adjusted it stays put nicely. The earcups are very soft. I was able to wear glasses with the headphones on for almost 2 hours with no pinching, so the designers certainly insured they are comfortable. Also the material used for the earcups does not cause your ears to overheat – tip of the cap to the engineers at Bowers and Wilkins. The app is very well designed, the controls are intuitive and the install went flawless on both a PC and cell phone. You can keep two devices paired. A 3.5mm stereo jack is included as well as a carry case and charging cable. The noise cancelling kicks in nicely and you can use the button on the left ear cup to turn noise cancelling on and off.I did find the audio could separate instruments better than other headphones I have used. This confirmed the more premium price was worth it due to the 24-bit processing high-res DSP and the powerful and custom 40mm drive units. There are also 6 noise cancelling microphones – wow.I did try these headphones with various music sources, cell phones and an online zoom meeting. I noted I could pause music by lifting one earcup; when earcup returned to ear, the music started like magic – great. The 30 hour battery life is also outstanding.I would highly recommend these outstanding headphones for music, online meetings and cell phone usage.
Before purchasing these, I tried the Airpod max, Bose 700, Sony XM4, XM5 and Sennheiser Momentum 3 and 4. If you're considering these headphones, then you've probably considered these others as well. All are great headphones, but the main question is "am I more concerned about noise cancellation or sound quality?"The Sony XM5 take the top spot for their ability to cancel out sound, but sound quality is more important to me. However, their sound quality and soundstage are just so much better than the other headphones mentioned above.I use them exclusively on airplanes, and listen to a variety of music, mainly instrumental, relaxing piano or jazz (not loud rock). Even at low volume levels, the sound is incredibly enjoyable and relaxing despite the slight hum of the plane's engines. When I look around the plane and see only Bose, Sony or Beats, I smile and am so glad to have found these gem's of airplane travel. They are like having your own personal concert hall and I actually look forward to getting on a plane now.One additional note. Purchase an external DAC/amplifier, and this will take these already excellent headphones to another level. I use the Topping NX4, but FiiO, Schiit and Xduoo all make DAC's under $200. You'll have to use a cable (no longer wireless), but absolutely worth it if you enjoy sound. A portable DAC will even fit inside the case (see picture).

Bought these from the ever friendly Horsham store, who were having an electrical section reorg, so had to rummage around to find them.I had previously, owned the predecessor PX7 model, but returned them due to big head comfort issues. I'm glad to say B&W have addressed this with a fuller headband and less severe cleaning force which loosened a little after some wear. These are the best sounding wireless headphones I've ever tried, better than my much loved KEF Space One Wireless, and the new KEF MU7s that I also tried. Better than the rather heavily EQ'd but nonetheless brilliant Sony XM4s that I also returned in favour of these rather elegant cans. They look and feel premium in black, without being too showy, The controls are logical and easy to access buttons, ... Better than the rather heavily EQ'd but nonetheless brilliant Sony XM4s that I also returned in favour of these rather elegant cans. They look and feel premium in black, without being too showy, The controls are logical and easy to access buttons, none of this hit and miss swipe nonsense, and B&W supply an equally easy to use no fuss app with which to toggle the various features on and off.Feature wise noise cancelling is as good as it should be at this price, not extraordinary but free of white noise and sound quality degradation. And what a sound! All frequencies are well balanced and playback creates a wonderful spacious, integrated whole. The PX7 S2s handle pretty well any genre with great poise and refinement. I was captivated by their ability to render both the deep house techno beats I work to, the smooth and spacious jazz tunes I like to go for walks to and the crossover jazz, classical scores I occasionally throw in. Everything holds together beautifully and I had no problem jacking the volume up and down using the side buttons, and swapping through ANC modes. There's also a bit of smart tech added to auto adjust ANC too, though doesn't make a huge difference. I also noticed the lift ear cup to pause function was a bit flaky, often being too eager and the app sensitivity setting not helping much.Overall, these are a brilliant set of premium wireless headphones that do everything including calling rather well. Highly recommended.
The Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2e noise cancelling headphones are superb. Having misplaced my mid-range earbuds I decided it was time to upgrade to more premium headphones and I was fortunate to be offered the chance to test and review these headphones. To be honest, Bowers & Wilkins was not a brand I was familiar with but I have been extolling their excellence ever since. I appreciate a very wide range of music and my ears have been opened to layers of instrumentation and voice that I have been missing all these years. The headphones have a luxurious feel and are very comfortable over the ears and on the head. The protective case is very well made and has a neat compartment for the supplied charging cable, which is double-ended USB-C. The App is very user friendly, ... The headphones have a luxurious feel and are very comfortable over the ears and on the head. The protective case is very well made and has a neat compartment for the supplied charging cable, which is double-ended USB-C. The App is very user friendly, guiding you through connectivity and also the headphones button functions. The headphones can be set, via the App, to automatically connect to the last device used. It has been very easy for me to switch between iPad and Android phone. There are two levels of noise cancellation, which I am yet to stress in a crowded environment, but I have been impressed with experimentation at home. I took advantage of the free trial with the QoBuz App which provides high qualitystreaming and really amplifies the clarity of the headphones. Battery life is very good. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to test these headphones and I cannot wait to explore more music from my back catalogue. A fantastic, high quality product.
