I'll never buy another of these again.

Not a fan of the "WIFI treadmill"
16 February 2021

Comparing this to my 20 year old treadmill, this has great power, the build quality is good and it looks good in my home gym.The problem for me starts with the operating system that is needed for the machine to run. WIFI is required to simply run the treadmill in any way. If your internet connection is down or you are experiencing problems with your WIFI or if the treadmill itself is having issues connecting to your WIFI, you will NOT be able to start the treadmill. Before starting a manual workout, the treadmill needs to communicate with the JRNY servers and then it communicates back down to the treadmill. If this connection cannot be made, the treadmill will not run and will spit out a connection error.I have no interest in using the JRNY workout videos. I just want to set/change my own incline and speed, which can be done using the manual workout option, however within 2 weeks, I have already run into connection issues 3 times (despite having excellent WIFI signal) and was unable to start the treadmill without rebooting the operating system. Why can I not start the treadmill and use a manual workout without a WIFI connection?I would not have purchased this treadmill if I knew this information. Unfortunately, I could not find a "non-smart treadmill" at the time of purchase such as the Bowflex BXT6 or BXT116. I also have concerns of the longevity of the tablet. Will the performance of the tablet still be acceptable in say 10 years? Will the WIFI adapter and all of the other electronics needed to even start the treadmill still work in 10 years?I wish now that I would have purchased a traditional, non-smart treadmill. Aside from this, I would give the actual treadmill itself a 4 out of 5 stars. The only other con I have with the actual treadmill is the noise from your feet hitting the deck. Just walking at 3.0mph speed, every time your foot hits the deck, it is much louder than my old treadmill. If you are jogging or running, its even worse.

Owned for Five Months and Nothing But Frustration
14 October 2022

The treadmill works, but the software is so bad I would not recommend this to anyone. You can’t just start a workout. You’ve got to tap through their built in tablet to select the one you want. On top of that, often enough the tablet screen won’t even turn on! You’re forced to restart the treadmill just to get a workout in. Gone are the days of pressing a button and instantly starting your workout (at least with Bowflex)! The concept of having multiple profiles to track individual workouts by person is nice but is flawed, too. I can’t count how many times I’ve had to re-login because my wife switched to her profile. There’s no way to stay logged in which is super frustrating. I’d stay away from this brand of treadmill as much as I hate to say it. The hassle to get your workout started just isn’t worth it, especially when they’re not pushing any updates or making any improvements to it.

Solid Treadmill, a step up from most

I had purchased on Amazon on Prime Day, and Best buy smoked their price ( almost half the price!) a week later, so I bought it from Best Buy and sent back Amazons. Great deal!I have had terrible luck twice with both Adidas and Rebook treadmills, so this is my third in 5 years. ( both priced MSRP just below $1000)I spent a lot of time researching this on Prime Day before buying. This model is a "retailer only" so it is pretty hard to find information across the internet, as well as it being a newer unit. The BIGGEST concern for me, was durability followed by expense. I rather spend a bit more on this, than get a sub $1000 treadmill just to have issues down the road. (Best Buys Sale was FANTASTIC, just under 1k)Positives:1. I rather spend a bit more on this, than get a sub $1000 treadmill just to have issues down the road. (Best Buys Sale was FANTASTIC, just under 1k)Positives:1. Large Rollers, much larger than most residential treadmills, at 2.75". For runners it is recommended at least 2.25" rollers. Large rollers reduce wear on the bearings, require less tension on the belt, less or no belt hesitation, and longer belt life. Cheaper Treadmills can be as small as 1.5".2. Triple Ply Belt - cheaper treadmills often have a 1 or 2 ply belt, which reduces its longevity and makes it prone to wear quicker.3. Push button Drop - I keep my treadmill in mu living room, so it is folded when not in use. The Bowflex system is nice, as rather than having to "kick" the piston, it as a locking mechanism released by the giant red button. This provides a much easer way to lower the deck than a traditional treadmill where you must kick/push the piston inward while lifting to get the locking to release.4. Heart Rate Monitor - this includes a arm worn heart rate monitor that matches my Apple Watch reading almost exactly. It allows for a readout of your heart rate on the screen, which is convenient.5. Quiet Operation - This is set right again the wall of a bedroom, and they can't hear it in operation, even with a light jog, so that is great if you worry about disturbing others.6. Warranty - The warranty is on par with what I expect for a treadmill with a MSRP over $10007. Fan - although it is weak, this is the FIRST out of 3 treadmills I can actually feel the fan. It isn't super powerful, but it is enough that you can feel it.8. Assembly - SUPER easy. Took me less than 45 minutes from boxes to assembledNegatives:1. Plenty of storage / space, but awkward design - the places for water bottles was not though out, it seems like it was an afterthought. plenty of space, it just all has a weird design and layout2. Plastic trim is garbage - All of the trim for the legs and arms, is poorly designed, feels cheap, and is awkward to install. I spent more time on the trim pieces during assembly than anything else.3. JRNY - although I didn't have issues getting started without a membership ( many JRNY products seems to lock out users prompting for a subscription) it is overpriced and locks the streaming apps behind this paywall. Not huge for me, because I use a 12" iPad, but this would upset me a bit more had I bought one of the upper models with larger screens, and was unable to use half the functions without a subscription. *EDIT* If you do not sign up on the tablet, but use the included code on the website you get 6 months free. This allows you to import workouts to Apple Health seamlessly.Overall, I have owned this for a month and am happy. Time will tell if it holds up. The Amazon delivery guy said this was the heaviest he had delivered ( which I can attest it is hefty, as I helped get it up stairs, as well as Picked up the one from Best Buy and moved it with 1 other person)It is a shame that Bowflex / Nautilus has locked streaming apps behind a JRNY membership. This removed any temptation for me to buy one of the ones with a huge display, as it would be useless without a JRNY membership.I will update this review after 6 months of ownership.

7 Months of ownership. Purchased from BestBuy and I am currently on the phone now with them.Hardware: NO complaints.Software: Terrible software. Terrible user interface. The screen sometimes won't turn on at all. Sometimes, it flickers while running.Thankfully, I have Total Tech. So hoping for a new screen, or a refund. If they can not or will not do anything for this unit, or the UNIT YOU BUY, remember, you are STUCK with a LARGE / HEAVY paperweight. You CAN NOT use this Treadmill without THEIR software.DO NOT BUY THIS TREADMILL.

Treadmill breaks less than a year after purchase
16 December 2022

My bowflex 7 didnt even last a year. After having 8 months the belt just died and wouldnt move. Fast forward 3 months without being able to use it and multiple ticket to change everything in the machine (including the motor), Bowflex is now going to replace the whole machine with a Bowflex 10. It's sad that the customer has to be inconvenienced for 3 months and now I have to wait until they pick up the broken machine before they send a new one. I would have rather had my money back. To top it all off now I have had to make several calls to Best Buy just to get my extended warranty updated to show they are sending a different machine so I dont loose my warranty. Very Frustrating!!! I'll think twice before I ever make a big purchase again

The color screen is very clear and it even has a computer voice named “Alex”. Works very smooth, Bluetooth speakers very crisp, and the fan gives off a good breeze too if you are the sweating type. We have no complaints with BowFlex Treadmill7 and recommend it for the casual users or those looking to lose some COVID Weight.
